MalcolmYoungRock 09-11-2004 11:27 AM

Badmoon 09-11-2004 11:28 AM

Broken Arrow 09-11-2004 11:28 AM

I just informed Everybody^

MalcolmYoungRock 09-11-2004 11:29 AM

Tis still a very good song. Have you heard his cover of "Knockin on Heavens Door"?

I like that.

Broken Arrow 09-11-2004 11:32 AM

Which Cover. So many.

MalcolmYoungRock 09-11-2004 11:37 AM

We were on the topic of Clapton....

Broken Arrow 09-11-2004 11:39 AM

So the Clapton cover eh?

He's covered quite a few songs Hasn't he.

MalcolmYoungRock 09-11-2004 11:41 AM

Yes indeed.

But he writes good songs too.

I often find myself humming Bell Bottom Blues.

Broken Arrow 09-11-2004 11:50 AM

I often find you throw lightbulbs at stupid threadsarters.

I'm going to have lunch and watch John Foggerty.

thickasabrick 09-11-2004 11:56 AM

i think i like clapton more as a musician than a guitarist. whatever band/solo project he was doing was usually more about the songs, instead of him showing off his guitar skills. i like that.

MalcolmYoungRock 09-11-2004 11:59 AM

..............

Most bands aren't about showing off their guitar skills.

They all work together to make music.

I think what you mean is Clapton just kind of blended in with the crowd and didn't do anything like take a solo in the middle of a show when it wasn't supposed to be there.

Yeah. But that's why he's so good. Who cares about good guitar parts if the song is good? I rockin' solo wont make a bad song good.

jpj 09-11-2004 12:31 PM

off topic but im listening to thick as a brick right now and kicks major arse

Broken Arrow 09-11-2004 12:45 PM

Lunch was nice.......................Foggerty was amazing.

Seafroggys 09-11-2004 01:07 PM
I don't know, if you took anyone away from The Who they wouldn't be the same at all. So it's hard to single out just Pete.
True. Keith Moon died, but The Who went on a little while, quitting in 1982 (I think) then picking it back up with Zak Starkey (of all people :D ). They did quite well. With Entwhistle dead, I don't know now though what will happen. I know I'm pissed at Pete for supporting the Iraq war.

mrpham 09-11-2004 01:14 PM

A lot of students at my school love classic rock. Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, The Who and a lot of others are really popular among us

shadow_stalker 09-11-2004 01:31 PM

i was watching top of the poips two with my dad and the rolling stones were on with 'i know its only rock and roll' and ever since then ive loved that kind of music, also i have liked the beatles since i heared about 5 seconds of 'she loves you' on ozzy osbourne's behind the music

Broken Arrow 09-11-2004 01:41 PM

Broken Arrow 09-11-2004 02:25 PM

Yardbirds
John Mayall Bluesbreakers

MalcolmYoungRock 09-11-2004 02:31 PM

He wasn't really big with the Yardbirds though.

He quit after the first ablum??

jpj 09-11-2004 02:33 PM

im pretty sure he quit the yardbirds in 1962

MalcolmYoungRock 09-11-2004 02:36 PM

He said something like they were too pop-ish for him so he left.

BludgeonySteve 09-11-2004 02:40 PM
