Nice, my uncle got me into them.
I've been into them for a while but I haven't listened to their stuff in some time.

pixiesfanyo 09-02-2005 06:58 PM
The new Coheed and Cambria is cool.

Edit: Upon further listening: meh
Strange.

Nobody likes it.

But me I really dig it alot.

Luxor 09-02-2005 09:46 PM

I bought Protest The Hero's new album today. So, I'm listening to that right now. It's quite a bit harder than their last.

YDload 09-02-2005 11:26 PM

I heard a Dinosaur Jr. song on the radio called "Feel the Pain." Twas pretty good.

Tangy zizzle 09-02-2005 11:28 PM

You'd like Dino Jr. Ian, they have "guitar solos".

br3ad_man 09-02-2005 11:30 PM
Napalm Death - Scum
First Isis then Napalm Death. If I didn't know better Nacho, I'd say you were on the journey towards metal.

YDload 09-02-2005 11:30 PM
You'd like Dino Jr. Ian, they have "guitar solos".
I "know"

Tangy zizzle 09-02-2005 11:42 PM

Next it'll be Mastodon, then he'll be a stupid DEP-monger.

Zappa 09-02-2005 11:46 PM

Did you know that Isis, Mastodon, and Between the Buried And Me all suck in a pretty similar fashion?

Zappa 09-02-2005 11:47 PM

But similarly crappy.

Tangy zizzle 09-02-2005 11:50 PM
Did you know that Isis, Mastodon, and Between the Buried And Me all suck in a pretty similar fashion?
Did you know that half of the crap you listen to sucks in a similar fashion?

Zappa 09-02-2005 11:59 PM

I knew that, yeah.

br3ad_man 09-03-2005 12:03 AM

I really don't like DEP, except for the EP with Patton, that's alright.

Everyone is like "omg they are so complex it just sounds like noise but its not". To me, it doesn't sound like noise, but there's no way in hell it's "so complex". And they don't freaking have jazz in them either.

Isis, Mastodon, BTBAM > Cryptopsy and Cynic (though all of those bands are good)

Tomahawk 09-03-2005 12:49 AM

Some songs on their second album are pretty cool. Ya know, the ones where the singer tries to sound like Patton.

Interstate 09-03-2005 04:59 AM

Killa Beez - The Sting
Mobb Deep - Hell On Earth

OrbDragon 09-03-2005 09:35 AM

There are so many Patton wannabe's, it's not even funny. Even Mike Patton himself has become a Patton wannabe.

Bandaid 09-03-2005 10:04 AM

i was naughty and listened to the leak of the new dirty three album, its goodness

Oh and uh, I've mainly been listening to the new Kanye West album. It's very pretty.

Bukowski 09-03-2005 11:18 AM

Tindersticks - Tindersticks
Cursive - Ugly Organ
Gang of Four - Entertainment

They're all very good. Tindersticks are excellent.

Mr Observations 09-03-2005 11:19 AM

Big Black - Atomizer
Patti Smith - Horses

OrbDragon 09-03-2005 11:46 AM

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos...I almost forgot how powerful this record is.

Happymeal 09-03-2005 12:29 PM

I thought that Calla were dreary and boring, but it turns out they're a slick band after all.

edit: Pixies I like the new Coheed as well

YDload 09-03-2005 12:35 PM

DEP is an awesome live band. I doubt I would like any of their songs at all if I hadn't seen them go crazy on stage. Also the singer looks like he's going to kill everyone so I was kind of intimidated into liking them or else :(

Robert Crumb 09-03-2005 12:35 PM

Was just looking at the Pixies thread so I think I'll just listen to them for the rest of the day.

Dog 09-03-2005 02:15 PM

Blackalicious - The Craft (Yessssssss!)
The Paper Chase - Young Bodies Heal Quickly, You Know
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Tender Prey
Tindersticks are excellent.
Yes they are.

gatorz618 09-03-2005 02:21 PM

Interpol Rocks My Socks!

Zappa 09-03-2005 04:10 PM

I'm going to refrain from downloaded the leaked Blackalicious. Because I have willpower.

snidget 09-03-2005 04:18 PM
I'm going to refrain from downloaded the leaked Blackalicious. Because I have willpower.
Well, that's what I'm diggin right now (3rd listen today, and that number will probably be higher before the day is over)

EDIT: technically it's not leaked, you can listen to the whole thing on Amazon

Daniel! 09-03-2005 04:24 PM

Michael Franti and Spearhead - Everyone Deserves Music

Just bought it.

Zappa 09-03-2005 04:25 PM
Well, that's what I'm diggin right now (3rd listen today, and that number will probably be higher before the day is over)

I know that, but I won't listen on Amazon, either.

Bartender 09-03-2005 04:26 PM

When is it due out properly?

Zappa 09-03-2005 04:28 PM

23rd in the US.

Interstate 09-03-2005 04:31 PM

Mobb Deep - Hell On Earth
Run DMC - Greatest Hits

br3ad_man 09-03-2005 04:37 PM

I really like the first two songs of The Magic Numbers. Maybe I'll like the rest sometime.

Iai 09-03-2005 04:39 PM

I'm going to listen to the leaked Blackalicious. Because I have no money.

The only full album I listened to today was Art Brut - Bang Bang Rock & Roll. It's a really fun record. I knew almost all the songs, too, having seen them last week.

br3ad_man 09-03-2005 04:42 PM

Considering Blackalicious is one of four new albums I really want this month, I'm going to have to live on very little money for the rest of the year.

Bartender 09-03-2005 04:46 PM

I'm looking forward to getting back to University so I can start putting large chunks of my food budget towards music again.

That said, the Atheist reissues come out here on Monday, so I might have to conjure up £30 within the next couple of days anyway.

EDIT: As for diggering, I just put Someday My Prince Will Come on for the first time. Sounding good so far.

Zappa 09-03-2005 04:48 PM

What else is on its way, br3ad?

I'm hoping to obtain the first five Talking Heads albums from the upcoming dualdisc release.

br3ad_man 09-03-2005 04:50 PM

BTBAM, Sigur Ros and Arcturus...probably nothing for you to get excited about :p
