nice dude, you're pretty good with your money. that's about what i make now but i've been getting OT lately so I'm hoping for a pretty decent paycheck. i'm thinking of moving out soon - there's lots of studios not too far away for like $495 a month
yeah apartments are cheap as fuck around here, i wanna say no more than $400/month for a GREAT apartment, gonna ask my lady to marry me in a year when i have enough liquid cash for a good ring, then move out and work my ass of for another 4 years through pharmacy school, get my PharmD, then work as a pharmacist and save some money up to support my family then go to medical school and become a doctor etc

pretty excited for the future

12XU 04-14-2011 02:06 PM

nice dude, things are working out.

i'm gonna have to go on 100% financial aid if I move out though... can't afford to pay out of pocket if i'm moving out. but idk it's something i need to do i think. im pretty sure i can get a lot of aid if i file under myself instead of my dad
you've been a dick recently

I want to get paid, you know? I know I can volunteer but CREAM
Everyone wants to get paid moron, however why should an employer take a risk employing you, with no works experience over someone who's been volunteering and doing charity work for the past 6 months ?

If you keep the attitude you have, then I hope you don't find employment.

I have no problem with your Goron, but you're a few years younger than me matey, and it shows with this slightly immature outlook. And I'm extremely laid back but for someone reason people take me too seriously.

TimJim 04-14-2011 02:10 PM

i started as a cook at Noodles and Co. and worked my way up from there

they hired me based off of the volunteer work i did over a summer in mexico

P13 04-14-2011 02:10 PM

I'm not saying they should, I'm saying I hope I can find a place where they will take the risk.
I'm also not going to not apply anywhere and go straight to volunteering when there is a chance that I can get a real job.
I understand how the world works and there are plenty of places that give work to people with no experience, and I know I may have to do volunteer work, it's just I'd prefer not to.

the "i'm sorry but did ___ already lose" copy/paste is always gold

12XU 04-14-2011 02:11 PM

everyone should volunteer, but not with the intent for employment but because it's the right thing to do. tons of places hires kids with no work experience simply because they can under-employ them and give 'em minimum wage until they become valuable. that's how all shitty jobs start off as, you work your way up.

illmitch 04-14-2011 02:11 PM

got my first job as a piano teacher cuz its the same place i learned how to play piano didnt have any work experience

I said my goodbyes on monday when I visited, she was responsive but really ill and I was fine yesterday once I heard (my little sister's only 12 so I was trying to be there for her) up until I saw her body, that's when I broke down.

Angmar 04-14-2011 02:46 PM

I was quite young when my grandparents on my moms side passed away, but my grandparents on my dads side are quite young still (65 and 66 I think) so I'm pretty happy that I'll probably have them around for several more years.
