sounds cool.

what is this paul mccartney thing?
He has a mini performance and explanation of Beatles songs at a private concert at Abbey Road Studios.
I went to Disney with my family this vacation, it was alright I'm not a big Disney person but I'm from CT so it was nice to be warm.

My highlight was going to the Virgin megastore I got

Live Cream vol 2
The Who - The Kids Are Allright (soundtrack)
Eric Clapton - 24 nights
Santana - Live at the filmore
Ramones - Leave Home.

They are all great albums, though I think my favorite is the Kids Are Allright soundtrack.
I spent most of my vacation in CT looking at colleges. It was cold. Not too bad though. As for your purchases, The Kids Are Alright is awesome. So is Live Cream Vol. 2. Not too much jamming, but Clapton's playing on Steppin' Out is just amazing. Sunshine Of Your Love is awesome on that too. I love when they just go into a nuts jam in the last minute and half of Sunshine. How's 24 Nights? I've been meaning to check that out.

That Paul thing sounds sweet.

I like Paul Rodgers voice. Not really anything like Mercury's and he can't replace Mercury, but I've heard that he does a good job.

TheDMV 02-27-2006 08:04 PM
Of all people to get the 58,000th post, it was a 34-postcounter  Good job man.

That Bad Company singer has a good "rawk" voice, I think he'd make a good Mercury as long as he could hit the high notes well enough.
What's so specail about the 5800 post anyway?

He has a fantastic voice, but he's no where near as good as mercury.

Nothing really, just 2,000 posts till bye-bye old thread :( It's like a new millenium or something. Ragnarokk approaches! Heimdall, sound your mighty trumpet! The cock of Hel crows! Gather the human forces of Valhalla! We shall fight to the end!

Man, Norse mythology is really getting to me...

EDIT: I forgot it censors out cock, even if you mean the other one.

Haha failed attempt at trying to pass the swear filter.

How do even know the thread going to be closed anyways?

jpj 02-27-2006 08:11 PM

Has anyone noticed the thread lagging? I'm pretty sure that's the main reason the community thread was closed.

Yeah CT isn't bad in that during some parts of the year it looks nice, but it starts to kind of suck after awhile. Its a pretty boring state. Yeah for the Cream album I love that last minute and a half durning Sunshine thats my favorite recording. 24 Nights is a good album. There are some songs on it that are done really well. I love Wonderful Tonight off it just because I've never really been much of a fan of it till I heard it on this cd. The jam in Sunshine of Your Love is good. Old love is another really good jam. I would pick it up if. Maybe not before the Rainbow Concert or any of the Live Cream cds, but its one I think every fan should have.

Hey guys, Im into classic rock and dont like any of the stuff out there today. I have downloaded every zeppelin, floyd, beatles album and I have some queen, jimi hendrix and rush albums. I need some more classic rock. Can anyone suggest some albums or songs in the classic rock genre, since those bands above obviously dont have any new albums coming out(maybe rush?). Thanks!

First off: Don't read the first post. Read what we've been talking about and try to fit in. I could list off a ton of bands, but I don't want to.

That's too bad, actually. There's some great modern stuff out there.

But seriously, check out The Who.

The Rolling Stones. Also try out Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Velvet Underground.

Ya, I forgot to mention them. And sorry I didnt feel like reading the whole 100 pages to fit in, just wanted some more music to listen to. And Im not into all the emo, screamo stuff out there today. I know theres good modern bands out there but I prefer classic rock.

jpj 02-27-2006 08:53 PM

No one would expect you to read the entire thread, just a few posts before yours.

rockinbass17 02-27-2006 08:55 PM

I've just recieved word of a program on TV at 10, PBS maybe, about the almighty Paul McCartney. Anyone know of this?

Edit: Okay, well I'm off to find it.

robo2448 02-27-2006 09:28 PM

This reworked version of Lady Madonna Paul just did was pretty interesting. I think I prefer the original, but him changing it around like that was pretty cool.

PinkFreud 02-27-2006 10:00 PM

gah! i missed lady madonna. saw the last bits though. good stuff. god i need to see him next time he tours.

rockinbass17 02-27-2006 10:09 PM

I really liked all the performances of the songs that he said were newer material, I might just go get the new album now.

Edit- 700. Woo

I did, but it's gone now. sorry

/no help

Does anyone have No Depression they can upload? I haven't listened to it for awhile, so I've only had Anodyne to listen to -- which isn't nearly as good, but still plausible.

Np: Uncle Tupelo - New Madrid (Anodyne's finest moment)

EDIT: Bonus Tracks would be great too. :)

jpj 02-28-2006 03:51 PM

I'll upload No Depression for you.

That thing on PBS was pretty cool.

robo2448 02-28-2006 03:51 PM

I have Live at the Roxy and No Depression. So I guess I better get going with the uploads. I'll do both of them this afternoon. Miik, what's your e-mail? I don't think I have it.

Edit- Okay I guess jpj is doing No Depression. I'll do Live at the Roxy now.

Okay, both are uploaded. I'm gonna send them out now.

np: Robert Johnson- Dead Shrimp Blues

Edit- sent.

TheDMV 02-28-2006 04:25 PM
np: Robert Johnson- Dead Shrimp Blues
It seems to me that Robert Johnson has a higher percentage of songs ending in 'blues' than most blues artists. Or am I toatlly wrong?
