Hooray! Mxtabs is back up!

Permanent Solution 02-23-2006 10:16 PM

Dude, that is so 12 hours ago Chris...

:-*

Yeah I'm glad too, a lot of the best ones are here. I'm tempted to save them now just in case :-\

cbmartinez 02-23-2006 10:19 PM

Yeah, this place has not been playing nice with me the last couple days. Plus I just had to register for the SAT and look for colleges for the last two hours. Super happy about mx being up though.

Permanent Solution 02-23-2006 10:21 PM

Yeah, I think there were server issues while Jeremy was putting mxtabs back up.

SAT is a blast :p

I'm looking to major in history and minor in either psychology or english I suppose. I'm having my scores sent to Wake Forest, American University (in DC), James Madison, Oberlin (I'm considering a music minor), and N.C. State.

Permanent Solution 02-23-2006 10:26 PM

Hehehe, history majors...

I know of Oberlin and Wake Forest, not so much the others. Al east coast though?

PDWAB 02-23-2006 10:49 PM

ha, and I thought being a music major was dumb!

What kind of jobs does a history major lead to? (I actually wanna know, I'm not trying to discourage you or anything. I'd consider doing history as a minor.)

I'm thinking of majoring in psychology. Or sociology.

Mute Print 02-23-2006 11:48 PM

I have no idea what I want to major in. :-\

I still have some time though, I guess.

History teacher or Grad school.

If you practice 2 hours a day like you say you do, just do a music major. You're half way there.

(Aren't you smart at everything? )
History teacher or Grad school.
That's it? Christ. That's lame as hell.

Imagine Chris as a teacher...

He'd probably ask his students if they had an drugs...and then he'd smoke them.

He could always work in a museum.

I've gone away from practicing much as of late. :( I need to start again.

And yes, I do pretty well in everything.

Haha, yeah, that's most of the applications right there :-\

That would be grand.

There has to be a class you like best. (based on subject, not teacher or classmates)

For example, I like Biology, English, and World History. I get A's in those classes, and I'm taking honors in each of them next year (although WH turns into US history.)

And I'd consider majoring in each one of them.

Math and spanish? Hah, no thanks. I hate those ****ing classes/subjects. (although I still manage Bs.)

Mute Print 02-24-2006 12:07 AM

I generally enjoy math. Chemistry has been fairly enjoyable, as was Biology.

I hate history and english, and although I like Spanish and do very well in it, I can't seeing going much further in it.

I'm going the other way with all my classes. I take honors classes now, (except in history), but next year I plan to drop to regents, because in most cases, it's either Regents or AP.

Ew....math. I have a really easy time remembering things usually, but math just seems so usually the way they do it.

y= ax^2 + bx + c

y= why the **** do I care?

At least physics applies actually values and such so those numbers actually mean something. I do decently in physics.

**** AP. Cuts too much into my TV time. I think I'll take AP psych in my senior year, though. For ****s and giggles.

I took all regular courses this year, and it was a mistake. I'm taking three honors next year...and that's probably a mistake too :p

Permanent Solution 02-24-2006 12:15 AM

Without math there would be no physics. Newton invented Calculus to do Physics.

AP is the best use of time ever.

Haha, sometimes I feel that way, but for the most part math has always been fairly interesting to me.

I'm probably taking physics next year. I might just take general physics so I don't have to do labs.

AP is a waste. Plus, you have to pay for exams, which is lame.

Suck my nuts, Vince.

Like I said, math is cool when the numbers mean something. If it's just random values that someone pulled out of their ***, and there is no purpose of finding the sum/product/remainder/whatever, then I don't care.

Better to pay $80 for exams than $1000 for college courses.

Meh, that's true, but AP courses aren't necessarily needed to get a decent scholarship.

Permanent Solution 02-24-2006 12:31 AM
Meh, that's true, but AP courses aren't necessarily needed to get a decent scholarship.
No, but they get you out of classes. If I wasn't on a 4 year scholarship so that I want to be here 4 years I'd be done in 2 1/2 probably due to APs.

Mute Print 02-24-2006 12:33 AM

Hmm, that's a good point. I still have a few weeks to think about what I want to take before scheduling.

The only AP offered to sophomores in my school is European history, which I passed up because I hate history.

If I wasn't lazy, I could probably more or less guarantee myself a full scholarship. :-\

Permanent Solution 02-24-2006 12:36 AM

Euro is one of if not the hardest AP I took. If you took it as a Soph...not to be arrogant but you'd probably not do that well. It requires tremendous writing skills most Sophs don't have. My AP Euro teacher forced all the Sophs in our class to drop or change teachers because he wants students who will do well :p

Mute Print 02-24-2006 12:39 AM

I know a couple sophomores who take AP, and I've heard it's really difficult. I'm definitely glad I didn't take it.

Permanent Solution 02-24-2006 12:45 AM

It was very hard. I didn't even do work and it was hard. The people who tried in that class...Jesus. Literally hours of work per night. Yay for me and not trying ever.

Still got a 5 though :D

Mute Print 02-24-2006 12:47 AM

Haha, nice.

I never work at anything. If I was willing to put in the time, I could probably handle most classes, but I'd rather put in no effort and cruise through.

Permanent Solution 02-24-2006 12:50 AM

Exactly.

The great thing is that I handle classes well enough anyways though *shrug*

PS YOu're up damn late kid...

Mute Print 02-24-2006 12:52 AM

Hahaha, I'm taking full advantage of break. Too bad it's only one week. :(

I didn't wake up until 1:00 this afternoon, so I think that's part of why I'm not tired.

Permanent Solution 02-24-2006 12:57 AM

you're already on break? boo.

I was up till 3 or 4 last night, and I am falling asleep in my chair, I still have to make my bed too, damn. I'll be off soon heh.

Mute Print 02-24-2006 12:58 AM

Yeah, we get one week in February and one week at Easter. I'd prefer to go back to two weeks at Easter, but I'm not complaining about the time off.

I'll probably be off soon as well.

You had like a month at Christmas time. We get 10 days.

haha, the last time I washed my sheets I just threw them on the bed and fell asleep. What a mess.
