Why don't you just a screenshot of that face, make it larger and print it out...
Because it wall be all pixellated.

We should have an M(aiden)X Reading meet up. I might try organise that closer to the time, though.

the_uber_penguin 04-09-2005 09:40 AM
The trooper is possibly one of the easiest songs I know (after the Wickerman), just learn the Adrian solo (soooooooooooo easy) and then just learn the key phrases in Daves solo and then do a bit of shredding.

For the Wickerman, I strip the tab that I got for the solo to the bare bones, learn the first two riffs in the solo and then only play the key phrases within the solo with some of my own patented fills.

Oh and you should never EVER learn someone elses solo exactly, I hate that, the Solo is the expression of the Guitarist, not the person who wrote the song and it's not what you play, it's how you play it!

/end guitar lesson :smoke:
Yeah, I can do The Wicker Man solo. I can't shred though. Your idea is a good plan for covers though.

My band do an "Iron Maiden tribute"...we do parts of each song (normally the chorus, not always though).

It goes:

Sanctuary (intro+1st verse) - The Wicker Man - Dream Of Mirrors - Paschendale (instrumental interlude, up to "Rush of blood and over we go") - Run To The Hills (bridge after solo up to the end).

We don't do any solo's because I don't trust myself to not freeze and muff it up on stage. I'm a rhythm player naturally.

Ozzfest tourdates which include both Black Sabbath AND Iron Maiden are only for about a month. But the closest one for me just happens to be in that area! Hey, I might be able to see two awesome bands when many cities will only be seeing one or the other!

Josh 04-11-2005 05:57 AM

yeh...maiden supported by ORIGINAL GNR, or maiden supported by metallica (yes, maiden > metallica)

dream theater are good though.

Thunder Fingers 04-11-2005 06:05 AM

i think d.t is gonna support maiden on more than one gig.... personally, if d.t opens for maiden. i will be sleeping when maiden goes on...

Deth 04-11-2005 08:11 AM

Dream Theater with Megadeth this summer!

by the time their cacophony of noise is done, the ppl who are there for the real concert will be so pleased to see maiden you could hear the cheering from Japan.

think about it...

ashman 04-11-2005 01:12 PM

Darkness opening for Maiden? No no no no no....

Thunder Fingers 04-11-2005 01:16 PM

gotta agree.. they wouldnt survive a half song....

ashman 04-11-2005 01:18 PM

I think I'd prefer FFAF over Darkness, that's how much I hate them...

Dave and Adrian are both through to the next round of top 100 Guitarists :D

Thunder Fingers 04-11-2005 01:20 PM

YEAH!! :D:D:D if any of them get in the group with alex lifeson im gonna have major problems...(not realy.. alex is my fav guitaist EVER!)

 You'll be letting the Thread down, the Authority down, and yourself down.

Thunder Fingers 04-11-2005 01:26 PM

Sorry, but alex is the perfect guitarist..

Stew_Blink 04-11-2005 01:37 PM

No I'm the perfect guitarist..lol, not quite. I like Janick a fair bit as of late. He'd be my current favorite guitarist. I havn't been to this thread in age's..or so it seem's. Whats going on my fellow Maiden Fans?

Stew_Blink 04-11-2005 01:54 PM
We all need money....
I need money for headphones :upset: I need to "borrow" it from my parents..and then just not give it back..

Thunder Fingers 04-11-2005 02:25 PM

Janick is awsome... again i have to xpress my love for his solo in blood brothers.... ah... wonderful!

Deth 04-11-2005 02:41 PM

I can't tell the difference between Janicks and Adrians solos.

I'm just a loser though.

Josh 04-11-2005 03:04 PM

Adrian switches between different style within the same solos, Janick's are more melodic and Dave's are quite bluesy - i have trouble telling who's playing solos on the earlier albums though.

Deth 04-11-2005 03:06 PM

I know Dave from Adrian and Dave from Janick, but put them together and I'm confused.

Josh 04-11-2005 03:07 PM

lol...most of the time i just enjoy the solos without trying to work out who's playing it.

Thunder Fingers 04-11-2005 03:17 PM

i just noticed at rir that janick was playing it...

Josh 04-11-2005 03:18 PM

lol...i saw it discussed in here ages ago, then when i borrowed RiR i looked at who was playing which solos

ashman 04-11-2005 03:20 PM

I have no problem telling who plays when...but some solos I've noticed that Dave sounds a lot like Janick....

Danger Bird 04-11-2005 03:36 PM

Did anybody notice what happens when you line up the spines of the enhanced CDs?
