I disagree. Those stars intimidate even me, despite the fact that I'll get stars of my own when I reach 1,000 posts. It's a good motivator, at least in R+M where there aren't so many Pit rep whores.

Her its based off of merit. Certain people won't earn stars so they don't need to worry.

heres a few reasons why its stupid.
1) People will offer something to download just to get rep
2) people give you negative rep because you think a certain band is good and they think its garbage, how good is this when people give you negative rep for no reasons what so ever. Zakath gave me -92 for no reason, so theres an example already. Thats enough to support it

I don't know any one who offer downloads for reps. I neg rep if you are irritatingly stupid. Zakath neg reps for the same reason.I also neg rep people who ask for rep.

I think you'll find that the reason Zakath gave you -92 is because he's Zakath

Yeah, if somebody credible down-reps you it's probably because you were being belligerent or irritating while pressing a point. No offense, DT, but I've seen you get a bit hot-headed at times, and that's probably why. You can always tell when a troll down-reps you because they almost never sign it or leave a comment, in which case that's really stupid. This is one of the reasons I rarely post in the Pit: I got down-repped twice for "having a sux avater."

And guitrguy, I see kids like the kind DT is talking about all the time. They usually exist in the Pit.

yes i admit i go get hotheaded from time to time. but i did nothing to zakath, i posted in 1 pit subject and zakath gave me - rep and my post wasn't offensive or retarded or anything along those lines. And papashank was letting people download DT's live at budokan for rep.
