I'm listening toit right now. I don't have 46 minutes. So I'm goingto stop it.
wow ino why the songs go for so long because they just repeat the same thing over and over... if you listen to the first song in the background in the podcast

These_Green_Eyes 12-16-2005 11:08 PM
Thanks.

It's the Macbeth Podcast, right?
That's what it says and no problem. I'm not really listening to it, I'm talking to my girlfriend and have it on in the background.

Pazz 12-16-2005 11:10 PM

I still want to hear the podcast. I'm just planning on leaving soon. And I don't feel like listening to the same thing twice if I quit half way through.

You really think Plus 44 won't be cliché. From the song we've all heard, the melodies are pretty bad and the lyrics are especially a let down, for someone who has wrote better songs ("ST4TK", "Stockholm Syndrome", "I Miss You"). Even Travis' drumming wasn't as impressive as it can be.

It's hard to compare AAA with Blink, because it's made up of band members from other amazing bands as well, whereas +44 is pretty much Mark and Travis with someone else.

I'm very psyched for AAA now, because I think the music will be somewhat epic in terms of what Tom can do. Let's face it, no one is going to be thinking "Hey, you heard that band with the guy from Rocket From The Crypt?"

dancetomdance182 12-17-2005 08:54 AM

The podcast wasn't good. No music. I guess we'll have to wait 'til January for the single to come out.

HitHardDrums55 12-17-2005 09:28 AM

Kif, it was hard to compare boxcar racer to blink182, even though it had tom and travis in it...BCR was a little bit darker sounding, and the drums were amazing in BCR, where they were decent in Blink, but rarely mind-blowing beats...just fast usually

As for the drums not being as good as barker can do in +44, it kind of shows that he knows when to do what...if your playing acoustic drums to acoustic guitars, theres only so much you can do and make it still sound good, where on electric guitar/bass if you play the same song the drums can absolutely go crazy if necessary...the acoustics are kind of like with keys too...if you have keys in your music then you should probably hold back from doing anything too crazy, because it will make everything sound muddy and bad..so i think barker just did his thing on the drums...maybe they'll end up having some more powerful songs where he can show off a little bit...

...even though i have come to conclusion that barker is definately not my favorite drummer anymore since i started listening to alkaline trio a few years ago

Travis=Drumming god

He's better than Alk3's drummer by alot I'd say.

HitHardDrums55 12-17-2005 10:05 AM

ever seen derek grant live?

ive seen some barker solos and theyre all the same thing..except one i heard was complete ****...i was surprised

B 12-17-2005 12:09 PM

Stew you suck.

Travis is nothing more than above average. The only thing he has going for him is that he can play semi-fast. If you want to hear fast playing in pop-punk/punk music then listen to Byron McMackin from Pennywise.

I dont think he wrote stay together for the kids.. as tom said he rote it about a day where his family broke.. and also what do you expect travis to do in the 30 seconds he plays???

Travis is well above average. He can play way more than semi-fast too. Travis is one of the best drummers I've ever heard. He's nothing like I've heard you saying about him.

plaidbassbilly 12-17-2005 09:01 PM

I agree. Travis does some pretty amazing stuff, but he isn't the best ever. I've seen some of Longineau Parsons from Yellowcard drum solos, and he struck me as better than Travis.
