Yea, Perfect Strangers is a pretty good album, I have it on vinyl. Wasted Sunsets is one of DP's best, at least I think.

I picked up Ace of Spades by Motorhead and At the Edge by Mickey Hart today. The Mickey Hart album is all weird percussion except for one song that has Jerry Garcia playing guitar, and another where he play a guitar synthesiser. I've only listened to like one and a half songs, so all I can tell is that it's very ambient and it kinda creates a rain forest type atmosphere.

Hey guys I need some help I'm writing some stuff for the paper about Classic Rock, and I just want to know some peoples views other then just mine. :)
I know Classic Rock is not technically a genre or what not but lets just say it is for the purpose of this.
1. What artist that you feel is the best example of classic rock?
2. What album do you think is the best example of classic rock?
3. Would you consider the Keyboards a typical instrument for classic rock?
4. Are the following bands classic rock: Guns N Roses, U2, Iron Maiden, Metallica.

Uh, if you guys could just tell me your opinions that'd be awesome and if you don't tell me your opinions well shiz.

4. Depends on how you define classic rock. By my definition (big before 1980) then probably not. U2 came around in the late 70s but weren't popular until the 80s, so I don't count them. I'm not sure when Maiden started, but I'm willing to consider them classic rock. Metallica and GnR, no.

I'd say so. They were very blues oriented.

From what I've heard, it's much better than a lot of the other stuff. It was pre-Johnson, and he sounds like a muppet.

Well, they debuted in 1980 which is borderline classic rock era, but I think their sound is pure metal so I wouldn't call them classic rock.

Not so much a genre, but rather a label given to bands from the mid/late 60's to the late 70s/early 80s. Since there is no one sound or likeness found in all classic rock bands, I don't think it's a genre in the traditional sense.

I hope that makes sense.
