I love your stuff mate, I put Boreal Rain on a mix disc for my car.
Heh, cheers dude. Thing is, I like recording and whatnot and publishing the stuff online, but I just dunno what to do next with it o.O

EDIT: And with that, off to uni I go. Design and Test of Digital Systems, and Digital Signal Processing await....

guitarbaz 10-05-2010 04:05 AM

ooo me new valves have arrived :)

facking expensive tho, over 100 notes for the set goddammit

Sad But True 10-05-2010 04:29 AM

100 watt amp?

guitarbaz 10-05-2010 06:30 AM
100 watt amp?
50W Engl Screamer

it's just the 2 x 5331's that need changed really but i've not been fully happy with the sound since i last re-valved it. so i've gone for a full set from Watford valves per their recommends for a retro sound.

we shall see.....

Oh nice, so preamp valves and everything?

benfan 10-05-2010 09:34 AM

I think the JJ Teslas for my 5150II came to around £100. Power and pre amp tubes.

guitarbaz 10-05-2010 10:29 AM

aye it was the whole lot, 2 power amp valves and the 4 pre amps ones as well. ain't cheap when you do them all together!! hoping it'll sound sweet as a nut...

motogrifo 10-05-2010 01:20 PM

my JJs were like 60 bucks, but only the power amp ones, bought them like 4 years ago, still working.

benfan 10-05-2010 01:23 PM

I had to get 4 power tubes and 6 pre amp tubes

guitarbaz 10-05-2010 01:35 PM

thats the rub with good valve amps, but hey, it's worth it for the sound amirite?

4 years on the power amp valves?? that's good going, this set has only lasted 1 year. but then i'm gigging a fair bit and it gets moved about a lot, they don;t like that when they're still hot.

Sad But True 10-05-2010 02:30 PM

Mine mus be coming up to 18 months if not 2 years. They probably should be changed out but they work alright for now and I just don't have the cash.

guitarbaz 10-06-2010 01:29 AM

hey like the saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it. mine went for years before i had to replace them and then lasted only a year. hence i'm going to bias them properly this time instead of just wanging them in and hoping for the best..

benfan 10-06-2010 02:35 AM

My amp has a auto bias thingy on it, which is nice cause i have no idea how to do it myself.

Sad But True 10-06-2010 09:27 AM

Fixed bias is the awesome, Laney have got that shit right on the money.

AG 10-06-2010 11:15 AM

Fucking aced the phone interview, next up a free train ride to warhammer world for an all day interview session with free buffet!

Fricken awesome. Defo want this job bad.

Sad But True 10-06-2010 01:20 PM

My mate was lined up for a manager's job at GW but they want their managers to be able to just pick up and go live in whatever city they need a manager in so he didn't go for it (local band commitments, house, girlfriend just moved in, etc). I would totally love to have that job though if it was for my local store.

Also Warhammer World is amazing. I spent an entire day there just playing battles on every table in there.

Oh shit you'll also get free tickets to Golden Demon won't you? Gad damn that's a fun day, and the potential for nicking stuff is huge!

Blue_Moon 10-06-2010 04:03 PM

Nice motor actually, better than my Polo. I want a Transit though tbh.

Kuffuffled 10-06-2010 04:45 PM

Steering wheel is on the wrong side lolololol

Blue_Moon 10-06-2010 04:46 PM

mirror even...

it's not bad, 1.3L 1400cc or something got it for €850 just nct'd (mot) for 2 years last month... It just got a service and battery prior to getting it also

Insurance is about €70 a month ...Which in Ireland for a male under 25 isn't bad considering my first quote on a 1.3 ford fiesta was €4,000 a year when i was 21 with a provisional licence... carbon tax's, road taxes, insurance, costs a small fortune to get a car in this country for a male, just not worth it on a really fancy car, so that should do me for 2 years

Kuffuffled 10-06-2010 04:58 PM

LOL you pay carbon taxes? That's brutal, what a sham

Blue_Moon 10-06-2010 05:09 PM

Don't get me started, theres 4-5 more tolls coming in on 1 road next year! the roads are terrible too... A country as small as Ireland paying carbon taxes.... nuts!

and €31 a month for road tax... i bet its cheaper to drive an escalade around L.A

Petrol here costs €1.30 a litre, So in USD a gallon would cost around $5.20

cost me an extra €160 to change the car details on my policy to an almost identical car!

The country is a mess and trying to drive is not cheap, sure its €10 to get the bins collected once a week! and the good people of the coutnry have to make up 50,000,000,000 to bail out a bank that doesn't exist anymore... I am definitly leaving this country next year, I'll bring my funky new motor

The_Mop 10-06-2010 05:35 PM

Come to england. We have... errr......

.... SBT wearing eyeliner. Oh yes.

Blue_Moon 10-06-2010 05:58 PM

I had to keep telling people that when gas here broke $4 a few years ago and they were all freaking out. Europeans are getting raped.

Blue_Moon 10-06-2010 06:29 PM

They are indeed, + people in Ireland are getting Uber raped :)

God dammit man it was one time and I was practically forced to! I'm never gonna live this down am I?

Also, England has thinly veiled racism, a financial market in tatters, high unemployment and chavs; it's fantastic.

purple_hazer 10-06-2010 07:56 PM

sounds like the shitty parts of america-lite

replace chavs with faggoty bros though

JoshIsNumber3 10-06-2010 08:26 PM

sounds like all of america, replace thinly veiled racism with open racism and chavs with bros though

purple_hazer 10-06-2010 08:27 PM

Blue_Moon 10-06-2010 08:31 PM

Fix'd... now if we could just do something with that Hyundai logo.

JoshIsNumber3 10-06-2010 09:13 PM

also i guess we have lfd here too, so that puts us at the bottom of list.

Left Face Down 10-06-2010 09:18 PM

The bottom of the list is pretty good... I'm usually defining new lows in your books.

JoshIsNumber3 10-06-2010 09:32 PM

yeah but you bring our entire hemisphere down

The Transporter 10-06-2010 10:02 PM

Aye, I'm hoping I can do the training year locally but then I don't really mind moving. It's a heck of a step up, carreer wise, if I get my own store.
