I've known what Corey Taylor looks like. His picture is all over the inside of the Stone Sour album.

Thor 10-02-2005 05:23 PM

Oh, that's right. I've never really listened to Stone Sour before, so that's probably why it was a shocker for me.

Is Stone Sour any good?

flamesofbodom 10-02-2005 05:25 PM

Yeah, its like a mellow Slipknot

Shadows 10-02-2005 05:25 PM

I like them. They're a more mellow heavy metal band compared the the other things the Slipknot guys have done. The vocals and solos are great.

MRDuCran 10-02-2005 05:28 PM

Yeah I really love the vocals on that SS album too.

flamesofbodom 10-02-2005 05:30 PM

Are they coming out with any new material?

Thor 10-02-2005 05:30 PM

So does it kind of sound like Slipknot's latest album? Some of the tracks on that seemed pretty mellow.

Shadows 10-02-2005 05:32 PM

Stone Sour is more along the lines of Before I Forget.

They're starting something soon
So does it kind of sound like Slipknot's latest album? Some of the tracks on that seemed pretty mellow.
I guess you can put it that way. Corey doesnt really scream in that band though. I find some songs, like Monolith, more melodic than Slipknot material

Thor 10-02-2005 05:35 PM

Well, I might give it a try eventually, but I'm more in a black metal and power metal phase right now.

Shadows 10-02-2005 05:37 PM

Finally! I've been waiting for new Stone Sour for a while. I think their only downfall is that they don't solo nearly enough.

IheartSP 10-02-2005 05:42 PM

I hate Slipknot and Stone Sour, I could never get into the nu-metal thing.

Shadows 10-02-2005 05:44 PM

Vol.3 is the only Slipknot album I like. Stone Sour isn't nu metal though. They're more along the lines of traditional heavy metal, maybe even rock. Aside from that, I could never stand the genre either.

flamesofbodom 10-02-2005 05:48 PM

Stone Sour are not nu-metal. They sound more rock to me

Thor 10-02-2005 06:21 PM
Stone Sour are not nu-metal. They sound more rock to me
They're hard rock, period.

IheartSP 10-02-2005 06:24 PM

I haven't heard enough Stone Sour to remember what it was, I just remember immensly hating it.

Shadows 10-02-2005 06:25 PM

Understandable. They're much more media friendly than other metal/Slipknot. They're kind of a guilty pleasure for me.

IheartSP 10-02-2005 06:26 PM

There was somethng about the vocals that bothered me. Some things I don't know why I hate but they just bother me.

Everyone should be watching fox right now :thumb:

Shadows 10-02-2005 06:27 PM

I get that feeling all the time. Mostly with modern pop punk/emo/rock bands and their vocals. I don't know why, but I just can't stand it in the least.

Why? What's on?

IheartSP 10-02-2005 06:28 PM

Family Guy is a repeat tonight unfortunately.

 teh War at Home!!!

Shattered_Future 10-02-2005 07:06 PM

I saw that show once, and I was like...meh. It's boring.

Now ELIMIDATE, there's a quality show. :p

Well, it's quality at 1:30 in the morning...

EDIT: By the way, Ben, did you get the drumtracks done yet?

Shadows 10-02-2005 07:10 PM

No, I'm sorry, I had some other things to do. :( I don't mean to just throw your stuff aside, but we were doing things for my dad's birthday today, and I had to do some stuff for school too.

I'm really sorry man, I promise I'll have it done soon. :(

Apocalyptic Raids 10-03-2005 01:56 AM

Okay, so 2 nights ago I saw Bodom on the first date of their Are You Dead Yet? World Tour! They rules.

The setlist was as so (this isn't in order, since I'm going by memory here):
Hate Me
Silent Night, Bodom Night
Bodom After Midnight
Angels Don't Kill
Needled 24/7
Bodom Beach Terror
Are You Dead Yet?
In Your Face
Sixpounder
Follow The Reaper
something off Something Wild (I think it was Deadnight Warrior or In The Shadows, not sure though. I know it wasn't Lake Bodom though, since I am familiar with that track)
Downfall

There also may have been Hate Crew Deathroll and another track, but I can't remember.

All in all, an awesome night. Especially since I was on the upstairs level, leaning over the railing with no one in front of me, although when Alexi went over next to the keyboards in a couple of solos, I couldn't see him due to some darn speakers. The only disappoinment was they didn't play Bed of Razors! I though that was a certainty :(

I'm Charming 10-03-2005 02:48 AM

I'm seeing them in portland, in November. I hope they play Bed Of Razors. Outside of Downfall that list looks really good. It would be great if they played Mask Of Sanity.

x00046455 10-03-2005 04:02 AM

are you dead yet is probably the best song they've ever written!!!!!!! pure metal!!!!!

IheartSP 10-03-2005 04:15 AM

Hmm from the looks of it they only played 2 songs from AYDY during that concert.

wingding 10-03-2005 04:18 AM
If you read what I said, you'd know that they're in the UK in Jan 2006.
