Wintermute, I need your help. Im trying to transcribe a violin piece to bass, but I cant read treble clef. Soooo... if, im playing a high c (5th fret on g) the where on the staff would that be in treble cleff?

Tryxx 03-08-2005 11:18 PM

That would be middle C, I think. (Anyone confirm this?) It's one ledger line above the top A.

Wait, wait... I'm thinking in bass clef.

In treble clef middle C is one line below the low E. (The bottom line.)

Mr. Jiggy Fly 03-08-2005 11:31 PM

Wow... thats really high then. Im transcribing pagainis 24th aprice, so ill need a 6er inorder to play comfortably.

Mr. Jiggy Fly 03-08-2005 11:33 PM

Whats in that video?

Saitoku 03-08-2005 11:43 PM
Whats in that video?
It's just a picture of a..... girl.

Anyway, I looked it up, and yeah, the high C on the bass is the same as the low C (on the G string) of a violin.

So that basically means that the high G string on the bass is the same as the low G on a violin.

I think they're actually an octave apart, (I may be wrong) but for notation purposes they're treated the same.

good rats 03-08-2005 11:46 PM

Its just a chick. Well, it isn't much of a chick.

irishslappop 03-08-2005 11:48 PM

good rats 03-09-2005 12:24 AM

Imagine trying to play bass with nails like those.

Saitoku 03-09-2005 12:27 AM

Forget bass, imagine trying to sleep or eat with nails like that.

:amaze:

good rats 03-09-2005 12:38 AM

Imagine wiping your arse with nails like that. Man, that would be a good one to see. He should just get them cut off, its ridiculous...

Saitoku 03-09-2005 12:41 AM

From the looks of that photo he may have tried.

good rats 03-09-2005 12:44 AM

He'd be in a bit of a pickle if his right arm got amputated...

Saitoku 03-09-2005 12:46 AM

True. How do you even begin going about clipping your nails if you've only got one hand?

Anyway, I'm gonna go to bed.

Night.
