absolutly dreading work tomorrow.

'sup?

Untitled 06-29-2007 11:47 AM

i dont want to go work tomorrow, really cant be arsed.

My mum says i should carry on working at morrisons when i go leeds, even if its only 5 hours a week fr the cash, i know i should really for the money , but i really, really do not want too. I mean, my loan, plus maintenance grant, plus money ive save should do me, and if i need a job i could find one surely.

wtf.

Surtr 06-29-2007 12:30 PM

Butler, it totally depends man.

I'd say stick with it, and keep the job when you move to Leeds. That way you'll still have more money coming in. More money can't hurt. And then when you're there, if you really can't take it any longer quit. But give it a month or two first.

Just my opinion, but at least you won't be searching for another job and you'll have money coming in.

Untitled 06-29-2007 12:36 PM

Its not just not liking my job, its i dont want to have to keep worrying about going into work and it eating up my free time while im at university, the first year i wanna keep free, to get drunk and play cricket in. I know i could do with the money but i mean the first term or so i should be fine with money from loans and stuff ill just have to be careful.

Squirrel 06-29-2007 12:37 PM

Keep your job and only work the weekends and/or wednesday.

Untitled 06-29-2007 12:42 PM

Im in on wednesday, im in everyday.

And you dont release how **** it is, and the morrisons in leeds is a proper dump.

Squirrel 06-29-2007 12:43 PM

How do you know your timetable for uni already?

EVERY uni has at least Wednesday afternoon off, btw.

Untitled 06-29-2007 12:45 PM

I asked them at my interview.

And wednesday afternoon, we can have off to go and play sports, which im going to do.

Squirrel 06-29-2007 12:46 PM

Every Uni has Wednesday afternoon off.

Theyre lying completely about how much work there is, trust me.

Surtr 06-29-2007 12:49 PM

Nah man..I'd still say keep the job.

You're fighting against what you want to do and what you should do.

You WANT to quit and spend the time getting drunk and playing cricket.

You SHOULD keep the job and use the money to allow you to get drunk and play cricket when you're not working.

;)

Mexican Bandito 06-29-2007 12:51 PM

OH NO
I love Fopp

That's crap news.

No, for design subjects we're expected to be in the studios working 3 times a week, then one the other ones we have lectures. It might not be the same with other subjects where you turn up for 2 lectures for 5 hours a week.

Yeah, argh, i dunno.

What ill do, is wait till i exactly know how much money im getting from loans and grants, and hammer the over time in a couple of weeks, get a fair bit saved up, then sum everything up.

Squirrel 06-29-2007 12:55 PM

They told me i would be in labs all day everyday then the rest of the time reading journals and alike.

Im in 0-4 hours a day, if im in at all.

They seriously lie to you big style.

Untitled 06-29-2007 12:57 PM

Well i know from doing my art/design foundation this year how the format for these works at university, as i did that at a uni, and the format is very similar.

At the start of the year i will be in all the time, doing day long projects, by the end of the year when we start doing projects that last over 5/6 weeks, then they relax about the times.

Squirrel 06-29-2007 12:59 PM

Gutted.

All i know is i have a lax timetable but i need to knuckle down for this final year.

Untitled 06-29-2007 01:03 PM

Yeah.

But tbh, im paying £2000 for the course, so id rather be in for the 3 and half days or whatever it works out as then doing 5 hour lectures liek you get in some subjects, make the lecturers bloody work for there money!

All i know is, Monday - Contextual lecture sometime during the day, lasts bout an hour, Tuesday a class one computor design or something, lasts a couple hours, rest of the week im expected to be in the studios, at the end of the year ill get away with not being in though. Wednesday afternoon off to play cricket.

Weekends, probably have cricket match on saterday or sunday.

So working at a place like morrisons, the most inflexible hours ever, would be arkward, cricket is one thing i really really wanna do while im at uni too.

Dead Star 06-29-2007 02:07 PM

ChodaBoy 06-29-2007 02:07 PM
