Anyway what I felt at the time doesn't matter . . . can somebody explain to me why bans in Pop-Punk in 2007 have already eclipsed the mark for Pop-Punk user bans in 2006?
Because the quality of the newest wave of posters drops each cycle. Now, I can't explain why this is true, but it is.

I think the vets here are also becoming much less friendly for whatever reason which is a sad trend to me. There's a lot of elitism going around that is far from even deserved. Some of the oldest users here like Seth and Jared are still cool as hell and not all that elitist. Meanwhile newer users are kinda acting like dicks. *shrug*

btw@ Stew: I'm on more than I post. There's not much to post about in here anymore =\

@lunch: Well there's no way to force users to post outside of here, trust me, we've tried many times.

MattSharpIsCool 03-04-2007 09:05 PM

Really, when you look at the other genre forums, they're not all that different from this one. They're all based around the community thread and thats about it. The only difference is they have more users and have a broader range of topics to cover. The pop-punk forum is confined to one, relatively small genre of music.

A lot of the older regs in here have moved on to the punk or hardcore forums, because they fit they're musical tastes better, so we've been losing a lot of our regular posters. The new people who replace them don't know what we've discussed in here, so we start getting a whole new wave of duplicate threads and stuff like that.

Another mod might be a decent idea, but I dont know if there's really anyone in this forum worthy of the mod position. Vince could probably do it, but I know he's really active in other forums as well.

cobert 03-04-2007 09:12 PM

I post a lot in hc/e now. I still post here pretty often though. Just sometimes i come in this forum and theres all these weird threads that I dont know how to respond to. I really have no clue whats going on with this forum.

Screw getting a new mod, just super Brian. Its not like one whole nights worth of spam will ruin this place, Im sure this forum could sit overnight without somebody to watch over it.

BridgeToSolace 03-04-2007 09:14 PM
He probably should, though, after someone gets added. My understanding from others (which shouldn't replace me seeing it from Gav himself) is that his involvement with H/E has crippled (no pun intended, I assure you) him from being one of the best moderators the forums had to someone who's become numb (again, no pun intended) to the job and is otherwise pretty ambivalent.
Honestly, modding isn't that important.

Sure, it's good to keep PP from becoming the pit, but really a moderate amount of off topic stuff is okay. Activity is activity, and activity is good.

(This is not a dump on Brian or Gav, I swear to god)

I don't post because I've found other stuff to do. Whether it be watching anime or writing music or watching TV or playing videogames. I stopped learning new bands from MX in general more than a year ago, so I just don't have much incentive to come back, besides awesome people who aren't here much anyway.

I stopped learning about new music a year ago in general :( I need new ****.

bottlerocket 03-04-2007 09:17 PM

Hahaha, posting in HC/E made me a bad mod?

I mod HC/E totally differently than the bass forum. I mod every forum, basically. I'm not the main mod but I check every forum and close threads, delete posts, etc. I mod each forum relative to what the forum is like.

Mad lols ITT.

I check this forum basically every weekday, between 10 and 1 pm, and 8 to midnight, and randomly in between 1 and 8, bee tee dubz.

To be honest, there is never any modding to be done here. Trust me, I know. Getting another mod is pointless and not needed at all. There are no problems in this forum.

ps i would give you new music if you liked more than one type of music. =\

pps you like bad music

bottlerocket 03-04-2007 09:21 PM

I agree, Vince is a very good candidate for mod, but pop-punk doesn't need one.

I would totally vouch for him and I have told him this before on many occasions. I just don't think pop-punk needs another mod. Brian is on here a lot and I'm on, too. I'm not a default mod but I mod here all the time...there's just never any work to do, really, haha.

I like music that I can bop my head to. Seriously, that's all, pretty much.

You like pretentious music.

cobert 03-04-2007 09:26 PM

Super Brian.

'nuff said.

I just come here because I dont have anything else to do sometimes. Theres a point somewhere in my day where i WILL be online, and my options are staring at people on myspace and getting pissed off because they suck or coming on here.

EDIT:

His words, not mine.

bottlerocket 03-04-2007 09:29 PM

I don't see why Brian SHOULDN'T be supered, but why should he be? Just wondering...

BridgeToSolace 03-04-2007 09:30 PM

Is it just me or are people who hate people on myspace almost as annoying as people on myspace?

bottlerocket 03-04-2007 09:31 PM

You mean people that constantly hate on MySpace for being so trendy when hating on MySpace is in and of itself extremely trendy, if not moreso today?

If so, I agree.

BridgeToSolace 03-04-2007 09:33 PM

Kinda weird that it's just as trendy to be on myspace as it is to hate myspace.

Although myspace is totally last year. It's all about facebook, these days.

And I don't have either! Ha!

PsychoTronn 03-04-2007 09:33 PM

just because something is trendy doesn't necessarily make it bad, things get popular for a reason

Permanent Solution 03-04-2007 09:34 PM

i have both

but i actually think myspace is a quality networking tool, it has helped me a lot musically tbh
i have both

even the big bands use it, it's a great way to get music around

BridgeToSolace 03-04-2007 09:36 PM
just because something is trendy doesn't necessarily make it bad, things get popular for a reason
And that reason isn't always based on the merits of the thing that is popular.

but yeah, myspace is good for music.

DJ Ducksauce 03-04-2007 09:36 PM

Not too many people at my school use FB too much. Both have their own nice features.

BridgeToSolace 03-04-2007 09:39 PM

I hate facebook.

I have a little blank myspace acount I use to check out chicks in my school.

I can't do that with facebook, which makes me RAWR ANGRY.

Especially since this one super hot chick has a facebook and not a myspace. That gets to me :(

Permanent Solution 03-04-2007 09:41 PM

Pazz 03-04-2007 09:42 PM

"But Jon, their bodies are so...Proportional!"

Yeah, shove it, Vince!

B 03-04-2007 09:47 PM

and besides you an i both know who i'm attracted to. =\

DJ Ducksauce 03-04-2007 09:47 PM

I use Myspace more often atm. I have 299 Myspace friends compared to my 20ish friends on Facebook.

I like how Facebook is very organized and tells every single detail though.

Because face book generally only lets you befriend people who are actually actually your friend, rather than just people who go through this conversion:

"I like corn!"

"Omg me to!"

/friended
