i dont watch many films at all

i borrowed Pan's Labyrinth from a friend and i just bought Valkyrie and Gran Torino because they were $5 at Blockbuster
pan's labyrinth is amazing

it almost makes me cry sometimes too.

not as much as rent though. i cry watching that forreal.

Jaundice 10-11-2009 10:00 PM

i always dodged Requiem for A Dream because if I got into that I'd have to get Fight Club next and that's a path i dont want to go down

publicastration 10-11-2009 10:00 PM
^^^well opeth is almost the only metal worth listening to so he was almost right there.
it's really not though. unentertaining, not powerful or meaningful. just a trainwreck of ill-thought-out imagery.
I find it entertaining. I think there's a lot more almost dark comedy in there than drama though.

Permanent Solution 10-11-2009 10:01 PM

^^may be. i havne't seen it in awhile but that was my opinion at the time and thus have no interest in updating it
i always dodged Requiem for A Dream because if I got into that I'd have to get Fight Club next and that's a path i dont want to go down
wot?

fight club is actually a good movie unlike requiem

Arucard 10-11-2009 10:01 PM

mmm i just skimmed requeium because i've seen it so many times, but the end of that movie is so ****ed up.

not many movies elicit an emotional response from me, but the end of that movie and alot of the bits in it get me every time

Txus 10-11-2009 10:01 PM

the best movie ever clearly is city of god

and fight club is an entretaining movie, i lol at people telling me how requiem is the saddest movie ever

AA-12 10-11-2009 10:01 PM

fight club was good in the 90s. it really didnt age well at all.

Meatplow 10-11-2009 10:02 PM

Permanent Solution 10-11-2009 10:03 PM
bruce campbell is the pinnacle of film

qtiyd
**** you're right

Meatplow 10-11-2009 10:10 PM
El angel exterminador is better
I found that pretty boring.

Belle De Jour was a nice mix between surrealism and actually sensible filmmaking techniques.

Jaundice 10-11-2009 10:11 PM
El angel exterminador is better
will look into this, doubt its better tho

Txus 10-11-2009 10:12 PM

Havent seen Belle De Jour, will look for it.

Simon del Desierto is another really good Buñuel movie imo

Arucard 10-11-2009 10:13 PM

Casino is amazing. Contains some of the best Pesci moments of his career.

Meatplow 10-11-2009 10:17 PM
70s italian horror movies rule
Lucio Fulci is elite, from what little i've seen of him anyway (Cat in the Brain, possibly the most ridiculously over the top gore i've ever seen on film)

Txus 10-11-2009 10:18 PM
70s italian horror movies rule
