So how much coke did you do?
At least 50 rails. I bought Mute Print and Ruiner the other day. And I now have a girlfriend. That's pretty much everything that's new with me. What did I miss in the one month I didn't post for? Any new users? |

Gheyexcursions.
I remember this thread....
Who the hell are you? |
I'm back!
Do you guys have Prison Break in AIMerica?
Woo. I live in Canada, and yeah we have it. I watched the first couple episodes, then I got lazy. |
I can't stand Mencia, though everyone in my school loves him. I think my favorite comiedian will always be Bill Hicks. Hes the man.

Ah. Hello.
I live in Canada, and yeah we have it. I watched the first couple episodes, then I got lazy.
You should have carried on watching it, it's awesome.
I can't stand Mencia, though everyone in my school loves him. I think my favorite comiedian will always be Bill Hicks. Hes the man.
If you like him, listen to Lenny Bruce and George Carling as well, they're awesome. |
Mitch Hedberg and Carlin are better than Hicks, but Hicks is still funny.

You should have carried on watching it, it's awesome.
Like 5 of my friends are totally obsessed with Wentworth Miller. That kind of turned me off watching it.
Mitch Hedberg and Carlin are better than Hicks, but Hicks is still funny.
Mitch Hedberg and Dane Cook are my two all time favourite comedians. |

Mitch Hedberg and Dane Cook are my two all time favourite comedians.
I can't stand Dane Cook. Comedy Central showed an uncensored version of Carlin on Campus last weekend, ****ing hilarious. My dad has a bunch of his stuff on vinyl, as well as Bill Cosby (who's standup is pretty funny) and Cheech & Chong. |
If you like him, listen to Lenny Bruce and George Carling as well, they're awesome.
Yeah I've heard a bunch of Carlin bits before though I really want to get into Lenny Bruce. I've heard before that his humor was like Hicks. I just love Hicks because I can honestly say I've never really disagreed with him on anything and his humor is the truth at its best. |
Like 5 of my friends are totally obsessed with Wentworth Miller. That kind of turned me off watching it.
Mitch Hedberg and Carlin are better than Hicks, but Hicks is still funny.
I saw one of Carling's live shows on a friend's computer, and he was nowhere near as funny as Bill Hicks. But Lenny Bruce is funnier than both of them, though I like Hicks's philosophy better. |
I like Jack Johnson.

But to truly appreciate Carlin you have to hear his classics, like The Ten Commandments or Seven Dirty Words You Can't Say on Television. |

Check out the similarities between that bit and Family Reunion by Blink 182. |
I like Hicks's philosophy better.
Yeah thats one of the reasons I love him so much. I mean even though I don't find it to be the most funny my favorite Hicks album is Rant In E Minor for his philosphy. One of my favorite bits of his that just poped into my head: "Why do Christians wear crosses? Do you think Jesus ever wants to see a cross again?" |
Who the **** is Carling?
Well exCUUUSE me for mishearing a name that sounds like crappy beer! |

Yeah and saying a bunch of dirty words on a pop-punk record isn't nearly as shocking as him performing it during the whole censorsahip thing on TV and getting sued for it. |
dane cook isn't funny.

Do you think Jesus ever wants to see a cross again?"
Most of his albums are the same routine, and they're not that funny after a while, but it's the improv that kills me now. Like in Dark Poet or the one in a Chicago (I think) night club where he flips out on some woman who heckles him, it's hilarious. You should read the book Love All The People. It's a collection of everything he ever wrote, including scripts for shows he wanted to produce and notes about the more ambiguous references in his jokes. It's also kind of a biography, because you can see how he developed and how he changed when he found out he had cancer. |

Thanks that sounds great. A couple of years ago there was a documentry on Hicks on a channel on digital cable that has since been discontinued. It was a great overview of his career and life in general. He had been doing "over the edge" comedy acts since he was in high school. Great live footage of a lot of his bits. |
George Carlin is the best comic ever I love Lenny Bruce as well. Bill Hicks is good I love the “if I thought the Jews killed Jesus I would worship the Jews” thing . If you like Mitch Hedberg get some of Steven Wright’s ****. Lenny Bruce and Carlin did a lot for free speech (Bruce did more). I have seen Carlin it was the funniest **** I had ever seen. I saw Hedberg right before he died (he loved drugs) he was so ****ed up but still funny as hell.
|
There's a movie on where there're bombs inside pacemakers, and people keep blowing up, it's hilarious.

I hate you |
Speaking of hate. I hate fighting with chicks on the phone.
Blah. And I don't know anything about comedy. |

A comic called Patches Here's a list of all the stuff I read if you want some recommendations: http://comic-nation.com/user.php?userid=594 I also suggest signing up for that site, it's really handy when checking comics, especially when you read a lot daily with different update schedules. |
