There was this bizare disney cartoon called Titan AE, it was kiddy-level, but the concepts were great. seen it?

White Riot! 11-12-2006 06:46 PM

one of my favourite backgrounds is from an RPG called paranoia. set in a dystopian apocalyptic future similar to 1984,

The game is set in Alpha Complex, an immense and futuristic domed or underground city (GM's decision) controlled by The Computer, a schizophrenic civil service AI. The Computer has made happiness mandatory. Failure to be happy is punishable by summary execution.

The Computer fears a number of threats to its 'perfect' society, such as The Outdoors, mutants, and secret societies (especially communists). Ironically, Alpha Complex is inhabited solely by mutant secret society members. To deal with these threats, The Computer employs Troubleshooters, whose job is to solve problems (they go out, find trouble and shoot it). Frequently the solution involves identifying and terminating mutants and secret society members.

A lot of black humour

haha sounds very adult-RD

I am aware of how much Star Trek apparently sucks. I am aware of the infinite plot holes, lame and illogical science, and poor characterization. I am aware that more than one character was essentially introduced for the sole purpose to fix problems.

I don't care, though. I watch it like people watch Sex and the City, not sci-fi. It's mindless entertainment.

Anyways, I am neither talented or motivated enough to write science fiction. I've read some sci-fi, like Vonnegut and Gibson. It's too complex for me to bother writing a short story about. I'm not really writing the story for the atmosphere, I'm writing it as a breif comedic examination of how pathetic someone could be in that they would seriously contemplate having sex with themselves instead of saving the universe.
Creative writing is not my forte. I'd prefer to keep it as brief and uninvolved as possible.

) are usually Troubleshooters, although later game supplements offered other roles for player characters. The PCs are invariably traitors of the very sort feared by The Computer. The PCs are usually given incomprehensible or self-contradicting mission goals, dangerous, faulty or experimental futuristic gizmos as equipment. The PCs also often are given contradictory missions from their secret societies. Paranoia missions are typically fatal for the troubleshooters.

Dystopian settings do own...

I still consider Babylon 5 to be up at the top of scifi though.

or don't.

ofDooM 11-12-2006 07:51 PM

im in the process of it.

EDIT: ill just go indepth for now...

In middle school (2 years ago), I actually did work. my standards were high. If I got a B id be disappointed, but I always ended up with a B or two.

High school came; I decided that I would get serious and earn myself straight A's. The end of the semester came and I had a range from C's-A's. Thats very poor in my eyes, very poor. Same thing next semester. I tried so hard to study, do my work, etc.

This year I moved to a new school. I didnt have any friends, and I had a rough start. I hadnt exercised for a few months, which could possibly affect me. It was really depressing going to school. I had every reason in the back of my head to work as hard as I could.

So far, its going decent. Im trying everything to keep a healthy body and mind. I can hardly tolerate any work and my temper is pretty terrible.

One of the worsts points you guys may think about me is that I have plenty of time to practice drums, but I dont practice contructively at all.

BanninatedbySubtle 11-12-2006 08:24 PM

Hey guys, can I ask some advice? Okay, great! How much rent for a room in my apartment should I ask my mate for? We're going half-and-half for all bills and not having a land-line, so it'll be pretty low expensed. I was thinking $125AU per week? Is that too much?

Does anyone play a hi hat and bass drum with each foot?

Im thinking of doing a very advanced foot coordination lesson, With all the exercises involving 2 pedals on each side.

I could attach my slave pedal and put my cowbell at my right foot. :thumb:

I realized on friday exactly how tough it is to mount rack toms on a Pearl Forum. It's basically impossible. I now completely understand when I see Pearl Forums set up like they're generally set up. Even my CB's can find a decent spot with just the "stock" hardware.

Berk 11-12-2006 09:04 PM

Derek Roddy does.

I'm making another Underoath drumming vid, And A Senses Fail one.

EMO TO THE CORE!

Janeway 11-12-2006 09:07 PM

Thatd work. I can't login to the Lesson section, so I'll probably just start a thread once I finish it.
