It's pretty much exact! Wow.

That's weird, because I had not seen it before, but something told me it had probably been done.

Someday I will think of an original idea. Someday.

Hmm. it looks like that one is not on one continuous piece of cardboard, because of the spray between the 4th and 5th guy.

coheneran 12-01-2006 02:35 PM

Does this look better?

http://i14.tinypic.com/2agkmcy.jpg

The background won't be in the finished stencil, but I'll probably add some bulletholes in the walls to emphasize the point.

Jon 12-01-2006 02:37 PM

still looks like a monkey

DaveToopes 12-01-2006 02:44 PM

I don't understand why you are so hell bent on doing that stencil Eran. It looks bad and nobody will be able to tell what it is.

coheneran 12-01-2006 02:47 PM

I still don't see teh monkie...

I wanna do it 'cos I like the picture.

POINTLESS5448 12-01-2006 03:55 PM

asdf that silly walk stencil is so good. i want it.

maybe do one of the Fish Slapping Dance? :thumb:

Danger Bird 12-02-2006 03:13 AM

Monty Python sucks but good job on the stencil.

i would still do it, even though it will turn from a guy protecting a child it will be a monkey protecting a guy in a cem suit. which is still a really cool idea.

Jon 12-02-2006 11:04 AM

why don't you just rasterbate it really big or something?

Fix the expressions a tad bit and thats fine. That one is definitely stencilable.

Yeah, I can see what you're saying. If I cleaned up the kid's face, and added more white to the guy's face (particularly under the eye/left of the nose), I could probably pass it off.

And yes Jonni, it'll be rasterbated to life-size.

Any ideas on how to make a bullethole? I can't imagine a that just a black circle hole in the wall would look any good.

Flagjacket 12-04-2006 03:34 PM

Shoot one with a gun. Honestly, all you can do to simulate a bullethole is put a small object through it at high high vvelocity.

coheneran 12-04-2006 04:11 PM

Maybe if I get an ice-pick...?

http://i10.tinypic.com/2it53li.jpg

What do you think? His face is cleaner and more recognisably human, but far less expressionless considering he's like 8 and being shot at.

mullets suk 12-04-2006 04:25 PM

much better, but the nose looks cartoonish, but you could easily do it.

edit the nose a tad bit.

Danger Bird 12-05-2006 01:06 AM

The kid's face just looks like a cartoon.

mullets suk 12-05-2006 03:45 PM

which one do you think would be best to stencil/ can you tell what they are.

They all need loads more work if you wanna make them look good. Anyone who knows what the ramones look like should be able to tell it's them, but it doesn't look good.

mullets suk 12-05-2006 04:44 PM

yea... that what i was thinking. ill see if i can find some multi-layer tutorials.

Jon 12-05-2006 05:06 PM

the Johnny ones are alright but you'd need to make photo stencils to make them any good.

mullets suk 12-05-2006 05:30 PM

what do you mean by photo stencils? is it the same as multi layer?

I'm thinkin those would be pretty hard to stencil out.

Jon 12-05-2006 06:44 PM

I can't remember what the machine is called and I can't be bothered to look it up, but its what you use to properly screenprint things; it sort of burns the image onto a screen so you can get minute details in.

coheneran 12-05-2006 06:59 PM

Jon, do you perchance have a copy of Illustrator 2.0?

asdf 12-05-2006 07:16 PM

Although this isn't really DIY I garbage picked a mouse from my school today, which is great, because my computer mouse has been messing up a lot recently. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better.

My school is throwing out lots of computer stuff. Mostly just really old mac'n'crashes but there's seems to be some decent stuff there. I'm thinking of taking more (at the very least, another keyboard).

Get all of it and pawn the parts or sell them on ebay?

asdf 12-05-2006 09:13 PM
Get all of it and pawn the parts or sell them on ebay?
I was thinking that, but for a few reasons that's not going to happen.

First off, I'm not 100% sure if they are actually being thrown away. For all I know, they might be being donated somewhere, and they only allowed my friend and I to take what we could use (I don't know the specifics, because my friend asked before I got there, and he's very vague).

Second, the majority of the stuff there are these ancient macintoch that are very, very shitty. It is likely no one would want them anyway.

Third, I don't have the vehicle capacity, or house capacity for 20 odd macs.

No need to garbage pick a mouse. Just steal one from your school library. I'm sure they'll be able to afford replacing one mouse.

Only a few days ago did I think of taking one from the school. But I don't steal. Turns out by not doing so I gained one for free honestly by the same people.

Rise Me Up 12-05-2006 11:10 PM

Haha. You sound like an after-school special.

asdf 12-05-2006 11:11 PM

Whatever. I just don't steal. I salvage.

Sunshine 12-05-2006 11:13 PM

^ Which is the way to go.

So.

Anybody know the first thing about DIY Prom Dresses?

With actual cloth, I'm just not hardcore enough for duct tape/candy wrappers.

Danger Bird 12-06-2006 01:11 AM

^OMG, I should make a duct-tape tux!!!

One time I found a three hundred dollar Marantz stereo CD player in the garbage at school. It works perfectly.

Sunshine 12-06-2006 08:47 PM

Damn.

Hardcore.

Argh, dress-skirts are so damn complicated.

Like I know it's going to be plaid, the standard red kind.

And I've got the top all figured out.

It's the skirt thats giving me major issues.

Danger Bird 12-06-2006 10:57 PM

Here's a test spray of a stencil I made for a friend's band. It's got lots of overspray, but I can fix it for the final product, I'm just too lazy to hold everything down for a test spray.

The bass player looks like a yeti, hence the image.

I'm afraid I don't know much about making/editting clothes, but usually it's a combination of fold>pin>sew>cut.

coheneran 12-07-2006 07:05 AM

I made a new stencil:

http://i16.tinypic.com/359zceo.jpg

Here's the original:

http://i13.tinypic.com/48d57is.jpg

It's a friend of mine fixing up a traffic cone. I like it because in the stencil I can pretty much put in anything instead of the traffic cone and it'll be cool.
