Nice motor actually, better than my Polo. I want a Transit though tbh.
you have to carry all the band gear too?

i'm getting royally fucked off with it. got a vectra estate and it's full to the roof every gig. PA, keyboard and then all my gear. i'll let the drummer off but the other two....:smash:

Sad But True 10-07-2010 03:45 AM

My main indie band has a long wheelbase transit which is owned/run/driven by my drummer's dad, cause he's awesome, but for alter eden I'm the only one with a driving license so it's usually my car full of my stuff, bassists stuff and singer's stuff, luckily there's cabs at the studios we practice in. For the tour thpough we borrowed a transit and I drove it for like the first half, and it was ace, which is why I now want a transit.

jaklyons 10-07-2010 05:25 AM

Why haven't they got licenses? They're old enough, I assume.
Why haven't they got licenses? They're old enough, I assume.
Did we not just go over how expensive it is to even own and run a car in this country, let alone learn to drive the damn thing?

guitarbaz 10-07-2010 06:03 AM

i do occasionally borrow the g/f's uncle's VW van, one of them there 5 cylinder T4's or something. it's spot on, bags of room for the gear plus enough room to give her a table ender over one of the bass bins.

laaaaverly.

Sad But True 10-07-2010 06:43 AM

They're old enough, just that my singer rides motorbikes so doesn't have a full license, my bassist was banned for 18 months because he was driving drunk on base (in the army) and my drummer is just lazy.

spirit 10-07-2010 06:53 AM
my drummer is just lazy.
As a group we are somewhat lethargic. My stock excuse is that we are conserving our energy for when we play our instrument...

 Nice. Luckily his dad drops his stuff off most of the time, and even more luckily the shells are already at the studio, so it's all gravy.
Did we not just go over how expensive it is to even own and run a car in this country, let alone learn to drive the damn thing?
Poor excuse tbh. My income really is pitifully, appallingly low, but I have a car.

is it insured? ;)

So then it becomes a matter of priority. I prefer to eat than starve in a car.

fingers mccoy 10-07-2010 12:51 PM

why not get the best of both worlds and buy a car made of cake

vodka made this post possible.

That seems more like the worst of both worlds - a car that doesn't function made of a foodstuff that will rapidly decay, leaving me both hungry and without a vehicle.

Boredom made this post possible.

Also, 7,300 posts. Woo.

The_Mop 10-07-2010 03:23 PM

Just got L4D and L4D2 on steam for 7.81 together.

Get in.

out of malt loaf then, on castors on a hill.

fingers mccoy 10-07-2010 04:52 PM

the second hit on google when you search 'bisous' (which is a french word meaning 'kisses') is http://edibleanus.com/.

Modern Iconoclast 10-07-2010 05:21 PM

This shitty Victoria's Secret campus tour concert thing is going on like 200 yards from my dorm, and that douchebag Drake's (or whatever the fuck his name is) voice is permeating through my walls...

I love your enthusiasm. I hate that I don't have the correct number of plug socket extensions in the appropriate lengths.

Those two thoughts are largely unrelated.

What a booming social life Superjoe must lead to have all this spare time to be unfunny.

guitarbaz 10-08-2010 02:58 AM

arse.

stripped me amp down last night to check bias and change valves only to find my multimeter wouldn't read mV low enough. gah. just as well i have lots of fancy test gear at work to "borrow".

Sad But True 10-08-2010 03:40 AM

Or as I like to say, 'misappropriate'. How do Baz?

guitarbaz 10-08-2010 03:53 AM

canny mate. yoursel?

glad it's friday, not that it's been a harrowing week or owt but could do with a beer or two...

Sad But True 10-08-2010 04:00 AM

I'm good mate, just back from the mrs', no uni today so I'm just chillaxing to Mutemath. Might go have a haircut, it's getting a bit mangly and long.

Yeah I'm looking forward to the weekend too, got a mate's 'social gathering' tomorrow night, F1 and playing football Sunday, should be Bisto.

guitarbaz 10-08-2010 04:06 AM

sounds just peachy. plus no prem league matches at the weekend to get pissed off about as well.

although i might forsake the exertion of actually playing football to lie in bed with a hangover.

Sad But True 10-08-2010 04:29 AM

Haha yeah football is subject to my state post-social gathering.

AG 10-08-2010 11:17 AM

I have 4 pint cans of Stella to get stuck into, good times.

Sad But True 10-08-2010 11:44 AM

I had my first Stella for several months the other day and didn't like it. I used to cannonball that shit all the time, but then it got expensive(er) so I lay off it.

The_Mop 10-08-2010 11:53 AM
God dammit man it was one time and I was practically forced to! I'm never gonna live this down am I?
Nah man, I'll leave it now, I've had my fun :P

Got yet more projects lined up for uni.... it's getting ridiculous -_-

Kuffuffled 10-08-2010 11:53 AM

Stella is pretty bitter

purple_hazer 10-08-2010 12:12 PM

its alright

i had this beer called a Samuel Adams Black Lager, and it was outrageously delicious. brewed with chocolate and carmel malts or someshit, pitch black, awesome

Sad But True 10-08-2010 12:24 PM

It's all about the Belgian beers. 750ml of Leffe Blonde for £2 in Tesco went I went Wales for the weekend. Needless to say, t'was a messy night.

Blue_Moon 10-08-2010 01:39 PM

never a fan of stella, that leffe shit is pretty strong, also got in a tesco offl licence for cheap

AG 10-08-2010 01:49 PM

Belgian beers like Stella?

>_>

<_<

haha. I like a decent belgian beer. When we visited Colorado we went to The Belgian Beer Co. They have a beer called 'Fat Tire' which is AWESOME.

I also like Leffe. I like a whole load of beers;

Stella
San Miguel
Peroni
Peroni Grand Riserva
Leffe
Hoegarden
Staropramen

Being favorites.

I don't like crap like Carling and Fosters.

Sad But True 10-08-2010 02:02 PM

Favourite lagers:
Calsberg Export.
Stella 4
Desperado (omg yes)
San Miguel (Sol at a push)
Staropramen (or as it got called when we were drunk, Sanbangorama)

Ales:
Courage Directors
Speckled Hen
Robinson's Double Hop
Titanic White Star/Lifeboat/Iceberg/pretty much anything they make (locally brewery too)

Belgians:
Leffe Blonde
Kwaak
Chimay (Red mostly, occasionally Blue)
and if I'm feeling up to it, there's one in the pub up the hill called Kasteel Brun which is like 11% :eep:

Sad But True 10-08-2010 02:05 PM

And don't even get me started on whiskey.

Oh wait I just did.

Glenfiddich 18 year (Oh lordy Lord that's nice)
McAllan 10 year sherry cask
Glenmorangie (any, they're all nice)
GlenMoray

Then there's bourbons...

And Jager...

Left Face Down 10-08-2010 02:21 PM

Jager <3

Jager is great, because on nights I don't really feel in the mood I just mix it with some Strawberry/Banana V8 until I'm in the mood. Really, strawberry + jager = great. Gets rid of that black liquorish taste. Personally not a fan of black liquorish.

//waits for mixing is for pussies comment

JoshIsNumber3 10-08-2010 02:27 PM

lmfao you would do that
