Hahahaha, Lars wanted Bobo banned because he got told to STFU? Pshht.
I never honestly knew the full scoop on plexi, except that he had rivalry with Jeremy for some reason.

Can anyone tell me the full story?
Abridged version;

Plex was a mod. Sometime around March 2004, LightRaven told mx that she'd gotten an email saying that someone with an IP that she had found matched plex's had tried to get into her account. mx demods plex, without asking his explanation first. He insists that he wasn't trying to 'hack' her account, but was testing the latest upgrade of vBulletin's security flaws (long story).

Then, plex decided to leave, and probably would have left the whole thing alone, had not he been left with mod powers in site. He made frequent requests for mx to demod him completely (he wasn't in the mod usergroup, but he had local powers in site). mx didn't, for a long time. plex started messing around in site (moving posts to other forums, etc - I should know, it happened to a post or two of mine), but still wasn't demodded.

Eventually he was demodded properly, but by then I suppose he'd started to enjoy messing with mx, and he had the fact that he was demodded. That's about it.

By the way MXican, I downloaded the Rush you uploaded and enjoyed it alot. Ok, I'm actually of to bed now.

RiceMonster 04-09-2005 06:19 PM
I think I only know bits, and they may not even be correct.
He was a Mod, but then got de-modded because he was accused of trying to hack another Mod's account(Lightraven's possibly?) which he claims he is innocent of. He then hacked the forums rather severely, get Ip banned, I think, and has recently been pardoned by Jeremey which is why he's back.

I have no idea how much of the above is correct or whatever.
Wow, I though he was just a major problem user. I never new he was a mod.

Cool :) What did you think of his accent?

Bartender 04-09-2005 06:22 PM
*throws log on fire*

What I think happened is this...in March/April last year, there was a login glitch in vbulletin, which meant new user accounts could be accessed by typing in the username, but leaving the password blank. Plex checked this glitch on supermod accounts, and LightRaven's was the 6th he tried. When he tried and failed to login on her account, she got an e-mail saying his IP had tried to login to her account 5 times. She told Jeremy, who demodded him. Since then he's intermittently caused mild chaos, and been IP banned multiple times.
Yeah, listen to this guy, that's the bit that was glazed over with "(long story)" in my post.

Illmatic 04-09-2005 06:22 PM
Cool :) What did you think of his accent?
Uh, I thought it was good? Is he Irish or Scottish or what? This was about a year ago, so I don't remember completely.

That was pretty random.
Second to who?

Just kidding. I still think of them as the best live band I've seen, but only by the slightest whisker above a couple of other bands I've seen.

Thats where i read about Plexiglass, it goes on for a few pages, its pretty interesting...

Jom 04-09-2005 06:27 PM

Heh, that was my point... you took offense to something on the Internet and bitched about it.

/didn't feel like quoting him

NP: 30 Seconds to Mars- "Capricorn"

So that Palahniuk book I'm reading is still quite twisted. I'm almost done with it, though, and it's a hell of a lot better of a read than my uni work.

munky_magik 04-09-2005 06:27 PM

I thought that G3 was a better show, but marginally.
And Ray, he's from Newcastle.
Uh, I thought it was good? Is he Irish or Scottish or what? This was about a year ago, so I don't remember completely.

He's English :) And yeah, it was kind of random I suppose, it's just that a geordie accent is one of the more interesting/extreme of english accents, and I wondered about an American view of it.

Kurtz 04-09-2005 06:30 PM

I never got all the different variations of British accents.

LarsAgi007 04-09-2005 06:31 PM

Randem question here, Is it just me or has steerpike not been around for a while???
I am missing that guy lol, hes pretty cool

Bartender 04-09-2005 06:33 PM

Nah, he's been around. Posting a little less, maybe, but around nonetheless.
I never got all the different variations of British accents.
Yes, he's been around here a lot. He just doesn't post in here very often. And yes, Steerpike is a cool guy. One of the best R&M posters in my opinion.

Illmatic 04-09-2005 06:34 PM

He was pretty hard to understand, now that you mention it.

LarsAgi007 04-09-2005 06:35 PM

Hell yea, i agree with you on that one, he is awesome.. Some of the jokes he posted in the musical jokes thread were amazing lol

Jom 04-09-2005 06:42 PM

Is anyone in their power to upload Shinedown's cover of "Simple Man" for me? People whom I have spoken to say it's an excellent cover, and no one on the network has it.

Kurtz 04-09-2005 06:42 PM
How do you mean?
Well, I've heard there's Cockney and Geordie and all of these other variations.

What's the most stereotyped and most common?

Bartender 04-09-2005 06:47 PM

Well they're all just regional variations, so I'm not sure if there can be a most common (except going by the number of people living in each region, I suppose).

As for stereotyping, every different regional accent (as in the people who speak with it) makes fun of all the others. Some more than others, I suppose.

RiceMonster 04-09-2005 06:47 PM

So what country is everyone from? (Just curious)

I'm from Canada.

Illmatic 04-09-2005 06:48 PM

Efil: I think those are Britain's versions of the Boston accent, the New York accent, the southern accent, the midwest accent, etc.

Ah.

Tis a regional thing.

munky_magik 04-09-2005 06:51 PM

Well, I'm gonna head to bed.
G'night all
