Got in from baseball practice not to long ago. I finally have my swing and I think I mastered it. Then my damn coach got me pitching tonight when I have told him a hundred times I don't want to pitch, but if it gets me on the team, why the hell not?

Funny Story!

My sister was driving me to baseball practice and she had the Blink 182 Greatest Hits CD in (pointless information) and she was changing the songs, taking her eyes off the road, she then ran into the curb, onto a random front lawn and then out onto a busy road. Luckily no cars were coming all that happened was I smoked my head off the roof. My sister came out with a destroyed front right tire and a messed up rim, I think. It was scary at the time, but now it's really funny.

I agree. My head is starting to hurt a bit now.

EDIT: Time for bed, night.

ATTN: James

Afternoon Drinking: Nice, <3 Ska. First thing I notice is the mix. Usually vocals are too soft, in your case I'd drop them back just a tad, they are very dominating, which is good, but I think they're a little too dominating. I'd also mix the Bass higher. Other than that it sounded pretty nice. I think when the guitar throws on the distortion it could be a little louder too, a little more driving, it has that growl but you can't really feel it because it's so far back. When it's doing Ska strokes though it sounds great.

The Joy of Rejection: The snare should be louder, it sounds like your drummer may be ghosting, but it doesn't come in at all and it throws it off a bit to me. It sounds almost like he keeps missing, except it's constant so I assume it's ghosting. Bass could have better low end. Vocals are a bit high here too but not as badly nor noticeable as in AD. Nice guitar solo, too bad you can't do much about recording quality because it would sound very nice a little cleaner.

Try to Survive: Catchy intro. Are there never going to be vocals, or just not any are there yet? I'd keep the guitar a little cleaner during the Ska portions, a little too distorted to me. I think it'd be sweet to add a more Ska-like bassline if this is an instrumental (or even if not) because Ska bass is so fun. To be honest, I'd re-record the lead guitar on this one, it doesn't come through very well, I can't tell if it was sloppy or just the recording though.

Anyways, that's me listening with my critical ear, so don't take it too harshly, I enjoyed it :)
Actually love them? If so, I'm quite impressed. Love is not easy.

You're a more accepting person than I, I guess.
I dunno, I just try to find stuff I can identify with for everybody. People are pretty easy to like if you give them the benefit of the doubt and accept that you won't always know why they do stuff.

You're my hero.

I aspire to be Joel.

EDIT: He can keep his singing voice, though. :p

cbmartinez 02-20-2006 10:50 PM

I admire that alot, Joel. That's a really healthy way to live.

Oh...wait :-\

Eh, I'm bad about that, but that's good of you heh. Nice attitude to have. :)

postlapsaria 02-21-2006 12:43 AM

I don't like trends >_>

Permanent Solution 02-21-2006 12:46 AM

Maybe it's just that trends don't like you.

That's why you've never been popular :-*

postlapsaria 02-21-2006 01:07 AM

Ouch Vince. Just... ouch.

Permanent Solution 02-21-2006 01:12 AM

postlapsaria 02-21-2006 01:13 AM

Yeah baby, take me back to the days where this thread was nothing but sex and conspiring to get someone demodded. Oh, those were the days.

<3

Permanent Solution 02-21-2006 01:16 AM

Hahahah, oh man those were indeed the days.

Whatever happened to demodding all those fags and making me mod?

I feel so old school right now...1/2 the old school guys are gone :(

postlapsaria 02-21-2006 01:18 AM

Heck yeah they were.

I dunno, we should fire back up the campaign. I'll start making avatars ASAP.

Yeah, I miss the old school kids. The new school is cool, don't get me wrong, but man, when I first joined this place was slammin'.

Permanent Solution 02-21-2006 01:23 AM

Hahaha, sweet

I do too. I like the new kids fine, but the old school kids were a little older. I feel so old with the new kids :-\ The old kids should just come back and this place would be awesome. Old and new kids all together.

PDWAB 02-21-2006 01:31 AM

Psh, you think you're old? My 4th Mx birthday is coming up!

What was your old name, postlap?

postlapsaria 02-21-2006 01:31 AM

That's what I'm talkin about. Some of the old school kids are back though, Andy comes by every now and then, Ric's around, I always see Chris whenever I come back, Rissa's here sometimes, I hadn't seen Joel in ages but he's right up the page from me, and of course there's the lovely Jon, and who could forget Kif. I dunno, some people don't come here at all anymore. None of them really come to mind, but I'm sure I'm forgetting some right now.

The result? I actually like it.

For sure. Once I really listened to it and realized how much work was put into every track, I gained a lot of respect for the album as a whole.

Vince has a superiority complex when it comes to age. This is nothing new.
