"Symptom of the Universe" is quite possibly one of the heaviest riffs I've ever heard.
I love the acoustic change at the end of that song.

blue3 01-01-2006 08:05 PM
good im glad u cant tell, because all the other girl rockers i no are either punkwannaberockers, or stuck in the 90s, or groupies. no offense taken.
Ha, I was kidding. It's pretty obvious cause of your username. And I'm guessing you don't know many 'girl rockers' since all you know are the 'punkwannaberockers' or whatever.

i dont think there are many good girl guitar players either- trust me ive researched this one, nobody even compares with like hammet, iommi, rhoads, slash, the youngs, clapton...... etc check this out http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A19175-2004Aug20.html

oh but give me a guitar and a couple more years to get outta school and i will prove them all wrong...
I love the acoustic change at the end of that song.
Its a nice contrast to the heavyness of everything before it.

Its a shame they never played that part live though.

rippa32 01-02-2006 04:41 AM

I don't like it actually. It's kinda growing on me but ill always prefer the live version. And to Ladyshredder Ian Gillan didn't tour before Dio, he was actually Dio's replacement. They did the Born Again album after Bill Ward had come back and then Smoke On The Water was played live on that tour.

oops my bad

Brew 01-02-2006 11:33 AM

Iommi did quite a good job with Smoke on the Water.

rippa32 01-02-2006 07:11 PM

I thought so too. I find his solo to be more interesting than Blackmore's. I reckon hed ruin any other Deep Purple song though, no offence to Iommi but his writing style is very different.

rippa32 01-05-2006 05:52 PM

This thread is dying again. Lets try that thing again where you post some lyrics from a song and then the person to guess the song, posts lyrics for another song and so on and so on. Ill start.

"She wears her leather just to satisfy
She really throws it around
There aint one thing she cant afford to buy
Shes the richest bitch in town."

Brew 01-05-2006 05:53 PM

That was easy.

Digital Bitch :)

I'll have some up in a mo'

Edit:

''The highway's screamin', callin' out your name
Cause every road that you travel on
There's a price to pay
A thousand eyes are starin'
But the blind still lead the blind''

rippa32 01-05-2006 06:02 PM

Feels Good To Me:thumb:, that actually took me a little while, I knew it was TYR album but couldnt think of the song.

"Look in the water
Tell me what do you see
Reflections of the love you give to me
Life isn't money
It's not something you buy
Let me fill myself with tears you cry"

Brew 01-05-2006 06:05 PM

You're wrong, try again :p

And those lyrics are...ack, I know it but can't get the name.

Dio-era yes?

I'm thinking something off Heaven and Hell...

Lonely is the Word?

rippa32 01-05-2006 06:14 PM

You have the album but not the song.

EDIT: The lyrics you posted, is it Jerusalem?

Brew 01-05-2006 06:19 PM
You have the album but not the song.

It is indeed.

I can hear Dio singing your lyrics but I can't match them to a song.

Wishing Well?

rippa32 01-05-2006 06:37 PM

You got it, it's Wishing Well.

shadow_stalker 01-07-2006 07:50 PM

so whats going on with this Dio box set? is it all the dio era albums put together or a crappy little best of?

Grimm 01-08-2006 12:02 AM

I just found out that Black Sabbath will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame this year on March 13. I think I may speak for a few people when i say, About ****ing time!

Brew 01-08-2006 04:46 AM

:chug: for Sabbath then.

shadow - I think its going to be similar to the Black Box, with all the Dio-era albums being included, and a possible bonus disc of out-takes, the 2 new songs and other weird stuff that people like to put on cds.

rippa32 01-08-2006 05:07 AM

That box set would be awesome, too bad I have two Dio albums already.

That's what bit torrent is for..... lawl

:p

Brew 01-11-2006 01:47 PM

I don't like paying more than £12 for a cd, but then again I hate downloading albums.

shadow_stalker 01-13-2006 02:37 PM

I hate downloading albums, and i also hate spending £16 on albums especially when i can get it from somewhere like amazon for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper

Ladyshredder126 01-14-2006 10:48 PM

i get most of my cds from a secondhand bookstore near my house

blue3 01-14-2006 11:50 PM

I exchanged a few of my sisters' CDs at this used cd store place for better ones. I usually buy CDs and rarely download anymore.

shadow_stalker 01-15-2006 08:30 AM

I normally use a site that is linked form amazon called CaimenUSA (or something like that) delivery can be slow but its normally loads cheaper than using amazon itself

/cries for the shrinkage that has been done onto his avatar

Brew 01-16-2006 05:24 PM

Have any of the UK guys in here heard Iommi's show on Planet Rock called Black Sunday?

He has the most boring voice I've ever heard, but plays some damn good music, last night he played Trashed after talking about how it was written, but I couldn't really hear what he said 'coz my Mum was talking to me :-\

shadow_stalker 01-17-2006 06:49 AM

Cant say i have but ill keep an eye open for it just for the sake of listening

Brew 01-17-2006 11:21 AM

shadow_stalker 01-17-2006 01:24 PM
