Won't let me edit for some reason...
Here's the full review: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review_11186 |
Nice review, but it does sadden me slightly as I download the album.
|
New Sabaton album has leaked...d/ling now :naughty:
Also, sad to admit I never listened to Edguy's Rocket Ride all the way through until last night. What is with the guitar-esque vocal solo in 'Return to the Tribe'? |
New Sabaton already? I bet it's identical to the last two :-\
"Metalizer" was recorded in 2002 and was supposed to be distributed by Underground Symphony as Sabaton's debut album. After two years waiting Sabaton abandoned the album and found a new record company to release "Primo Victoria." Black Lodge eventually aquired the rights to "Metalizer" and released it in 2007.
YES! I recall, this is going to own hard. Best album by Sabaton guaranteed! It contains songs off Fist for Fight demo collection which is god-ish. /downloads. |
Edguy have done better albums than Rocket Ride, but I like it. It's more **** rock esque.
Vocal guitar solo owns hard. Period. |
I didn't really think the album as a whole was that great, but "Sacrifice" alone makes it worth buying.
|
I recommend Mandrake and Hellfire Club before getting Rocket Ride
|
The link is now inactive, can someone please give me the new Sabaton, I've been waiting for it since I heard Fist for Fight back in 2003 :upset:
|
I recommend Mandrake and Hellfire Club before getting Rocket Ride
I have Hellfire Club, but not Mandrake. Theater of Salvation is the opther Edguy I have, and it's my favorite. Very consistent album, however not quite as catchy as Hellfire Club. |
Sabaton - Metalizer
This album was recorded as early as 2002 but until today it has not been released. Black Lodge will release this album on the 16th of March. As a bonus on this release it will feature the full "Fist For Fight" demo album on a second CD. Watch out for this great release with a total number of 24 tracks.
Hellrider Metalizer Shadows Burn Your Crosses Endless Nights Hail To The King Thunderstorm Masters Of The World --These songs are included in both of Metalizer and First for Fight but the recordings are different. I noticed slightly varied solo sections and keyboard parts as well as more mature but less raw sounding vocals. Something is terribly wrong with the drumming in Thunderstorm, I prefer the demo version... Out of the songs I had never listened to (Speeder, 7734, Birds Of War), I really liked Speeder, it has an old school speed metal edge just like Thunderstorm, the song which got me into Sabaton. 7734, I didn't like too much, I think they should have put The Hammer Has Fallen (found on the second disc) in the main release instead of this. Make sure you listen to The Hammer Has Fallen, is an absolutely fantastic but under rated Sabaton song, with great vocal lines. As for Birds Of War, I need to download it :-\ Sabaton at their best, better than Primo Victoria and Primo Victoria Pt2 (aka Attero Dominatus) \m/ |

I still haven't listened to Theater Of Salvation. I bought it about a week ago... Mandrake is probably their best in my eyes, although Hellfire Club is a LOT catchier. |
Theater of Salvation and Rocket Ride are my favorites.
|
Can't wait for the new Sabaton. :D

You should listen to it. Like I said, it's consistent from start to finish, and there's a couple very very sweet songs. I haven't listened to Mandrak yet, but once I see it, I'll buy it...... |
I'll pop it in tomorrow. Too late now...plus, once you start listening to Ozric Tentacles, you can't stop.

Vain Glory Opera rules, it's the only one I have. I love the title track, it reminds me of THE FINAL COUNTDOWN.
|
The Title track is indeed amazing. One of my favorite chorus's ever too. Also, what gives it bonus points is the fact that Hansi guests int eh song
I love the part where he comes in and shows his Hansiness. |
I don't really care for Hansi. I'm totally indifferent.
|
Pfft. You like Blind Guardian though ?
|
Yeah
|
Ah okay then. I got scared, there :p
I mean, I would still love the song if Hansi didn't appear in it. I just like the part where he sings, heh. |
Europe was the most power metal non-power metal band ever.
|
I had the synth line to "The Final Countdown" stuck in my head for a whole weekend about a month ago. So good.
|
Heh, that song is so cool.
|
Have you guys heard Black Majesty? This album is so great.
|
Black Majesty is alright in my book. LMP puts out very good music.
|
Is everyone rubbing their hands (and possibly cocks) in glee in anticipation of the new Sonata album and hopefully tour?
|
September 30th for me.
|
Meh...Sonata.
I'm relistening to Rhapsody's Symphony of Enchanted Lands for the second time right now. Better then I remembered it to be. It's actually pretty cool. Except for the fact that the title track is 7 minutes instead of 13... |
The reluctance of most power metal bands to tour England properly is frustrating... I mean...are Manowar coming here for example?
No, about 20 dates in Germany and about 5 in the ****ing Czech Republic for ****'s sake! |
They need to keep their European tour cred going.
"Hey, I heard you guys were playing in London?!" "What, London? Nooo, you must mean Lublin, in Poland. Yeah... big power metal community there. Like 200 fans of the music, at least." |
London sucks anyway. It has a measurement, cpsi
I'll leave you to work it out. (hint, first word has four letters) Seriously though, PM bands have this big problem with touring England, Manowar are all well and good for hailing England, but when it comes to actually playing here... |
chavs per square inch?
|
Corn peels scream insanity?

Man, I just found out that Winters Bane is playing the same night as the Chicago Powerfest I'm going to...at 10pm. Atheist comes on at Powerfest at 10:30. I'm so pissed. Winters Bane is one of my absolute favorites.
