Aaron 02-05-2009 07:15 PM

Is it worth watching?

gaslight 02-05-2009 07:34 PM

Haha that actually does sound pretty funny.

I found an old Radiohead poster of mine, sick. Had an old Kramer one too but it's ruined.

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 02-05-2009 07:38 PM

it's not really meant to be funny, it's one of those coming of age films

it's pretty good.

imdb gave it a 7.2/10

Aaron 02-05-2009 07:39 PM

I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like A) radiohead and B) Seinfeld.

gaslight 02-05-2009 08:04 PM

Things that aren't meant to be funny are funnier because of it.

And Aaron, yeah, probably.
I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like A) radiohead and B) Seinfeld.
I enjoy both to a small degree.

gaslight 02-05-2009 09:06 PM

I like Seinfeld more than I like Radiohead. Based on statistics I'll watch on average two Seinfeld episodes a day, I don't even necessarily listen to Radiohead once in a month. Great band though.

When I check the mailbox today my ABN better be there or I'll be way disappointed.

gaslight 02-05-2009 09:26 PM

Ffs, Warner out for 2.

Haha, a sign held up by New Zealanders at the cricket - "Even We're Better Than You Now".

Meatplow 02-05-2009 09:58 PM

i sense a distinct IDM and ambient influence over radioheads later works whereas seinfeld is sorely lacking in this department

gaslight 02-05-2009 10:02 PM

Haha.

I would never watch Seinfeld if it had any hint of IDM or ambience. That said, Radiohead have pretty much always had leanings toward electronic music, it's just very pronounced on In Rainbows, which I wasn't that nuts about but only listened to like twice.

And yeah Radiohead are pretty much just in a state of, we've made all the money we could ever want, we can really do whatever the fuck we want to now, let's just do whatever we fancy. Very nice lives.

Haha, this - http://catb.org/esr/jargon/html/magic-story.html

Also at the cricket, a sign saying "your the best" for Hussey. It's the thought that counts.

Aaron 02-05-2009 11:46 PM

haha. Magic or more-magic?

gaslight 02-05-2009 11:56 PM

I'm going to find a switch somewhere I can put a magic/more magic sticker on.

I just tried the KFC Tower burger. Pretty good.

Meatplow 02-06-2009 05:29 AM

its just a hash brown in a fillet or a zinger with some tomato sauce :/

gaslight 02-06-2009 05:32 AM

Everything is just a something with a something. Sometimes without a second something.

Meatplow 02-06-2009 05:45 AM

very true

gaslight 02-06-2009 05:49 AM

Gotta say I think they made up the part about the tomato sauce being tangy.

Quiet night on the internet.

Meatplow 02-06-2009 05:55 AM

it is a little tangy

playing lots and lots of NES games

gaslight 02-06-2009 05:59 AM

Love the NES.

What do you guys reckon of those mini CDs, the 3"(8cm) ones?

horseypie 02-06-2009 06:08 AM

like minidiscs? that sony brought out for a new music revolution but then realised they shouldve gone into mp3?

gaslight 02-06-2009 06:14 AM

Nah MiniDisc is different technology to CDs. The 8cm CDs are the same technology as the standard 12cm CD, just with reduced data capacity.

MiniDisc is a pretty excellent format for doing field recordings and stuff but will never be anything more than a niche market.

horseypie 02-06-2009 06:16 AM

ohh yea the small ones

i never understood how you could use them unless you put that black disc aound them to make them fit in a cd drive, which kind of defeated the purpose

gaslight 02-06-2009 06:22 AM

They'll work in any CD drive that has a hub thing to stick them around without any gadgets but yeah, they're pretty hopeless for those slot loading or tray ones, that's my main gripe with them.

That and they're only good for singles or short EPs because their maximum audio content is like 21 minutes.

horseypie 02-06-2009 06:30 AM

yeah they seem pretty gimmicky

gaslight 02-06-2009 06:38 AM

Yeah pretty much.

I'm thinking of offering them through my business anyway and if no-one goes for it then that's okay. I've got some cool ideas for packaging them and stuff though, hopefully there'll be a bit of a niche for it, they'd be fun to make.

Meatplow 02-06-2009 06:41 AM

i remember the only time i ever had one was when it was shoved under the lid of some drink i bought from hungry jacks or something

it had samples from some australian hip-hop dance act who was big at the time what the hell was their name they had a chinese drummer who would stand up playing and had a film clip where people were calling each other wack or something

gaslight 02-06-2009 07:09 AM

Haha. Gross on all counts.

horseypie 02-06-2009 07:18 AM
