I went to NFT on Thursday but missed Panic cause I had to wait outside for an hour in the snow. They are touring with The Academy Is... though and the show by me is two days before my birthday so I am going to see them with Acceptance and Hellogoodbye and I like both those bands too.

Pazz 11-20-2005 05:10 PM

I would love to the The Academy Is... live. In less than 2 weeks is the From First To Last concert, I'm going to.:thumb:

Young Jeezy!

DepthsOfDreams555 11-20-2005 07:57 PM

I wasn't listening to Fall Out Boy a lot then I went to that show on Thursday and now I am listening to them a lot.

HomeCatMickey8 11-20-2005 07:58 PM

Wu-Tang rules rap. Young Jeezy wouldn't stand a chance against any of them.

B 11-20-2005 07:58 PM

Were they any good live? How were the other bands?

Edit: To Zach

I had to frickin wait outside for an hour in jeans and a t-shirt o ya in the snow and when I get in finally Panic! is just finishing and I heard zero of their set!!! I was livid haha. So I made a big fuss in front of the Panic! merch table cussing and punchin myself in the face but after I got over it I went in and watched Boys Night Out who were amazing. Motion City Soundtrack was good once their first song was over. The mic was really scratchy. Then The Starting Line actually played really good but Kenny kept talking about like hot and steamy tracks off of Based On A True Story and I was kinda getting annoyed. Fall Out Boy were amazing thats what surprised me. They really played good I had a great time despite the Panic! fiasco.

A bit wierd eh? All this random crap happening. I thought it was OK though. I'd give it about a 5/10.

Well, the night essentially begins with band practice at my house at about 6pm. We played a few songs, and then realised that it was after 7 and the show started at 7.30pm. So we (me, my bassist and drummer) headed out to the bus stop and stood there for 25 minutes before we realised that the bus service we were waiting for doesn't run on Sundays.

So we quickly rang a taxi, and arrived at Fibbers in time to see the last 3 songs of the first band, Death Defying Life. Which annoyed me copiously, as they are amazing, and also I know the drummer and he's a great guy. Whatever, during the second band (whose name I can't even remember - they were very generic punk with little standing out) I did get to have a chat with Dave (Death Defying Life drummer)... yeah. Then, the main attraction: Capdown. I managed to get into the pit and stay there for the whole set, although to say it was manic would be a bit of an understatement. It did remind me of the best moments of my Mad Caddies experience, especially when they played 'Ska Wars'.

Toward the end, I found myself one row from the front, and was drunk enough to lean over and ask the drummer for a drumstick after the last song. He politely declined.

However, there was photo fun, specifically:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v675/billiejoe84/Capdown1.jpg - Never try to take a photo during a song when in the middle of a moshpit, or this will happen. I'm really annoyed, coz as I took this the singer/sax player looked straight at me, and it would have made an amazing pic.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v675/billiejoe84/Capdown2.jpg - The bassist turning his back on me. As any sensible man would.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v675/billiejoe84/Capdown3.jpg - A slightly better pic of Mr.Sax Man.

So, there be my night of Capdown fun. Also, I just listened to Jon's podcast - good work, man. I enjoyed it muchly. The second song (Capital Tragedy I think it was) was especially mint... Can you sort me out with the EP that's off? Failing that, I liked the other two songs as well so either of those would be cool also.
