I made 30 bucks on a bet the other day though, so I'm going to buy Low Spark... and CSN's debut after school tomorrow. Two albums that I should have gotten a while ago.
That's weird, I bought both those albums at the same time also. Traffic is indeed awesome. I don't have On the Road either, but have everything else up to that. |
Sent out Low Spark. Tell me if there's any problems.
Hey I got Round About Midnight by Miles Davis today. Once I figure out why Itunes won't rip it I'll send it out bitches.
Cool, can't wait to hear it. I've never heard a Miles Davis album I haven't liked.
I'm downloading On An Island right now hopefully its good.
I bet it'll disappoint everyone.....
I'll send out Odessey and Oracle.
Isn't it almost freakish that right in the middle of the album there's a bizzare funeral death/war song? I love the entire album and I'd actualy say that "Time of the Season" is the weakest song on the album.
Goes anyone have Mermiad Avenue vol. 1 or 2?
Volume 1 is arguably the finest I've ever heard Wilco.
Volume 1 would be a fantastic album if Billy Bragg didn't sing on any of the tracks. THe music is top notch but he annoys the living hell out of me, I skip over almost every song he sings on. The stong points in this album though are incredible, songs like "California Stars" and "Christ for President" leave me with my mouth open in awe at just how outstandingly great they are. I'm enjoying the way this thread is looking at the moment let's keep this going. :) |
Magicbus do you still need the NRPS?
WelcometotheMachine, I can upload Volunteers for you. Volunteers (the song) is one of the greatest staples of 60's rock there is. |
Did you ever send that out? i'd like to hear it
/hasnt been here i Like a week Does nayone have Volunteers from Jefferson Airplane? NP - Jefferson Airplane - Somebody to Love
Don't have the Volunteers album, but the song is awsome. I love Somebody to Love, last week all I listened to pretty much was Surrealistic Pillow. And I have a couple really good songs from their preformace at Woodstock. |
I've wanted Volunteers forever, but I can't find it anywhere.
I didn't like Odessey & Oracle at all when I listened to it, but I'd like to listen to it. Also, I uploaded Forever Changes last night, but I think it only got sent out to a few people. Anyone who wants it just tell me. |
-How many feathers are on a Purdue chicken?
-How many fibers are intertwined in a Shredded Wheat biscuit? -What does Touche et Lele Pu mean? -How many times did the Batmobile catch a flat? /waits for Illmatic Sending out On The Road right now. In my reading class it's awesome. I listen to Nick Drake and read for an hour. Easy A. |
I'm uploading the NRPS s/t right now, then I'll do Volunteers.
Volunteers is a great album. It's lost the psychedelic feel of Surrealisitc Pillow for the most part, but the band is much more mature and puts out some great songs. We Can Be Together and Volunteers (both share a similar riff) are great bookends on an interesting album. |
Magicbus do you still need the NRPS?
WelcometotheMachine, I can upload Volunteers for you. Volunteers (the song) is one of the greatest staples of 60's rock there is.
Volunteers is an amazing song. Maybe my favorite Jefferson Airplane song after Comin' Back to Me. Anyone else really love Comin' Back to Me? That song gets so overshadowed but it's so hauntingly beautiful. I've been looking for Volunteers for a long time but haven't found it yet. Honestly, I feel Odessey and Oracle is a little overrated. Parts are great but it's a little inconsistent in some places. I downloaded a Savoy Brown album off Chris. Great blues-rock. I think they opened for a few of Cream's gigs on their farewell tour. Similar blues-rock sound. |
The Zombies have their moments, but for a lot of the songs I just don't care to listen to them. They are a good band and underrated when compared to their contemporaries, but I get bored listening to their style of music. Odessey and Oracle is more interesting, but their early stuff is just the same sound over and over again (Zombie Heaven Discs 1 and 2). I still like them though.
I just sent out the NRPS album. If you didn't get it let me know. |
I love the Zombies. Colin Blunstone has a great voice. I would disagree with Schyma and say that Time Of The Season is one of the best songs on their. I love the witty lyrics and it has some awesom drumming and keyboard work. They're a good band.

Is anyone else having trouble with ysi? Odesssey and Oracle has failed on me 3 times now. Is anyone else having problems with it, or is it just my computer?
On Oddessey and Oracle, I like it, I just don't feel that it's the masterpiece that others do. And usually I'm a fan of bonus tracks, but the bonus tracks on this make listening to the whole album in one sitting kind of a daunting task. Usually I get bored if I listen to the whole thing. |
Well, it IS very long with the bonus tracks. Haha.

I like some of the Bragg tracks. "Walt Whitman's Neice" and "Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key" are some of the album's best tracks, as well as "Christ For President", "Birds and Ships", "California Stars" and my favorite - "Hesitating Beauty". |
I'm just getting into Billy Bragg. He seems pretty cool.
+5 imaginary rep for anyone who can name my avatar :) |
It's either Yao Ming or Jamie Kennedy. Is it Jamie Kennedy?
|
I love volunteers (the album) so much. Good Shepherd and Eskimo Blue Day=teh secks
It's either Yao Ming or Jamie Kennedy. Is it Jamie Kennedy?
Jac's right, it's Jello. I was about to ask if anyone here likes Dead Kennedys, because I think they were one of the best hardcore punk bands of all time. Actually, one of the best bands of all times. |
+5 imaginary rep to whoever can guess who is in my avatar :p
yeah so I was born into the wrong era, I'd actually make a pretty good soul singer (based only on voice, I can't write a song at all). As such guess what I have been listening to. |
I like the Dead Kennedys, but I hate Jello Biafra. He's extremely annoying and has that same ol' nihilist-punk attitude -- not my thing.
I prefer the Minutemen and Bad Brains as far as Punk goes. |
I too prefer the Minutemen as well as a number of other punk bands. I don't mind the Dead Kennedys but they're not my favorite.
Whoever was downloading On An Island, did you get the last track? Mine didn't work right. |

I see you got the NRPS out, Lunch. Thanks :)
About the Traffic, I have "Welcome to the Canteen", "Traffic", "Mr. Fantasy", and "John Barleycorn Must Die", if anybody wants those. I'll also get The Yes Album out today or tomorrow. Ray, it looks like Stevie Wonder to me. |
Minutemen defnitely, Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, Rancid and ....Sublime? too.
I have a song from The Lion King in my head. The Circle of Life.
Yeah, stuff like the Minutemen, X, the Clash, Black Flag, and some others. With a bunch of proto-punk thrown in there too. I'm loving all the traffic, guys. |
I just downloaded Nektar - A Tab In the Ocean from one of those blogs someone found (not Chris, one of the other ones). It's great progressive rock, and reminds me how much Rapidshare sucks for making me wait so long between downloads. There's so many albums I want to check out. Then there's the albums that have 2 parts and that sucks even more.

To anyone who has downloaded it, how is On An Island? I really want to hear it.
NP: Rush - 2112 |
It's very good. I'm missing the last track though. Great songwriting and guitar playing.
