I live in the 5th largest city in the country (and def. top 10 in the continent) and we don't get half of the good shows that every other city gets. It's BS.



In other news, I just filed the nut on my girlfriend's guitar using old guitar strings, and it worked quite well. I got the action almost perfect on this POS acoustic, but I don't trust this technique enough to file it down any further. Still, I'm excited it worked and I now have a new idea for a homemade tool.

I think I was meant to do guitar repairs.

So that's probably the best show I've ever seen Pearl Jam play.

It was just incredible. I got to hear a bunch of songs I haven't seen them play live, I got to see some songs that they rarely play that I really wanted to see. I had an amazing time.

I was in studio today with my rig when the whole suburb had a blackout, I was worried for a bit but it's been through worse - it was only on standby when the electricity went and it was all alright an hour afterwards when the juice came back on.

I know but it's a live HD video of mah band :( There's two actually.

This is basically what I have to do haha, in retrospect the second cab wasn't really necessary. But still useful.

I would be worried if it happened to mine, I'm too paranoid now I have a rig I know parts are hard to come by for.

I was stoked to finally hear my head and cab mic'ed up today.

Well the audio wasn't live recorded it was just video from our resident photographer/cinematographer but came out a hell of a lot better than most seem to. Both times.

Depending on where we play next I'm considering combining resources with him and jacking direct from the sound deck.

Can be tricky to do that live recordings from a sound desk thing well because if you're recording the feed as is being sent to the front of house, it's rarely listenable on its own when all the live amps and things are taken out of the equation. Found that out the hard way :lol:, got our mix back from it and it's the front of house guy like, tweaking the crap out of the volume sliders midway through songs to figure out which channel is what and all kinds of crap that rendered the audio completely useless.

Well we haven't officially signed with him yet although he works with my guitarists cousin who does radio work and I think takes 15%, which is not a huge amount in retrospect. When he's back from Sydney we're sorting out the fine print.

15% is alright for a manager, as long as they are essential to you making 15%+ more than you could without them. I get way tired of booking gigs myself, hitting up radio stations, etc :(. Tiring ****.
