You listen to Do Make Say Think too much.

publicastration 09-25-2007 04:19 PM
Repped to both of you. It's folk/pop/comedy.

You kinda have to watch the show to get it.
Why would I have to watch the show to appreciate it?

I'm listening to it now, I like it.

Thunder from Down Under, if I remember correctly.

Good album. The song Kuranda refers to a place not far from my home city.

So you can understand what the hell they're talking about. The songs are based off events from the show.

Oh I see.

Skyler 09-25-2007 06:06 PM

Not to mention it's much funnier seeing them perform the songs onscreen.

ATM 09-25-2007 06:06 PM

Definitely.

Riva 09-25-2007 06:13 PM

Albums by music comedians are never quite as good, I think. That's why I never bothered with Tripod's one.

Is that so? Is it a town or a mountain or something like that?

Oh, wait, since it's the northern part of Queensland it's probably a damn rainforest. :D

blueyxd 09-26-2007 02:47 AM

hooray for the tropics

Speaking of which, I might be up there some time soonish.. wherever Atherton is. All I know is that it was within custard apple-tree-damaging range of Cyclone Larry.

It's a town in the rainforest, yeah. :p

When he wrote the song it was a fairly quiet, remote town, but now it's just another tourist centre that's lost its charm. :-/

Atherton is about an hour's drive from Cairns, on the Atherton Tablelands. Cyclone Larry's eye went over Innisfail, an hour south of Cairns, and heavily damaged the area stretching south to Tully, north to Gordonvale, and west to Atherton. Are you flying in or driving up? Tell me the dates, and we'll catch up for a drink or seven.

Rest assured, I have no intention of going there to exploit it. Australia's got too many kinds of large spiders for my liking.

I even think some of Sweden's spiders are too large.
