I actually need the Yes Album if you could hook me up.
What do you guys think of Tales From Topographic Oceans? A lot of people hate it but I think it's great prog. Losts of nice instrumental sections, which is what I like about Yes to begin with. |
/puts some cheese, pepper, and veggies on his spam
Omgomogm I heard,"Mrs. Robinson," for the first time throught the whole song and I thought it was awesome. |
Ok, so country rock is my new thing. I like the sound of Flying Burrito Brothers and Gram Parsons. Can someone point me in the direction of some more? It could even be straight country, as long as it's old school. Thanks :)
NP: Cream - Born Under A Bad Sign
Gram Parsons owns, as does Sweetheart of the Rodeo. Are you looking for Alt. Country Rock? Like Uncle Tupelo, Whiskey Town, The Jayhawks, Son Volt, early Wilco? |

Are you looking for Alt. Country Rock? Like Uncle Tupelo, Whiskey Town, The Jayhawks, Son Volt, early Wilco?
Sweetheart of the Rodeo would be a good one to check out, thanks :) I tried Uncle Tupelo on amazon, but I'm not sure it was as country as I would've liked. How is Wilco? I know my dad and my brother listen to them. Lunch: I'll get you The Yes Album soon. |
Isn't Poco the band Richie Furay formed after Buffalo Springfield? Probably some good stuff.
And yeah Jon, the Al Dimeola is Elegant Gypsy. Good stuff. |
Hey I got Round About Midnight by Miles Davis today. Once I figure out why Itunes won't rip it I'll send it out bitches.
|

Early Uncle Tupelo is Punk inspired Country-Rock (or Alt. Country Rock). They were like a combination of the Minutemen and Gram Parsons. Their later stuff is much more Country and less Punk Inspired. I like each era of the band, but I suppose I prefer the Punk inspired days. Wilco's Country Rock material is mostly early on in their career. Theirs is similar to Uncle Tupelo's later work. I like a lot of it, but definitely prefer Tupelo. |
I have something you might like, Bus. It's an album by The Knitters which is actually the bassist/singer and female singer for the punk band, X. I didn't even notice i had it until i got some X from JohnXDoe. It's country with a punk feel. I'll probably up it tomorow sometime.

Hey, do any of you guys know the setlist for the rolling stones tour?
|
Goes anyone have Mermiad Avenue vol. 1 or 2?
Volume 1 is arguably the finest I've ever heard Wilco. |
Is that not the album where Wilco wrote the music for all those unreleased Woody Guthrie songs? I have only heard two Wilco songs one was good one was not.

Yeah, some Zombies would be great. I've only heard Time of the Seasons, which is great, of course, so I really want to hear some more. |
I'll send out Odessey and Oracle.
I am completely obsessed with Traffic. I just can't stop listening to them. So good. |

Has it actually been released yet? Or are you downloading a leak of it? Woodstock, I was listening to Welcome to the Canteen. Definitely not the best stuff Traffic's ever done, but it's still awesome, especially the extended Dear Mr. Fantasy. |
Hey Bus, definantly check out the Marshall Tucker Band. And Wilco are also amazing, so look into them.
I heard a nice cover of John Sinclair today, done by Blind Melon. |
I have MTB s/t. It's good.
:) The vocals on Dead Set are weak. |
Southern Woman is such an awesome song.

I have their s/t, Dear Mr. Fantasy, John Barleycorn Must Die, and The Low Sparks of High Heeled Boys. All of them are great. |
I could send you it.
I have all those mentioned + On The Road. News just in: Gov't Mule is coming to Iowa. I need a ride. I'll probably go with my dad. :) |
anybody want to upload some Traffic for me please?, i have none, maybe Dear Mr. Fantasy as i know that song and like it a lot.
|
Drive-By Truckers do kinda alternative southern rock, they're really good.
|

I've seen all of Traffic's cds in stores except for that one. All I have is John Barleycorn Must Die, s/t, and Welcome to the Canteen. I made 30 bucks on a bet the other day though, so I'm going to buy Low Spark... and CSN's debut after school tomorrow. Two albums that I should have gotten a while ago. Edit- Yeah, I agree with Woodstock about John Barleycorn Must Die being the best starter album. That's how I got into them. But thinking about it, their s/t album is probably the most accessible. I'll upload one of those for you, WttM, but I have to upload Oddessey and Oracle first. So I probably won't get around to Traffic until tomorrow at the earliest. Dear Mr. Fantasy is one sweet song. The rest of the album isn't as solid as s/t or John Barleycorn though. |
anybody want to upload some Traffic for me please?, i have none, maybe Dear Mr. Fantasy as i know that song and like it a lot.
I'd actually recommend John Barleycorn as a good starter album. Dear Mr. Fantasy is a little harder to get into IMO. |
