best "screamo" split

Agna Moraine's Autobiography & Rentamerica

probably

SlightlyEpic 02-03-2011 03:42 PM

no such thing as best

HighandDriving 02-03-2011 05:06 PM

New Adorno 7inch is out.

SlightlyEpic 02-03-2011 05:07 PM

the split with The Black Heart Rebellion? is it any good?

Juddybear 02-03-2011 06:59 PM
My favourite screamo split is probably the Sed Non Satiata/Daitro split, closely followed by the Pg.99/Majority Rule and the Takaru/A Light in the Attic splits
fuuuuuuck, no idea how i forgot about that shit, fucking amazing split, also pg.99/coc split is great too

12XU 02-03-2011 07:16 PM
touche amore/la dispute split is mad fucking
yeah. you know jeremy wrote the lyrics for jordan and vise versa, right? that's what makes it so awesome, you can totally tell, too.

witchxrapist 02-03-2011 07:40 PM

whoa, i didn't know that but that's cool as hell

christsimpson 02-03-2011 07:41 PM

CC/pg99 split has pg99's best material

Juddybear 02-03-2011 07:42 PM

i disagree but its still mad great

12XU 02-03-2011 08:08 PM

k i havent downloaded anything in like 2 months, let's hear some good fucking emo plz

christsimpson 02-03-2011 08:10 PM

what kind

http://rhinoprod.no/RestOfMyLife.zip is the album of the decade probably
ffo: The Shyness Clinic, The Appleseed Cast, A Bunny's Caravan, etc

btw did you like HBIAS? because I know a band you'll probably dig then

12XU 02-03-2011 08:21 PM

yeah i love HBIAS, anything like that would be awesome, thanks.

Maybe some softcore emo, twinkly stuff. Anything with honest, emotional lyrics I usually love too. It can be aggressive, doesn't really matter.

Do you have The Khayembii Communique or I, Robot? Those are my screamo reccs. Strictly Ballroom is my emo recc.

christsimpson 02-03-2011 08:23 PM
yeah i love HBIAS, anything like that would be awesome, thanks.

that record I posted was softcore :-) (ALBUM OF THE DECADE, mark my words)

here's the new record by The Whoopass Girls: http://thewhoopassgirls.bandcamp.com/. Ethan (HBIAS) is in it, and it's amazing. Christie Front Drive-ish.

xMalcolmXx 02-03-2011 10:12 PM

just got the pg99/coc split and the first band i ever played in in 8th grade wrote a song that was the exact same as the list and we thought it sucked back then. really don't know how to feel right now.

12XU 02-03-2011 10:14 PM

wait what?

xMalcolmXx 02-03-2011 10:16 PM

the song we wrote is exactly the same as the list. didnt realize the list was on document 8 too wtf

edit: my document #8 doesnt have it. is the version on there any different than the one on the split?

12XU 02-03-2011 10:17 PM

yeah it sound so damn close to the original too. awesome song

christsimpson 02-04-2011 12:22 PM

just got the City of Caterpillar demo
how skram am I

SlightlyEpic 02-04-2011 12:43 PM

best band

Juddybear 02-04-2011 01:43 PM

if they had more material i would agree with that

publicastration 02-04-2011 02:28 PM

don't agree that a band has to have a lot of material to be considered a top band

witchxrapist 02-04-2011 02:36 PM

i love coc but

publicastration 02-04-2011 02:37 PM

we know u love cock

xMalcolmXx 02-04-2011 02:39 PM

been reading coc as corrosion of conformity the past couple pages. feelin like an asshole

witchxrapist 02-04-2011 02:41 PM

i love cock butt

Juddybear 02-05-2011 06:45 PM
don't agree that a band has to have a lot of material to be considered a top band
i didnt say a lot i just said more

publicastration 02-06-2011 12:44 AM
i didnt say a lot i just said more
still

justify your claim nao

christsimpson 02-06-2011 09:44 AM

bands with a short lifespan are often the best ones

Juddybear 02-06-2011 11:00 AM
still

justify your claim nao
how hard is it to understand that city of caterpillar (undeniably an amazing) would be even better with more material? are you retarded?

christsimpson 02-06-2011 11:36 AM

not necessarily. it's not uncommon for a band to make a glorious album, then sell out and make shit music. or just skip the selling out and go directly to making shit music.

Scarch 02-06-2011 12:06 PM

I think I understand what Juddybear is trying to say. It would have been better if City of Caterpillar had produced more material.

But they themselves would not neccessarily have improved skill or talent wise. They would not neccessarily have produced better material, they may have even produced worse material, theoretically.

xMalcolmXx 02-06-2011 12:22 PM

lets all just agree that 5 amazing albums are better than 1 amazing album ok

christsimpson 02-06-2011 12:30 PM

let's agree that one amazing album is better than one amazing album and four shit albums

let's furthermore agree that the discussion as to whether City of Caterpillar would produce amazing or shit albums is completely fruitless due to a complete lack of theoretical or practical possibility of either scenario being carried out.

CompanionCube 02-06-2011 12:47 PM

but one amazing album isnt better than one amazing album and four shit ones

christsimpson 02-06-2011 12:52 PM

yes it is. who would want their favourite band to put out a bunch of shit music. perfect discography > one great album, a lot of shit albums.

xMalcolmXx 02-06-2011 12:59 PM

perfect discography with a bunch of releases > perfect discography with an lp and a split

dont think juddy was saying that he'd rather have city of caterpillar release more stuff even if it was shitty
yeah

Scarch 02-06-2011 01:08 PM

How about this, one amazing album is better than nothing, so enjoy what you have instead of complaining about not having more?

And take Alexisonfire for example (not Screamo), one amazing album, and then a slow gradual decline. Hey, other people like their other albums, so they exist for them, but to me Alexisonfire only ever released one album, their s/t. And for that I'm truly grateful.
i like your logic

Scarch 02-06-2011 01:16 PM

Thanks. :P

Also, as an individual, you are capable of making the music you wish existed. That is what I do.

Edit:
christsimpson does have a somewhat valid point though, a perfect discography gives a band a much higher reputation. If they had one awesome album and a slow gradual decline in the quality of their albums afterward, then when you recommended them you'd have to deal with a lot of people coming back and saying the band was only okay, or they didn't like it at all because, "Oh no, you listened to the wrong albums, you have to listen to their only good one!"
