Nice, is that their newer one?
According to RYM it's their 2003 EP. I think Bartender said something about this being their only North American release.

I did? I don't think it's the only thing available in America - most of their stuff seems to be available via Southern Lord now - but maybe it was the first made available outside Japan or something. I know Feedbacker (another 2003 release of theirs) was only just made available in Europe earlier this year.

I picked it (Akuma No Uta) up while I was away, actually. What do you think of it?

Yeah that's probably it. I was a little surprised actually when I listened to the songs from Akuma, it's a lot different from Flood, which is like 100x slower than what bands like Pelican and Cult of Luna usually play.

Bartender 09-04-2005 08:59 PM

I've not heard Flood. I've only had the time to listen to Akuma No Uta once so far, actually. I like the cover art though, though I don't really know why they chose to imitate Nick Drake.

br3ad_man 09-04-2005 09:06 PM

I want a guitar and bass in one. That thing is badass.

YDload 09-04-2005 09:45 PM
I want a guitar and bass in one. That thing is badass.
Oh yeah definitely. You could play both of them at the same time: plucking and snapping some percussive root notes on the bass while fretting/tapping the guitar strings. Or wait... I dunno :(

ATM 09-04-2005 09:45 PM

I'd just like to be playing bass but also be able to pick some leads out when I'm not playing bass.

The songs would be repetitive and boring if they were any longer, as with all Thingy/Heavy Vegetable albums.

I'm feeding my addiction to Quannum artists. The new Blackalicious and Lyrics Born's LP are shakin' the dorm these days.

Happymeal 09-05-2005 12:30 PM

Am now fully listening to Akuma No Uta and I think it won't be leaving my discman for a while. I admit I like it more than their droney material.

ATM 09-05-2005 12:31 PM
Mehr. I only like Kid A and Amnesiac tons.

I don't understand why so many people dislike Amnesiac.

As far as diggage, DJ Shadow, RJD2, and Daft Punk so far today.

6Stringer 09-05-2005 01:11 PM

Today I've listened to:

DFA1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine
