night hobbes

anybody here seen the video of that dude playing 'while my guitar gently weeps' on a ukelayle(sp)

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 03:02 PM

That video made me get a uke and try to learn to play but I got bored because I realzied I just wanted a classical guitar.
The cort was a fretted dude  My fender jazz special is the fretless.
Shit I thought yiy were buying the Cort B4FL (fretless) guess I missed the boat a bit there.

Still get that bastard ASAP, also at some point try out the one with the mahogany body if you can.

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 03:07 PM

Nope, the fretted B4 with a swamp ash body.

I'm not dishing any more money out on fretless instruments until I decide I really like it or get my intonation down.

lemoley 11-02-2006 03:07 PM

well im off too guys

see ya MX

ebe9 11-02-2006 03:09 PM

Cheers Lem

Cheers Jody

I am also off, have a good one.

My last day of work at my current job tomorrow, start a new one on Monday. Will have to see if they have an issue with me checking MX every so often.
I guess I should have said the top part, kind of like a single cut bass, the bottom will start about the 23 or 24th fret.

Ick.

If you like it, go ahead. For me it's pretty much everything that I hate in a bass.

Have you played one? Because they get horrible reviews.

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 03:41 PM

I like dishing out more money on sound equipment than instrments.

My eden makes an MIM fender sound like a modded MIA, but my behringer made an urge bass sound like...well...not even a bass.

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 03:47 PM

Did I ever mention how unfair it is that Soup got an urge?
yes i have, i loved it :)
Cool, from what I have read about them if you are going to buy one, play the one that you buy.

When did this happen? I haven't seen him around here in a long time.

About two weeks ago, thats why he gave me a good deal on the fretless.

He didn't tell me the music shop had it, infact refused to tell me what he was buying with the money because he knew Id snag an urge for $600 in a heart beat.

Nice, tell him to drop by and show it to all of us. I never realized that you got your fender from him.

Pictures? Take it to someone that does repairs, they should be able to fix it. But if it is a cheep bass then it might not be worth it as it could cost a lot. If I were to charge for putting a headstock back on a bass I would charge between $100 and $200. What kind of bass is it?

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 03:54 PM

If its an ibanez, just buy a new bass.

Depends on the bass, if it is a nice old musician or something like that it is worth fixing. Basically if it was made in japan it is worth fixing.

nah, i got caught skipping my logic class today, thus i am not greater than life

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 03:57 PM

I went to try out guitars and every ibanez guitar I played between $200 and $1200 played and sounded EXACTLY the same...

Left Shoe 11-02-2006 03:57 PM

ibanez yech

Their guitars are all the same, unless it is the vai sig. I dig the prestige models and the "vintage" stuff. Anyone know if Ibanez ever made a headless bass?

The only peices of gear Im actually sure about are my Ovation and Eden.

I want your eden. I trade you all of my basses for your eden.

Jody LeCompte 11-02-2006 04:08 PM

How many basses, and what are they?

Soup borrowed my amp for a gig, he used the urge, the eden through my avatar, and an EHX english muffin. Do you have any idea how sexy it sounded?
