The SF one was better, cause they played DYERS EVE!!! Hell yeah!! That kicked some major major metal ***.[/QUOTE]

New game!

Here's a cool game: guess the Iron Maiden song from the tabs! Just go to mxtabs and copy some Maiden lines (not the whole song though!) and paste them here. Make sure to preview your post before posting to see if they came out right.

Good work, Maiden basslines are pure ownage

even if they aren't complex they still sound great

Why don't you try, "Running Free"? Then, from there, listen solely to the rest of, "Iron Maiden"(the entire CD) and learn the bass parts. In time, you can try out, "Losfer Words(Big 'Orra), off the "Powerslave" CD. It's 'bass'ically just doubling the guitar...........but it's such a cool song.

Also, learn the techniques that facilitate finger-picking in triplets, much like Steve Harris does. It's a good practice and it will make learning the bulk of other Maiden songs that much more complete and accurate. Good luck. :thumb:

Has anyone noticed in nearly every Maiden booklet that comes with the C.D, there's nearly allways a picture of Dave Murray holding a can of larger smiling?

The trooper is a cool bassline. I can play "The clairvoyant" pretty good and "sign of the cross". Other songs include "iron maiden" and most of "Fear of the Dark". Steve harris is a hell of a bassist, some of the bass lines he creates are just nuts. :p :naughty:

IAJP 01-30-2005 09:18 AM

Steve Harris, is, in my opinion, the greatest metal songwriter of all time.
And I've been listening to hella Powerslave today, the title track is the shiz'

IAJP 01-30-2005 09:35 AM

What would you say you prefer?
Phantom Of The Opera, Powerslave, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner or Dance Of Death?

:thinks:
I might go along with saying Powerslave..

Josh 01-30-2005 09:40 AM

hmmm...dance of death is pretty cool. but i'd probably say powerslave, its way cooler, and the lyrics are darker (IMO)

IAJP 01-30-2005 09:47 AM

Do you feel the kinda eastern(ish) riff with the sliding guitar?
That's so bloody awesome.

Josh 01-30-2005 09:51 AM

yeh it is.
ARGH! EUROPE - THE FINAL COUNTDOWN JUST CYCLED UP ON WINAMP!

*puts powerslave on instead

IAJP 01-30-2005 09:56 AM
