Good finds my good man. The Wall is pretty damn cool, Led Zeppelin I is my favorite after 2, then 3, and On the Beach is a perfect album IMO, and my favorite Neil album.

NP: Gram Parsons - Return of the Grievous Angel
Why thank you. The only Zep album I'm missing now is Physical Graffiti, and I'd been putting off buying On the Beach until I found it for a cheaper price, but I couldn't wait any longer.

Ulysses 02-24-2006 03:33 AM

I know its not exactly mainstream classic rock as such but has anyone got The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus and if so is it good, I've seen a few reviews and they seem to be fond of it.
NP: Gram Parsons - Return of the Grievous Angel

The news I could bring I met up with the king
On his head an amphetamine crown
He talked about unbuckling that old bible belt
And lighted out for some desert town
Out with the truckers and the kickers and the cowboy angels
And a good saloon in every single town
Good lyrics. Gram was a great writer.

Broken Arrow 02-24-2006 07:57 AM

It's amazing. Definetly buy it if you have the chance, I've only seen it for sale once and I grabbed it first chance. Lunch introduced them to us.(Well atleast me)

After 12 Dreams buy their Self Titled album.

robo2448 02-24-2006 10:22 AM

Yeah Spirit is great. Definitely get 12 Dreams if you can. It's a really great album.

I prefer The Family That Plays Together to s/t though. But yeah, 12 Dreams is the best and the one to get first.

np: Canned Heat- Bullfrog Blues

Physical Graffiti is awesome, Although IMO disc 2 is better than disc 1, bar ´Trampled Underfoot´.

I need Prescence, Led Zep I and Coda, to finish off the collection.

Good album. I have that and their s/t. Both pretty good.

Anybody want me to send some stuff out?

Too bad the archives aren't back, but he's posting more great stuff. He's got an album by the Rockets up there, who later became Crazy Horse. I might download that later.

np: more Canned Heat

My dad had it on CD and awhile back I decided to listen to it. Since then it's become one of my favorite psychedelic albums. I whored Spirit out pretty well around here so most people have a couple of their albums now.

I've been a Neil Young fan for ages, and I just listened to On The Beach last night. It's really awesome, especially side 2.

Has anybody heart An American Prayer by The Doors? It's suprisingly good.
Has anybody heart An American Prayer by The Doors? It's suprisingly good
Yea, but only a few times, but what I've heard I really like. Then again I like the doors a lot, so I'm prone to like it.

Led-ZeppelinIV 02-24-2006 03:34 PM

Yeah. Did you check out that studio version of Celebration of the Lizard on Legacy?

JonG 02-24-2006 03:39 PM

I run into Charlie Fog,
Blacked my eye and he kicked my dog,
My doggie turned to me and he said,
Let's head back to Tennessee Jed.
I woke up a feelin' mean,
Went down to play the slot machine,
The wheels turned around, and the letters read,
You better head back to Tennessee Jed.

Nobody ever wants me to send anything out :x

ya, man that was pretty sweet. I should probably pick up that album. Next time I'm at the record store

Krabsworth 02-24-2006 04:02 PM

I was watching this show on TLC where they have like a rock n roll camp type of thing, and these people have to get together and learn a song and then play it with Roger Daltrey. Daltrey was so awesome, this drummer was doing horrible and Daltrey was like,"Do you have a tempo box?", and it was so awesome.

Led-ZeppelinIV 02-24-2006 04:25 PM

I downloaded this torrent of 9 heavy psychedelic blues albums, but I only wanted one of them, Aurora by Stained Glass. I'm starting to listen to the other ones now, so far it's pretty good. The others are:
Shiver-San Fransico's Shiver
Suck-Time to Suck
The Adventures of Robert Savage Vol. 1
The Collectors-Grass and Wild Strawberries
The Electronic Hole-The Electronic Hole
The Flow-Greatest Hits
The Human Instinct-Stoned Guitar
The Insect Trust-Hoboken Saturday Night

morrison357 02-24-2006 06:13 PM

Did anyone download the zeppelin bootleg from the chrisgoesrock site yet? and if so, is it any good?

BigTrav415 02-24-2006 06:55 PM

Zep bootleg thou sayeth?

/runs to site like a fanboy on crack

jpj 02-24-2006 07:17 PM

I saw that, but I didn't feel like downloading it. Someone should upload it.

EDIT: I downloaded Future Blues by Canned Heat off of the 8 Days in April blog. It's pretty sweet.

Has anyone read Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac? Any good? On the Road is like a bible for me at the moment and I'm already extremly interested in Zen so I'm figuring this is going to be the perfect book for me.
Hey guys, I bought Djangology today. :) It's great so far.
Listen to "Minor Swing"!

It's seriously the greatest song I've ever heard. At the moment Djangology is one of my favorite albums period. It contains so much amazingly great playing on both guitar and violin, so incredibly beautiful. Words can't describe how I feel about it, it's the only album that I can put on at any time, in any mood. I love it....

Haha, I thought of you when I saw that song title. I was going to say, "Now I know what Schyma's Usertitle means" but I realized you changed it. I haven't heard a bad song on the album so far.

could you upload Roxy and Elsewhere?

BigTrav415 02-24-2006 09:48 PM

I've been obcessing over some Obscured By Clouds today. I love how poppy songs like Free Four, Wot's.. Uh the Deal, and The Gold It's In The.. are. It's completely different form other Floyd stuff, but yet great. It's also really cool to hear elements of earlier Floyd in their later stuff, I think the bass organ slam in Free Four is the same one you can hear in the Time intro if you listen. Pretty cool stuff.

That is a pretty slick song. I tried for about a half hour to learn the lead on guitar, and made almost no progress. There is seemingly no basic pattern to it, but he makes it sound so good.

I like obscured by clouds, but I don't listen to it often. I like PATGOD and saucerful of secrets better, more psychedelic.
