dont buy a sp. I mean I have one and its cool and all, but honestly software plus a midi keyboard is the way to go.

fl studio + m-audio axiom or akai mpk is so much better than a sampler

anyone listened to the couple of songs Eminem and Royce released together last month? em's been on top of his game recently, he also killed it on that T.I. feature and I Need A Doctor

MUNGOLOID 12-03-2010 12:49 AM

songs were aight.

HighandDriving 12-03-2010 08:49 AM

What were these songs called?

Urinetrouble 12-03-2010 09:00 AM

emienm and royce da 5' 9''-living proof, Echo
Eminem And Dre-I Need A Doctor
Eminem And T.I.-All She Wrote

Thanks but I only needed the Royce tracks. Lol at listening to Eminem. Are people other than Time - who is 15 so he can get away with it - still listening to his new shit?

DBlitz 12-03-2010 10:22 AM

KRS-One - Return of the Boom Bap
Big Pun - Capital Punishment
Lords of the Underground - Here Come the Lords
Edan - Beauty and the Beat
Redman - Muddy Waters

which ones (if any) do i want from those?

HighandDriving 12-03-2010 10:34 AM

You want Eminem - Relapse

Urinetrouble 12-03-2010 10:39 AM

you want krs-one, big pun and Redman.

"i'm the-main attraction, black man in action"

i don't listen to Eminem's new shit really, its on hiphopdx.com though.

when i heard something about new bad meets evil tracks i had to hear those. not as good as i thought it'd be

HighandDriving 12-03-2010 10:43 AM

Is this actually being pushed as bad meets evil tracks?

Urinetrouble 12-03-2010 10:46 AM

i believe so-there's a rumored bad meets evil album for 2011

HighandDriving 12-03-2010 10:48 AM

I have a feeling it would suck. If they could get Just Blaze to produce some tracks then maybe it wouldn't be so bad. And no featuring Slaughter house members, except maybe Crooked I.

Time 12-03-2010 10:53 AM

i am not 15, and you read bret easton ellis.

Urinetrouble 12-03-2010 10:56 AM

the first 2 tracks on that slaughterhouse album were great, rest was meh

yeah they need just blaze. more importantly, why doesn't Eminem work with the Bass Brothers anymore? they produced most of the Slimshady LP and that had some really great beats. wonder what happened

HighandDriving 12-03-2010 10:58 AM

Everybody needs Just Blaze. I remember when I was Time's age Just Blaze was my fav producer.
i am not 15, and you read bret easton ellis.
Sorry dude, it sure seemed like it with your general bad taste in everything.

Urinetrouble 12-03-2010 11:25 AM

i'm forming a grindcore-rap group called Anal Corruption. its also got hints of drone

my favorite Just Blaze beat is this one he made for Saigon and Asher Roth used it on a song called rik smits. Saigon version is way better

HighandDriving 12-03-2010 11:37 AM

thanks

Rams 12-03-2010 01:20 PM

the lords of the underground and edan albums are great too. But the true winner is Redman. Redman is the best.

Time 12-03-2010 01:21 PM

muddy waters is definitely essential

MUNGOLOID 12-03-2010 08:01 PM

whut thee album is still the only redman album i've ever heard.

Bob Saget 12-03-2010 09:27 PM

redman is a legend man

niobium 12-03-2010 10:06 PM

edan - beauty and the beat

fine example of psychedelic hip-hop and that real early 70s vintage feel that doesn't feel like a cheap sample. lush, rich productions from a varied source of black and white musics. those raps are so golden era. intriguing artist. don't listen to echo party at all.

gaslamp killer - i spit on your grave

so much fun, just the right pace. a good breadth of samples with heavy, melodic drums. i don't mind the mixtape feel at all, it's not oxperiment. not as banger as such nor rushed, but like an unfolding session with its heights and comotose head nod closer. slept on it.

prefuse - 73 - extinguished: outtakes

been absorbing this one for the past two months. haven't felt this way about a beat tape since count bass d - some music pt.2. incredibly fast, doesn't lose focus, but is wildly eclectic where pieces fall in the puzzle later. some misses but more tracks than minutes. two long pieces sandwich it with the former acting as a good artist biography

Bob Saget 12-05-2010 10:44 AM

Best Thang Smokin is still pretty sick. Dro is a beast.

ive been meaning to get some young dro, i heard a mixtape song from i am legend and it was awesome

Bob Saget 12-05-2010 12:14 PM

His material is pretty inconsistent. He switches from spittin hard as fuck to doing faggy swag ditties like his boy Yung LA. His debut is actually one of his most consistent things he's ever released.

When Dro goes hard its amazing.

MUNGOLOID 12-05-2010 01:06 PM

there were some chill cuts off that one young dro album that came out like 5 years ago.

SwagChef 12-06-2010 02:26 PM

Jackie 12-08-2010 05:22 AM

Big Dro sold out. The game was too much, T.I and Rick Ross messed up his flow and direction. A damn shame. Kid had talent, still young though. Still hope.
