...Is that what it's called?.. |
Thats a Who song man =P The Dylan song is Masters Of War Im pretty sure.
|
Yeah, Masters of War, from Freewheelin'.
|
I heard an awesome Bob Dylan song today that I've never heard before, but I didn't hear the name of it. It was a classic folky Dylan war protest song, but I don't really remember much of the lyrics. The ending was something about "watching you until you're lowered into your grave..." or something like that. Someone help!! I really want to download this song!!:(
"Masters of War" (edit: it's been said) "Eminence Front" is a cool song by The Who. I don't really remember the bass though, I'll check it out again later. |
It's really awesome in the chorus, Entwistle basically carries that part. In the verse he doesn't do very much if I remember. But either way, Eminence Front is a great song.
|
yeah. my favorite post-moon songs. entwistle always does a great job though.

Regarding Talking Heads:
Definantly buy Remain In Light. |
I don't have a last.fm but I do remember most of what I listened to:
Traffic - Low Spark of...etc Amon Düül II - Yeti Curtis Mayfield - Super Fly T. Rex - Electric Warrior Jimi Hendrix - Raw Blues |
Yea, I'm listening to it right now. I haven't found a solid opinion on him yet but one thing I have concluded is he's no Hendrix. The only flaw that I can point out right now is that the recording quality sucks, I hope the studio album is more listenable.
Yea, well it's a bootleg that was probably recorded by some Turk that was high off his ass. The quality of the studio album is fine. |
I don't have a last.fm but I do remember most of what I listened to:
raw blues? what's that?
Yeah, I've never heard of that. Is it a bootleg or someting? I can't get the last.fm program to work on my computer, I wish I could get it to (I think its cause I have a Mac.) |
The Itunes plugin is a peice of ****, it hates my computer.
|
Last.fm isn't working for me too well right now. It says I have 18 songs queued for submission. Which means it hasn't tracked the last 18 songs I've listened to, but once the plugin successfully connects with the server everything will be tracked. I'm starting to wonder if it's ever going to connect though.
The Koray bootleg is pretty bad quality, but give it a break, it's a bootleg. What do you expect? Despite the quality, the playing is good and pretty interesting. I haven't downloaded the studio album yet though because I'm lazy. np: Robert Johnson- Dust My Broom |
I just found out that I'm going to see Queen when they're comming through D.C., but I don't know much about Paul Rogers, the singer who is replacing Freddie for the tour. Do any of you guys know anything bout him?
|
he sang for free and bad company. i have the live cd queen and paul rodgers put out and he sounds pretty good.

He was in Bad Company and Free. You've probably heard him on the radio before on songs like "Alright Now", "Bad Company", and "Feel Like Makin' Love." They're coming here, but I'm not going. Tickets are probably sold out anyway. |

Yeah, I've heard those songs. I don't know how good a choice he is for Freddie's replacement, but I guess I'll find out, huh? |
he sounds pretty good. he doesn't have the range or power but he fits the songs as well as he can.

I loves me some hot pockets. Mmm.
:tasty: Bob Dylan is one of my favorite songwriters ever. Most of his songs just make sense. |
Hey there is going to be a good show on PBS at 8 tonight.
|
I loves me some hot pockets. Mmm.
I've never actually wanted to eat a Hot Pocket. I've only eaten one when I've found it was basically my last resort. |
Hey there is going to be a good show on PBS at 8 tonight.
All that's on my PBS is Antique's Roadshow.
I've never actually wanted to eat a Hot Pocket. I've only eaten one when I've found it was basically my last resort.
You're missing out. |
Krabs, are you talking about the Paul McCartney thing?
|
The Paul McCartney thing is on at 10pm Eastern I think. It looks great.
And the Raw Blues album is a huge bootleg album of unreleased Hendrix performances. It correlates to the Blues album. It's great, though. There are some half-hour long jams. |

I went to Disney with my family this vacation, it was alright I'm not a big Disney person but I'm from CT so it was nice to be warm.
My highlight was going to the Virgin megastore I got Live Cream vol 2 The Who - The Kids Are Allright (soundtrack) Eric Clapton - 24 nights Santana - Live at the filmore Ramones - Leave Home. They are all great albums, though I think my favorite is the Kids Are Allright soundtrack. |
Of all people to get the 58,000th post, it was a 34-postcounter  Good job man.
Ugh, I will try to make this my last post of the night and hopefully tomorrow too. I have a crapload of homework, basically I have to go back and add parenthetical citations to my entire WC paper from my sources because my teacher just reminded us we need to (no one else has either), and I also need to add more myths, correct it grammar and format wise, and make a poster all by Wednesday :( That's pretty much it though... although I just realized I either left my main school notebook at school or in my friend's mom's car. It sucks being involuntarily disorganized and forgetful and stuff :( That Bad Company singer has a good "rawk" voice, I think he'd make a good Mercury as long as he could hit the high notes well enough. |
Yeah Paul Rodgers performed at a festival I went to, he was okay but he was a cocky prick.
