Tulip fabric paint. The specific color fo that one was "glacier white"

Sieg Howdy 04-24-2006 08:11 PM
That looks really sweet but it's probably going to be tough.

My DIY skills continue to lack. It's because I don't have the patience.

wow that's one sexy guitar you got now!

You guys just use spray paint with the stencils? Anything better would work?

Depends where you spray it. If you're spraying shirts you shouldn't really use a normal spraypaint. You should get some fabric paint and use that.

If you're out on the street spraying stuff you should use spraypaint.
Tulip fabric paint. The specific color fo that one was "glacier white"
Coincidentally, that's the exact same thing I use.

RetiredAt21 04-24-2006 08:59 PM

Jones soda is mad overrated.

POINTLESS5448 04-24-2006 09:03 PM

as is fabric paint for shirts.

(this is coming from a kid that only uses spraypaint =/ )

Danger Bird 04-24-2006 09:25 PM

What kind of fabric paint is best? Do you use spray on fabric paint like this? Or do you get it in liquid form and use a roller or something?

I've never used fabric paint but I'd use the liquid stuff and use a roller on it. The stencil on the shirt will probably come out cleaner and there wouldn't be any underspray. Just clean crisp lines.

This is just my opinion. Wait til asdf or someone else who uses fabric paint comes in here. THey'll give you a better answer.

Anarcho Poser 04-24-2006 09:52 PM

I use liquid paint and a little foam roller. Using the kind of roller you'd use to paint room probablty isn't such a good idea. I use something sort of like this

incubass 04-24-2006 09:54 PM

yea i trired white spraypaint on a black shirt and i had to use a lot so i wouldnt suggest it for white on black but on a white shirt, red and black spray paint work fairly well.

Danger Bird 04-24-2006 09:54 PM

Cool, that's what I thought. Maybe I'll swing by the paint store tomorrow. I have a paint store like 5 minutes' bike ride from my house, it's awesome.

I have never used the spray stuff, but I kind of want to try it.

I use just fabric paint in a bottle and use a paintbrush to apply. I've also used a roller and it worked just as well.

When did you come back?

AIRIC 04-25-2006 07:53 PM

He came back yesterday I think.

Ghostfire3 04-25-2006 08:09 PM

I knew he would. This place is addicting.

AIRIC 04-25-2006 08:12 PM

It really is.

iam2000pounds 04-25-2006 11:43 PM

Oh. Cool I guess.
On a DIY note, I made a super cool Dead Kennedys shirt on Sunday.

Danger Bird 04-25-2006 11:44 PM

Would white fabric paint show up on a black denim jacket? I'm thinking I'm doing the famous Minor Threat design really big on the back of the jacket then miscellaneous band logos all over, sort of like a leather jacket with no studs.

The fabric paint would probably take two coats to make it stand out better.

I stenciled the Trojan Records helmet onto this army vest thing that I'm making and that was white paint onto dark green and I had to use two coats. I keep meaning to stitch a Discharge back-patch to it but I'm too lazy and I also want to stencil the Conflict logo onto the top part of the back.
