Totally Louis Johnson style! Go for it!

Mr. Jiggy Fly 03-05-2005 09:02 PM

Read my post above, I made a comment on it looking like Louis Johnsons. I love it!

They had a used on on BassNW awhile ago, I don't think it's still there though.

Mr. Jiggy Fly 03-05-2005 09:06 PM

Im definately buying new.

BassVirtuoso 03-05-2005 09:11 PM

So my bass is under way. I just cut the maple and mahogony.

I'm making a Neck Through Single Cut Fretless by the way. Mahogony neck and maple body. Fender Active Electronics and hardware.

PaulSimonon 03-05-2005 09:11 PM

To me, that's like buying a new car... Why?

Nice!

I see you've foregone my potential preamp... :upset:

Mr. Jiggy Fly 03-05-2005 09:14 PM

Because I want to take care of it and have it for years to come. Besides, buying used = 800. New =1200. Its 400 dollars, which in the long run isnt that much.

BassVirtuoso 03-05-2005 09:15 PM

If you can get a preamp for me I will definently buy it. My problem is I have no money.

I'd go with the Fender now. I haven't even made the pre-amp yet, so it would be quicker. I'm probably going to make it after I get comfortable with circiutry, as I'm in the preliminary stages of making a compressor/ EH smallstone copy that I'll shove into one pedal. If I get that down, I'll begin on preamps. I'm going to make one for my fretless, and probably have enough parys to make another, so I'd try to make you one as well if you haven't bought it yet. Mind you, this might take a month or more, but with the leftover parts it could be potentially cheap for you.

There's a really good book. I highly suggest looking for it on the web,Building Electric Guitars by Martin Koch. He's got a lot of stuff on his website as well, www.buildyourguitar.com
