Hi...

Hello?

lemoley 10-13-2006 08:18 AM

hey blizz

hows it going?

blizzard 10-13-2006 08:26 AM

Meh alright... I just watched the Recruit and am feeling thoroughly unsatisfied by it. I also had a concert at school tonight which turned out to be really dodgy.

lemoley 10-13-2006 08:28 AM

hey jim, hows you?

dodgy? do go on

blizzard 10-13-2006 08:32 AM

Well it was an "music extension" concert where the music extension students get up and perform about 15 minutes of solo work each. Then they must perform 10 minutes in an ensemble. We had four students who were to perform tonight... now two of them had already done their 10 minute ensemble work so there was to be the 4 solos and two ensembles (the school Orchestra and Wind Orchestra). One of the performers pulled out at like the last minute and so we only had 3 solos and the school orchestra playing and the concert lasted about an hour in total and was really unfulfilling.

lemoley 10-13-2006 08:33 AM

oh too bad man, what did you play?

blizzard 10-13-2006 08:40 AM
oh too bad man, what did you play?
I was playing double bass we played two songs... William Tell Overture and A Salute to The Big Apple (a meddley of songs about New York, very cool and jazzy).

lemoley 10-13-2006 08:41 AM

blizzard 10-13-2006 08:42 AM
thats awesome man, you play well?
Yeah, I played pretty good. My double bass skills aren't that good and it was the first time I had played in a while and I killed my finger pizzing. How are you?

lemoley 10-13-2006 08:46 AM

Thats great.

I have my own rockband outside of the school. Unfortunately we don't play together as much as we should. But hopefully we will start now because we've been asked to play at a party in about 8 weeks... My whole band graduates school in about 6 weeks so there should be no excuse not to be ready.

I also used to play in a jazz band outside of school, which was the most fun I've had playing. We would just play at a restaurant each week, never rehearse anything, the band line up changed almost weekly and everything was improve and spontaneous it was great. Everyone played with their emotions into it, if someone did a good solo they would get another chorus, everynow and then the band would just randomly jump to double time if it was a slower song. I loved it because it was always interesting. However we no longer play at that restaurant anymore.

lemoley 10-13-2006 08:54 AM
