isn't it interesting that becomming smarter and more knowledgable for free is seen as a bad/boring thing?

i hate not being challanged, like in math this year i am challanged for once and i have a mark in the high 90's. last year when i could sleep through all the classes and not do anything and just write the tests because it was easy i got a mark in the low 80's. so beig challanged makes a differance.

SChool CAN have nice lessons, after that point you have to see what it can bring for your future.. I have a goal in mind so I must finish this school before I can achieve that goal. If you have no goal, it is pretty fast boring yeah.

But school is nice because of the friends and the breaks (where I am 9 out of 10 times found in music class hehe) and it is fun to organize things --> like the stunt the exam classes will have, I'm one of the people who organizes it this year.. than school is nice.. it is what you make it of :D

lemoley 03-09-2005 03:30 PM

hey guys hows it going i just got back from band practice

you are so right, school is what you make out of it. if you sat that it is going to be boring, well guess what it is going to be boring. just fool around and take drama(the slackest class ever, come on you get a credit for fooling around) and you will have fun.

Frank Zappa is a king.

kilian 03-09-2005 03:35 PM

^^ yeah! or spend every break/free hour by playing music.. *lucky that half of his band is at the same school*

And try to organize a lot of things if you like that.. there are lots of nice things to do at school, just discover them

nisakss 03-09-2005 03:38 PM

I feel ignored....nobody noticed my request for info on Fender Mustangs

So?

I know a 40 year old guy who is just REALLY NICE.. he kinda runs the band practise facility were we practise, he is a verry nice musican in his genre (punk/rock n roll and all that is related to that) He was also the bassist of Link Wray..

And I know him now and he's a verrry nice guy.. and he is like uhm 23 years older than me :D but none would say!

And I would really like it to start a band with him.. age doesn't matter in music :thumb:

By the way.. The used - in love and death.. wonderful

nisakss 03-09-2005 03:49 PM
what do you want to know
Well, bassically what type of sound the have, if its more like a p-bass or a jazz.

Thanks. :thumb:

lemoley 03-09-2005 03:53 PM

p bass sound : ) hope that helped

fatbandit 03-09-2005 04:05 PM

Okay, is Neal around? Or are we delaying our world domination plans again?

And what's the tuning for a soprano ukulele? Seeing as how its turned up, and its tiny and yellow (and has a bright yellow little gig bag, haha)

nisakss 03-09-2005 04:05 PM
p bass sound : ) hope that helped
Great, thanks a lot. I think I'm gonna get it. It is short scale, right?

Not at my school. We're always having fun in my class.
Maybe it's because my teacher just turned 27.

Spaceman Spiff 03-09-2005 04:16 PM

Stupid drama?

neal_672 03-09-2005 04:17 PM

Stupid Drama generally goes away, I dropped it asap our lessons just involved beating up various people, quite fun now i look back

exit 03-09-2005 04:18 PM

Radiobass81 03-09-2005 04:20 PM
Great, thanks a lot. I think I'm gonna get it. It is short scale, right?
Yup. 30" if I'm not mistaken.

I prefer 34" or 32" myself...

its the length of the neck, right???
i just want to be sure, sorry if this is a really noobish question
Yup. 30" if I'm not mistaken.

I see.... I really want a fender p-bass, but those are hard to find round here.....so I think the Msutang would be a good buy. The thing is that the guy lives in another city, so playing it beforehand is impossible.

smellslikeshoes 03-09-2005 04:22 PM

Death Death Death I have just found out that my name has been put down for a gig with some guys in front of 500 people. I have to learn battery by metallica to play it on monday.Battery is not an easy song to play with fingers. Death Death death

neal_672 03-09-2005 04:24 PM

Death? What? w00t, good luck :thumb:

fatbandit 03-09-2005 04:25 PM

Pssh, Battery ain't too bad. Just learn to use your 3rd finger for that E on the A string to get the gallop down and you're laughing.

And I still need to know a soprano Ukulele tuning >.<

You'll be pleased to hear I'm going to a ska show tonight.:thumb:

neal_672 03-09-2005 04:28 PM

Ska shows rule, skanking is officially the most fun thing ever :thumb: Who you going to see Risbo?

Radiobass81 03-09-2005 04:30 PM

Exit: Length from the nut to the bridge.

Nisaks: That's rather risky, since you might either: a) not like the tone or b) not like the smaller fret spaces... I would atleast try out a bass with a 30" scale, as a precision tone isn't something to dislike IMO, so that's not a problem.

Of course.. I've never played a Mustand :upset:.

risbo 03-09-2005 04:31 PM

 Yeah I love skanking, I'm seeing the frostbite tour, with planet smashers, Guttermouth and Ghosts of Modern Man.

Edit: Well acctualy I geuss it's more of a punk show, but I'm going to see planet smashers so I'm calling it a ska show...
