i don't know why but all home depots smell the same. i think it is the smell of progress. i don't know why other hardware stores don't smell like that
It's the smell of the mexicans outside. HEY-O!
I despise the home depot. All of the employees are idiots, (there are seriously like, 4 of them for the entire store) and it does seem easy to get lost in there. Plus, i'd rather get friendly service from a small buisness.
Truth. Ace is the next best thing, while they are a franchise, they are allowed to be run like a small local hardware store.

AIRIC 04-28-2006 05:02 PM

We have a small family run hardware store in my dad's town and it's boring. They don't even have a dog in it.

POINTLESS5448 04-28-2006 06:07 PM

i have one down the road from my house in canada and it has a dog. they have sweet bright orange hunting hats there and fireworks.

Weezerfan_returns 04-28-2006 08:49 PM

In Wisconsin, hunting season is like a fashion show. The whole blaze orange thing is really big. hah.

What are you talking about with hardware stores...having dogs?

sam-a-lam 04-28-2006 09:06 PM
shirt paint by mixing the basic "fabric white" stuff that you can get a lot more commonly with any colour acrylic paint of your choice
i use only acrylic and it works just fine
only down side is its stiff for the first few washes

BCT 04-29-2006 11:01 PM

i love how long we have been talking about the smell of hardware stores and weather or not they contain a dog

But all that information is necessary for making decent DIY clothes!

Well, I tried to do my first two layered shirt. It didn't turn out great, because I put way too much paint on the second layer, and the detail was just too small. I Really wish I did a practice first, but... I wasn't thinking. Oh well.

It's also for MSI, a band that everyone in the forums seems to hate.

I just rubberbanded it in the back. Something I only recently started doing, and it's been helpful.

That didn't turn out too bad at all. I've got a friend that's obsessed with that band, and since he looks punkish (he wears hot topic pants and has blue hair) all the poser kids fell in love with MSI. Just a funny story I thought I'd share.

mullets suk 05-01-2006 05:29 PM

i know these questions are looked down upon, so sorry if you get pissed at me.

anyways, Im buying a military olive drab jacket from the surplus place later on this week. And I want to stencil something on the back of it. The thing is i cant think of any bands that would look real good on the back of a military jacket.

The only two bands that i can think of are CockSparrer and The Clash. Wot do you think of these. Or are there any other bands that you think would look good?

Anarcho Poser 05-01-2006 05:48 PM

I'm not sure what you mean by look good.

mullets suk 05-01-2006 06:26 PM
I'm not sure what you mean by look good.
i most likely worded that wrongly so sorry.

When i say looks "good", i mean that some bands wouldnt look as great on one color/jacket as another band would. such as a Descendents "milo goes to college" pic wouldnt go well with a military style jacket. But a Clash pic may look better. this could be because of wot they wore, or wot there music sounds like.

i dont know if that makes any more sence. Its also all in opinion, and i guess thats more of wot im asking.

Basically "if you had an olive drab military jacket wot band/stencil would you put on the back??"

asdf 05-01-2006 08:13 PM
