yeah, with all those copies of Watching From a Distance floating around waiting to be bought!

rattlehead42147 03-12-2008 06:23 AM
I'm glad. No doubt they're due the traditional MX backlash by now but f*** it they're a great band and have been for 10 odd years. I guess it's good that so many people are getting into the band, it's just a shame that very few of you are buying it. After all if you bought it then you'd get records from bands like Argus, The River, The Lamp of Thoth a lot quicker because the label would have more money to cover studio fees etc.

Yeah I know it's the typical Jondur rant about downloading, but the band and the label boss are friends of mine. And also I think that record is an all time classic and I don't understand why you wouldn't want to own it.
I wish I had the kind of connections you seem to have. I was actually thinking about buying the album soon but i almost never order from smaller labels.
yeah, with all those copies of Watching From a Distance floating around waiting to be bought!
It will be reissued by CYCLONE EMPIRE very soon. As will The Strength To Dream. CE have good distribution ( I bought my copies of the Solstice reissues from HMV) so you shouldn't have any problems. Watching From A Distance will also be released on vinyl by METAL SUPREMACY.

All these labels are 100% legit, if you get ripped off I will send you my Die-hard copy.

It's easy these days - everyone's got emails, websites and paypal. And you can check stuff out on Myspace so you don't have to spend money on an album you've never heard.

Anyway - I don;t mean to be so down - it's good that you're all appreciating a great band.

gmoneyguy 03-12-2008 08:23 AM

I really want to start getting some vinyls, so I may have to get the Watching From a Distance vinyl when it comes out.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-12-2008 08:57 AM

I'd buy lots of vinyls if I had something to play them on

Wow, you are incredibly lucky. I'd blow my money on a plane ticket instead of going to Quebec next summer if I could.

Nah, I was just kidding. I just really dislike the lyrics. Still listen to 'em pretty frequently though.

Nice avatar. :chug: Check your e-mail.

I ended up going to a free show at my radio station. I'm sure I'll catch them again.

ZapatoDiablo 03-12-2008 10:07 PM

I'm offering to anyone's entertainment pleasure a doom song I wrote/recorded this past weekend. It's a joke song and I'm no vocalist but I'm not making fun of the genre or anything. Anyways if anyone is bored...

Anybody heard of Worlds Below (or something like that) and can tell me if they're worth my time or not.

Also, Lee, thanks for the Doomshine. Rather good album.

gmoneyguy 03-14-2008 05:12 PM

I haven't, but have you tried searching for a myspace?

pate 03-15-2008 09:38 AM

*World Below

I like them a bit, but there are many other bands that are more worth your time.

Nostalgia 03-15-2008 12:41 PM

Epistle No. 81 is now definitely in my top 5 for Candlemass.

pate 03-15-2008 01:09 PM

It's not on my radar.

Do you like Chapter VI? If not, you're going on my ignore list.
*World Below

Yeah, that's the one. Guess I won't bother checking them out...I have too much stuff to check out already. Bunalti sucks because it produces a ton of stuff I want to download, and it's all rapidshare.

Eliminator 03-15-2008 05:02 PM

yeah its not like there are other sites out there with different links!

Shattered_Future 03-15-2008 05:27 PM

Yeah, but I'm too lazy to try and find other blogs. I just bitch instead.

Nostalgia 03-16-2008 10:53 PM

I think Count Raven would be so much better if it wasn't for those terrible Ozzy vocals. Everything else is top notch stuff.

the2stranger 03-17-2008 04:02 AM

Hell yeah.
Nothing like blasting Candlemass on an early morning.
I'm blasting some Evoken myself.
The latest album, a gem of funeral doom if you ask me.
Mare Erythraeum is such an awesome song.
Almost 8 minutes of instrumental, somewhat psychedlic madness.

Eliminator 03-17-2008 06:36 AM

their latest album sucks

the2stranger 03-17-2008 06:44 AM

It's ok.
But nothing beats the first two albums.
And nothing beats Messiah.

EDIT:
O wait, you're talking about Evoken?
:p
I love the new album.
Fat production, great riffs.
Relentless doom attack!

pate 03-17-2008 06:54 AM

The new Candlemass is great. I'd say it's their 5th best, after the first four. Right after it is Chapter VI.
I think Count Raven would be so much better if it wasn't for those terrible Ozzy vocals. Everything else is top notch stuff.
The vocals are fine. Great band.

ATM 03-17-2008 07:22 AM

Show on Friday was awesome, although I may have gotten a bit too drunk.

The only thing that sucked is that the sound guy quit a day or two prior and took all of his ****, so they weren't able to get the sound right.

Ol' Scratch debuted a new vocalist, yet you couldn't even hear him really. Band still rules, they covered some Spirit Caravan which was cool. Sherman from Earthride, Wretched, and Spirit Caravan was in the front row smoking bowls. He got on stage to sing for like 2 songs.

Revelation came on next, and they look so funny. I never imagined them to look how they do hahah They were good, though.

Then came Hounds of Hasselvander which were ****ing awesome. They played some songs and then had Bobby Liebling from Pentagram get up there and sing some songs.

Badass night.

pate 03-17-2008 07:33 AM

Revelation look like old farts.

ATM 03-17-2008 07:45 AM

The drummer looks like he could be your dad's best friend, the guitar player looks like one of those bedroom guitar player guys, and the bass player looked like Randy Jackson.

Phototropic 03-17-2008 09:01 AM

Prosperina are needing a drummer if anyone in South Wales is interested (South wales in the UK, not Oz)
