These talent show videos.

And yea, the vocals were horrible, but I wanted my friend to join us on stage cause he loves these songs, even though he can't sing.
Oh, okay. I'll check them out later hopefully, as I'm just off now.
I like Bob Marley. The only reggae artist you don't have to be high to tolerate.
If you spend a lot of your time "hating on faggots", you can listen to quite a lot of reggae and enjoy it, I'd imagine.
Clearly you don't understand the concept of the "21st Birthday Party in Vegas".
Ha, I forgot about that. Liquor, gambling, and strip clubs galore.

Did anyone check out that band?

CemetaryGates9 05-17-2005 02:11 PM

Happy Birthday.

I have to write a play.
I have to do a report thing on the Orhpheum Theater soon.
That kid told the principal on me. It's all good.

What the hell is that supposed to mean?

(I honestly have no idea what that means)

Also, good gawd magicbus, that guy cannot sing.

 Yea I know. I sang on the first song, but I wasn't close enough to the mic to hear over him. Plus I'm not a great singer either.

Thanks to everyone else also :thumb:

lunch998 05-17-2005 02:42 PM

Yea, but musically WYWH was sweet.
Yeah, that wikipedia link cleared that up. He founded the first colony on Greenland, I think.
In regards to your Viking chat, it was Erik the Red who founded the colony in Greenland. He was banished from Iceland (for brawling I beleive), and went to Greenland. He named it Greenland to convince people to move to his colony. It was his son, Leif Eriksson, who discovered America before Columbus, he landed in an area which he named Vinland. They encounered indians, were horribly out numbered.. killed.. They haven't yet confirmed the fabled location of Vinland, though they are trying. God I love Vikings.. :thumb:

Happy birthday Magicbus. :)

Vikings = \m/

Norse mythology and tales of Vikings as stuff are very interesting to me, the fact that I am 50%~ish Norwegian/Swedish helps with that heh.

NP - Quo Vadis - Dead Mans Diary

I love this song...Steve DiGiorgio is a beast on bass.

Me. I think he's lame and bad and overrated. I really dislike his music for being boring. That dumb off beat guitar strum gets really old.

I prefer the reading about the Trojan war myself
I have always wondered, did the vikings wear those brass helmets with the two horns on in real life, or just in the cartoons?

I'm not going to be as harsh about Bob as you did, but I do agree that he is overrated. People just listen to him these days because it is the "cool" thing to do. It kind of pisses me off.

Norse mythology is the only mythology I've actually read more than 2 or 3 stories of. Last year I read this whole book full of Norse mythology.. But it was a library book.. And I can't find it elsewhere. I'd love to own a copy of it. I used to know runes, but now I only know about half of them.

Good luck, dude. I'm going to start tonight. I honestly doubt that I will win with all of these other great songwriters on here, but I am going to do my best.

Wish me luck.

Dancin' Man 05-17-2005 03:28 PM

I am so excited about my entry. I've got the song done with writing and structure and the drum tracks and acoustic guitars recorded (or programmed as the case may be). I may try to mic some of my electrics or just do the bass today.

I can't wait to hear all of them.

Illmatic 05-17-2005 03:28 PM
Dang Indians, who would kill poor Vikings.
Packers, Bears, Cowboys, 49ers, Steelers, Chiefs, Dolphins, Raiders...the list goes on.

/NFL joke, I wouldn't be surprised if Mellow Jello doesn't get it

harsh words.

Anyway, I walked in on my buddy and that chick...again. Goddamn, the guy's a machine. The liklihood of things actually happening today are pretty slim.

What program do you use? I'm poor so I'm stuck with Audacity. :D

Dancin' Man 05-17-2005 03:32 PM

I'm using FL for durms and Adobe Audition for recording and mixing and mastering and basically everything. I got my version of each for free.

Ray - I missed this the first time around. Linkage. plzkthx

P.S. The football joke was lame. My uncle would've curb stomped you for saying that about the Vikings. Being a Browns fan, I expect my team to lose so it's no biggie when people laugh at them.

Thor 05-17-2005 03:33 PM

Just wondering, do you still think I am a stupid poster?

Dancin' Man 05-17-2005 03:36 PM

Not usually. There is a new kid who took your place. Winter Thyrun or something like that.

http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0QFOE00P23SFZ1VJU4YY22FBKG

The only 'finished' section of my song. I may add bass and some samples (maybe the Borg assimilation speech?)

Dancin' Man 05-17-2005 03:40 PM

Yes. He's a stupid douchebag who knows a lot, but not as much as he thinkgs he does. Example being he showed up in the Death Heads thread and within his first 2 or 3 posts there told someone to 'get out' because they like Children of Bodom. No class.
So one of my good friends from high school is out and back home, and I was going to hang out with him, only when I arrived at his house I walked in on him and some chick (his girlfriend from college, maybe? I dunno). So I went back home and here I am, for the time being.
Use your own sick imagination to fill in whatever blanks there are in the story :)

And hey, my point is that no team in the NFL chokes quite as hard as the Minnesota Vikings.

Dancin' Man 05-17-2005 03:42 PM

The closest I've come to that experience was leaving my friend and her boyfriend alone for a few mintues while I drove out to get ice cream. I came back and she was just putting her shirt back on. I made them reimburse me for the ice cream.

I suppose it's more noticable when they've been good within the last few years.

a few minutes? some sex machine that guy is

This is hardly new to me (I've walked in on friends doing chicks in college, I guess I just have rotten luck), but it's still pretty awkward.

And in the 70's the Vikings were one of the best teams in the NFC and had nothing to show for it, even losing in their first playoff game a few years.

The ammount of sex those two have is insane. It began with him at the traditional short teenage boy time and we all made fun of him. Now it's like they can will themselves into sex telepathically.

Lots of reggae artists ("lots" meaning "most of the ones I know") are severely anti-homosexual. Homophobic if you like, although it has less to do fearing them and more to do with killing them, quickly.

That song was on Tony Hawks', wasn't it?

Anyway, so long as your opening line wasn't "Christ, your mom is hot", it can't have been that awkward.

EDIT: yeah, m4a sucks :) Still downloading it though.

ATM 05-17-2005 04:51 PM

m4a plays in Winamp, so I didn't bother to change it.

I believe so. Very, very fast lyrics, if I remember correctly. I never played the games that intently, but my brother owns it.
Anyway, so long as your opening line wasn't "Christ, your mom is hot", it can't have been that awkward.
He makes a good point.
