metal-militia 12-11-2004 06:42 AM

My Soulseek is Persecution Mania, and I have only 6 Ulysses Siren songs when i checked. How many albums do they have?

janickgersrocks 12-11-2004 09:54 AM

I like Megadeth, Old Metallica, Exodus, metal church. I am a death head too.

metal-militia 12-11-2004 10:07 AM

They only have one 'album' called Above the Ashes which is a collection of songs from their demos and such. It only has 7 songs I believe.

superpeer 12-11-2004 10:49 AM
^ What thrash do you like?
Children of Boredom don't count.
Children of Boredome changed their name.

Its a shame that such a good band has only 7 songs.

RCA 12-11-2004 12:51 PM

Superpeer, that is a wicked cool avatar!

Dargon, that Lykathea Aflame I got from you is ace. Is Elvenefris their only release?

NP: Necrophagist - Ignominious and Pale

superpeer 12-11-2004 01:02 PM

Thanks.
Is Elvenefris their only release?
Unfortunately, yes. They have changed their name now to Lykathe, and are currently recording a new album

RCA 12-11-2004 03:19 PM

^ Ah, thanks for the info.

Has anyone heard any material by Holocross? If so, let me know how it was.

Anyway, I found time ealier to listen to Punishment for Decadence, I think it's awesome, I don't know if you could call it thrash but there's just something about the sound which I'm drawn to. I also listened to Coma of Souls and well, what can I say, It's kreator arguably at their best, they seem to get more structured each time I buy an album by them, but then again I have bought their first 5 albums in order of release. God, I think I'm looking more forward to 17th Jan than Xmas.

It's thrash, trust me! And **** awesome thrash at that.

Ulysses Sirens are a bay area band that were around in the mid 80's but never released any meterial. I don't know why, as they were one of the very best. Kind of Heathen with *most* of the melody gone, combined with the frenetic style of vio-lence with a slightly toned down Paul Baloff on vocals. No it isnt the exodus vocalist, but it sounds like him. Awesome band.

manuscriptreplica 12-11-2004 09:01 PM

Aura Noir are great

sensitiveorgan00 12-11-2004 10:03 PM

I went to the mall today and went into Victoria's Secret with this hot babe who is a few years older than me. She stole a thong.  But anways, I bought Metal Church - "Metal Church". What's your opinion on this band? The cd is pretty good so far.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-11-2004 11:23 PM

havent heard any Metal Church myself

metal-militia 12-12-2004 05:39 AM

Ive got a few tracks off Metal Church. It's pretty good, plus I like the cover of Deep Purple's Highway Star :thumb:

I think its Jmetallica had a link to download a few of their albums as well.
Just in today:

Ulysses Siren - Above the Ashes
Aura Noir - Black Thrash Attack
Exodus - Die By His Hand 7" vinyl
Rip that Ulysses Siren and I will be leeching it. I found a guy with dial-up who has it, so I was able to get 3/4 of a song after one hour of downloading. :-/

Superpeer: That was retarded. I'll be afraid to ever distort a band name again.

SLATANIC-666 12-12-2004 09:40 AM

I think I've still got that link for those Metal Church songs.
Here it is:-

http://www.fun-with-money.com/metalchurch/

and I've just checked to see if it works, it not only works but also has Enemy of God samples :D

EDIT: Not samples, the whole godd@mn thing.

RCA 12-12-2004 10:13 AM

HOLY MOTHER OF LUCIFER.

Leviathan/Above the Ashes is probably one of, if not the, greatest thrash song written. Bang your heads.

No problem, I forgot I had the link myself, I only remebered when someone mentioned Metal Church.

RavenousMetalist87 12-12-2004 11:43 AM

Added another thrash classic in time for the Jagermeister Music Tour coming to my town on Friday:

Slayer - Hell Awaits

I was just obbessed with trying to get it and so I finally was able to yesterday XD

sensitiveorgan00 12-12-2004 11:44 AM

^ Nice buy. That's my favorite Slayer album, it owns hard.

Random: My friend called me a few mintues asking me when Enemy of God is going to come out. :amaze:

RavenousMetalist87 12-12-2004 11:51 AM

I totally can't remember the exact date on when it comes out, but I'm for sure going to get a copy of it because it sounds like a good album so far.

I was just wondering because on the sleeve there's a picture of Tom and he's playing bass without pick, whereas now I feel that he plays with a pick.

Is it just me or did the riffs become too hard to finger pick the strings or did Tom just get lazy?

I'm stumped XD

sensitiveorgan00 12-12-2004 12:53 PM

Oh snap, I never realized that Tom played with his fingers on Hell Awaits till now. He probably got lazy, since bass in Slayer's music isn't a big deal. However, you can actually hear some bass riffs on a few songs off of Hell Awaits.
