Lydia's upcoming album, 'This December; It's One More & I'm Free' totally kicks ***.

Happymeal 09-05-2005 03:55 PM

Lydia.. Lunch?

ATM 09-05-2005 03:56 PM

I'm yet to hear Sparklehorse. What kind of music?

Robert Crumb 09-05-2005 04:16 PM

^ Sort of lo-fish indieish popish rockish, at least from what I've heard. Decent stuff.

Today has been Miles Davis, Neu!, Spiritualized and right now some Kanye.

Happymeal 09-05-2005 04:29 PM

^In Good Morning Spider they change into different styles. It's not that apparent when you first listen to it though, I suppose they're one of those bands whose subtleness are their strong points.

pixiesfanyo 09-05-2005 04:51 PM

uhm.

I remembered how much I liked Coheed & Cambria this weekend.

Outstanding.

Today I'm dusting off the vinyl and playin' a few classics.

Pixies - Doolittle
Stooges - Raw Power
Gang of Four - Entertainment! (it's funny how so many bands these days cite them as an influence, yet they don't sound like them...)
The Cramps - Psychadelic Jungle

br3ad_man 09-05-2005 05:21 PM

Bloc Party sound like them.

Two weeks :D

Primus- Sailing the Seas of Cheese. I was sure I wouldn't like this as much as Frizzle Fry, but it's really fucking good. Favorite songs are Sgt. Baker, Eleven, Is It Luck?, Tommy the Cat, and Blue Collar Tweekers. Lots o' fun.

I missed you Tang

Bl:rolleyes:c Party

Black band members are the new chick band members.

br3ad_man 09-05-2005 05:29 PM

Dude, chick band members aren't cool unless they play bass.

I'm listening to Entertainment! now. What a top record.

Tangy zizzle 09-05-2005 05:30 PM

A lead singer can't be classed as a (token) black member.
Why not get the leak, hot stuff? :p
I can hear a single or two on the radio or MTV eventually, and I already know that I'm getting it, and that it's gonna be good. So I'm fine for now :)

OrbDragon 09-05-2005 07:38 PM

Anything from Norway seems to rock my world these days. Kaizers Orchestra, Jaga Jazzist, Thomas Dybdahl...

I might end up livin' there...

ATM 09-05-2005 07:51 PM

Norway is an amazing place, but Oslo is really really expensive.

asymm 09-05-2005 08:15 PM

The Jesus and Mary Chain - Psychocandy
Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow
The Kinks - Arthur...

Luxor 09-05-2005 08:17 PM

Elliott Smith
DCFC
Protest The Hero
Ad Astra Per Aspera
Someday Somehow

I need to get some more music on this bad boy.

Smackers 09-05-2005 09:35 PM

The Cure

ATM 09-05-2005 09:43 PM

The Appleseed Cast are ace.

YDload 09-05-2005 11:10 PM

I gave Yank Crime a listen from the YSI thread. Pretty good, but those 7+ minute songs are kinda pointless. Maybe next time I'll give it a try through headphones, see if that doesn't make a difference.

Tangy zizzle 09-05-2005 11:20 PM

That's why I don't like DLJ as much as Hot Snakes. There's way too much foreplay in their music.

I've been giving the new Coheed and Cambria a few listens... I like it better than their previous albums but I don't like it like it.

It's just okay.

Welcome to the future, o time traveling citizen! The world is a much different place than it was in 1985, but I think you'll find some things never change...

The Grand Wazoo by Frank Zappa is an album that usually surprises me. I don't hold it in high enough regard, or something.

Otis Redding - Otis Blue (4.5/5)
Kanye West - Late Registration (4/5)
