Maybe. But Noel Redding isn't in the same level as Jack Bruce. All that Redding did while Hendrix played was to play the same bassline over and over, the only other member of the Experience that pushed Hendrix was Mitch Mitchell.

But while Clapton did his extended solo, Bruce was right behind him, improvising, and the same goes for Baker. That's what made Cream's performance so famous. They all were taking by the energy the 3 members gave to each other to show their virtuosity and that they were truly the 'cream of the crop.'

Maybe what is because Redding isn't originally a bass player and only took it up because he needed money, but I think the Experience and Cream are way different.

I've always thought that Zeppelin capitalize on what Cream did, specially Page on Clapton. If Cream would have gone longer, Zeppelin might not have been as great as they turned out to be.

And now I wait for some Zeppelin fan to flame me.

Badmoon 09-25-2004 03:23 PM

Well, whoever said the relation was from skill? I'm just talking about similarities in general.

Woodstock 09-25-2004 03:24 PM

I want this as my new avatar. Can anyone shrink it for me?

It's 75 X 75, so just 5 pixels to big.

slowhand 09-25-2004 03:25 PM

I'm not talking about skill, but of their live performances. But that's not their general similiarities neither, I suppose. So I was talking, or should I say writting, out of context.

Badmoon 09-25-2004 03:26 PM

See, kids, there could be a debate. Hendrix vs. Cream

Woodstock 09-25-2004 03:30 PM

Please, anyone. I am horrible at computer techniques.

slowhand 09-25-2004 03:31 PM

Wooo... I like that! Great debate.

And I would help you Woodstock, but I don't have Photoshop any longer, so I can't. I use paint, and I don't know how to shrink them down in there.

magicbus 09-25-2004 03:59 PM

I love classic rock, what I don't love is the snobby little 10th and 9th grade bit.ches who listen to classic rock just cause it's popular again. my school is full of fake born-again hippy bit.ches who say any music past 1974 is bad. IT PISSES ME OFF GO LISTEN TO NIRVANA MISFITS AND AGENT ORANGE

Woodstock 09-25-2004 04:52 PM

Yeah, it definetely doesn't work, magicbus.

*sad*

Broken Arrow 09-25-2004 05:10 PM

awwwww. Whats the best Cream song in everybody's opinion

Mozzletoffed 09-25-2004 05:11 PM

Beatles are good, I'll probably be shot for saying this but I don't like led zepplin at all, alot of people in my school say I am a rock poser because of this..wierd. I just never got into Led Zepplin.

slowhand 09-25-2004 05:12 PM

Woodstuck, if that ever happens again, all you have to do is open that image on pain, go to File, then to Save As, and change the format from .bmp to .jpeg, .jpg or .gif and you can upload it yourself.

And I suppose that everyone is changing to B&W... That's odd.

EDIT:

Best Cream song? That's hard. But I guess the Cream essentials are "Sunshine of your Love," "White Room" and "Crossroads."

Woodstock 09-25-2004 05:12 PM

Nah, it's ok if you dont like Zeppelin.

Mozzletoffed 09-25-2004 05:12 PM

I did see a free eric clapton concert this summer. Let me reinact how i got to go
Ian(my friend who's mom is in radio): Danny, you're coming with me to see clapton tonight ok.
Me:WHAT?!
ian:bye, see you at 8.

MulliganBass 09-25-2004 05:12 PM

I'm 14 and 90% of my playlist is Classic Rock (70% being The Doors) and it does seem to be making a comeback. I see a lot of people listening to Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd in high school which really suprised me, seeing as in middle school I was like the only kid who listened to rock. However I dont really think id like to see it become some big craze like "punk" did. It would lose its class if every kid and there brother were wandering around listening to Jim Morrison having no idea what he was singing about, and just doing it to look cool.

Broken Arrow 09-25-2004 05:22 PM

Does anyone here like Frank Zappa?? Currently listening to Montana

Woodstock 09-25-2004 05:22 PM

John Lennon loved that song: "It's so wierd."

Broken Arrow 09-25-2004 05:24 PM

I like how they refer to Lucy in the Sky

its good for toking up :thumb:

That's it. I'm not particularly fond of the results, specially when I know that in photoshop it would have been easier and more precise. Anyways, have a look.

I like "I'm the Walrus" but not as much as other people. My favourite line of that song is the first one" "I'm he as you are he as you are me and we are all together."

Woodstock 09-25-2004 05:27 PM

I've seen the picture by Lennon's son that influenced him to write it.(Lucy inthe Sky, that is)

I think the Lennon one is more crisp.
