Am I a Poet?

I can't decide if I allow myself to get really sad or if it's just a natural problem.

I can't decide if I allow my work to help me hide or if my work forces me to be hidden.

I can't decide if making plans is the only way to accomplish everything, or the mechanism of the methodic murder of my soul.

I can't decide if plans are different from dreams. Are plans just another way to disappoint yourself be never seeing their successful conclusion?

I can't decide if I'm living my life or my life is living me.

I don't think I know me.

My love, my love, I'm sorry for these silly questions.

I know I don't know me, my question is, do you?

/yay for a random weblog entry I thought was fun.

ps vote plz

No Vince why would I ever mock you?

I just compared you to arguably the greatest American poet ever.

Permanent Solution 03-07-2007 01:04 AM

Robert Frost really isn't that good tbh. =\

pop punk doesn't like me anymore :(

MattSharpIsCool 03-07-2007 01:54 AM

Eh I dont read poetry. I just know the name.

Vince, let me put it this way. Sometimes life throws you a curveball, and you just gotta get down there, scoop it up, and run with it. What I'm trying to say is this...I forgot what I was trying to say, but that poem was kind of cool.

Permanent Solution 03-07-2007 01:58 AM

refl oh. =\ Silly American school system indoctrination.

hahaha, alright, well I have learned my lesson then <_<

F.T.A. is the proper abbreviation for the phrase "Failed To Achieve."

They were cliche though.

Permanent Solution 03-08-2007 12:37 AM

yeah but cliche>>>>original for the sake of original

the latter i tend to do musically though =\

MattSharpIsCool 03-08-2007 12:46 AM

Thank you Vince, that right there is exactly how I feel. I wasn't sure anyone else thought the same thing.

tbh if you listen to the music i write you'd call me a hypocrite =\

but i mean art is a form of expression and society tries very hard to make everyone clones so is it hard to believe "cliche" does accurately describe many people very well? I hope not. Everyone is cliche, there's no such thing as individualism anyways.

MattSharpIsCool 03-08-2007 12:58 AM

I'm watching some music show from 1968, hosted by the Rolling Stones, called "Rock n' Roll Circus" or something. It's pretty cool. Got some nice early footage of Jethro Tull and The Who. It's also got a performance by a group made up of John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, and Mitch Mitchell. That right there is good stuff.

TheBigMachine 03-08-2007 01:00 AM

ya true true but dude you still gotta try break the mold. if you do it with music not teh english thats cool too

Permanent Solution 03-08-2007 01:09 AM

Mitch: dunno how much melodic stuff you know but my latest song goes:
D/A# D/A F G D/A# D/A Fm/Ab G A A11b F#dim/Ab B7b/Ab

Caen 03-08-2007 05:26 AM

No.

I heard him playing it from inside Matt's fridge at one of the parties V occasionally has.

'SUP SPAIN? SPAIN TODAY MOTHERFUCKERS!

MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

(Yesterday was our first Concert Band Festival, and we played a song called Africa, which is a mad intense percussion based song [YEAH!] and now today is the Jazz Band part of the Festival, and we play a mad cool song called Spain, that's a samba, so rythem ftw)

TheBigMachine 03-08-2007 05:28 AM

I agree, I agree, rhythm for the win.
Rhythm rep.

I think so but music is super subjective :p

superpeer 03-08-2007 11:46 AM

That's such a subjective thing to say, Vince.

PDWAB resigned. =(

bottlerocket 03-08-2007 11:48 AM

Yeah, Joel left after 5 years of posting on mx. He resigned so we're taking the next step: looking for a new mod.

I said I'd take his spot, gladly, but I've been ranting about how we need more mods and more help, so I think it would perhaps be best if we modded someone and I just keep doing what I normally do for here.

I suggested Vince. I've been trying to get him modded for about a year now.

:p

Since this is your forum and I trust a lot of you, do any of you have any input as to who you'd like to see as the new mod? If this was GD or guitar, that would be different, but this is a real tightly-knit community and I don't see any reason why you guys shouldn't have an input.

hmmm?

That's not too surprising tbh =\ I'll miss Joel though. Still have his phone number though <_<

Gav: :)

PS all the discussion of Yellowcard here lately has gotten me back into a Yellowcard phase again.

bottlerocket 03-08-2007 11:52 AM

Yeah, Joel is an awesome guy and a great mod back in the day when he was here. He's barely here at all, anymore, so I respect his decision to leave.

Vince imgonnagitumodded <_<

Yellowcard is good...sometimes...depending on what mood I'm in and what album(s) we're talking about.
