okfine

there's a difference between wanting to do something with your life musically, like if music is my life i'll be trying my hardest to get some sort of music related job or keep playing as long as i can. socially though i'd rather not have anything socially to do with music, i don't want to talk about it, i almost wihs i could be a buckethead, that way i wouldn't be a musician around my peers but i would be to myself.

it jsut seems like in my area being a musician is a total drag sort of in the way that that's the first thing everyone thinks when they see me, "he's a good guitarist i've heard" i don't think anyone really knows who i am besides one or two people... i used to wear band t shirts but then people used to always say, oh your cool you like that band... which=lamezor to the max... i was so embarassed when people would say that that i just was like wtfzor why do i even wear these lame shirts. i mean if you dig people giving you attention for your music tastes go ahead... but uh when girls go omg you like pink floyd your hot! um ... you can figure out the rest

"music is my life, not my personality" it sort of makes sense, it was the best way to express what i was trying to say

Floydfanatic 07-27-2005 12:51 AM
He is making it sound like people that wear band shirts are shallow
it's true fool

haha not shallow, just lame, i used to do it, then i realized wait.. i don't wanna pay thirty bucks for some lame *** band t shirt, but then after that i was like ono i'll be unfashionable!!! so i went to the store and bought like fifty journey shirts

thunderzstruck 07-27-2005 12:54 AM

Floydfanatic 07-27-2005 12:58 AM

yeah i came back one day... and metal kids had overrun everything i was like WTF NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

so um now it's my goal in life to jsut uh piss off everyone by making fun of all their lame bands even though that's uber hypocritical in it'self i don't even give a ****, and making fun of metal kids to their virtual faces

PinkFloyd 07-27-2005 01:25 AM

Ok heres a story kiddies.

It was 2 years ago and I was 15 or something. I wore a Nirvana shirt on a field trip because I like Nirvana. The shirt had a picture of Kurt Cobain on it. Then these two chicks come up to me and ones like "Omg I love Chris Cobain!". I then gave a dirty look and walked away. Little did I know that 2 months later the school would be infested with kids wearing band shirts.

I think using something as beautiful as music as a mere object to obtain a higher social status is apauling. An insult to music itself. I own a few band shirts and wear them from time to time but it IS only because I am a true fan of the band I am advertising. Lucky for me I own an Animals shirt so I can atleast diferentiate myself from the 20 other kids with Darkside shirts. The moral of the story is I dont fuking know.... :C :C :C

PinkFloyd 07-27-2005 01:29 AM

Floydfanatic is a cool guy. :C

They sell Darkside shirts at Walmart these days

floyd fanatic, you dont know me, so dont even think everyone wears band shirts for social reasons. I like to collect band shirts, it doesnt make me a music social whore. I rant about Pink floyd enough so that everyone knows i love them, even without the shirts. o shi, discussing music is lame.

PinkFloyd 07-27-2005 02:05 AM

ahahah no wonder, fukers are too lazy to go downtown to get them

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 07-27-2005 02:06 AM

Kingofdudes: Isn't Guitarguy your brother? If he is can you ask why he doesn't post anymore?

It's weird I'm know as the biggest music fanatic amung my friends and I have like no shirts related to music. (except a few that I don't even wear)

PinkFloyd 07-27-2005 02:08 AM

Good^ you don't NEED a shirt to like music. All you need is a radio. :C

WheepingGuitar39 07-27-2005 08:35 AM

You will need WINRAR to unzip these files, you can get it off www.download.com
Part1
http://s53.yousendit.com/d.php?id=3C3F0B4WXFS4093H9H5VLX008
710M

Part2
http://s53.yousendit.com/d.php?id=31HJF9ZFE22OG1RZS0Y6CFZB48
623M

Make sure both files are together, and start with Part1, it should unzip Part2 at the same time to make one huge 1.3gigabyte file.

edit
ok ... PAGE NOT FOUND
What the hell?
Is Yousendit down or is it just a horrible site?

Radio = teh suck0rz

THey just play comfotably Numb and Money a thouhsand times over.

temporary 07-27-2005 10:04 AM
haha so true. one time i actually wore a pink floyd shirt to school and drug dealers actually asked if i wanted drugs... just because i was wearing the shirt i was like um.. u guys realize pf was pretty much a clean band after syd...

band shirts are lame, seeming cool because of your music tastes is even more lame
I disagree. The reason I would ware a Pink Floyd shirt would be because I love their art work. A freind of me isn't much of a Pink Floyd fan (he likes them, but not much) but has a Pink Floyd shirt because he likes the artwork.

What does piss me off is the hundred people who ware Dark Side of the Moon shirts who upon asking them their favorite song they respond: we don't need no education.

WheepingGuitar: That sucks... I guess Yousendit.com is bad.

PinkFloyd 07-27-2005 01:21 PM

^The artwork? Jeez, you know there are thousands of shirts dedicated to good artwork? Why must they pick Floyd shirts. :C

Same here. They davle into Time and Wish You Were Here though... yeah that still sucks. I would love them to crank up some Empty Spaces. :C

DeusExMachina 07-27-2005 03:58 PM

Why do you assume that people wearing band t-shirts are doing it for social status? I wear them because I like them. If I wanted social status, I would have to stop wearing my music t-shirts (all the guys here listen to Metallica and Pantera, all the girls listen to John Mayer). Some people like to wear them, some people don't, but you certainly shouldn't judge people based on whether or not they wear a band t-shirts.

NP: the album Wish You Were Here... on the piano... because I have all the sheet music for it. Pwnage.

BludgeonySteve 07-27-2005 04:00 PM

Bleh, only wear a Pink Floyd shirt if you're a fan of their music. Anything else is being a poser bitch whore omgomg.

Yes, the radio does suck. Satellite radio is way better.
