Hmmm so I once used to be really good friends with this girl. One day, she decided to stop talking to me, despite my attempts to save our friendship. 4 months later, she rings me out of the blue asking if I want to go to her birthday party. Am I a *** for not going to her party, or for not wishing her a happy birthday at all? Cos I really dont need people who only want to be friends when it suits them =\

No, you're not an ass. I would have done - and have done - the same thing. |
I think people expect too much from teenage relationships.
Or base what they think should happen based on MTV or romance movies they see. Take it for what its worth.
too true, people need to realise that its high school, nothing lasts forever, and be able to get over it and have the friendships and everything. it pisses me off when ppl dont know how to break up. |
What I need is a good defense, cause Im feeling like a criminal. I need to be redeemed to the one Ive sinned against, cause she's all I ever knew of love.

Breaking up is a big issue for a teen because- what else do they really have to worry about? Just because someone is younger doesn't mean things are any easier. |

It looks like Fiona Apple lyrics. |

Exactly. When you're young, your life revolves around your friends (including significant others), and if anything messes up, you have nothing. A 16 year old doesn't have a career, a family to take care of, a retirement, or anything to focus on, really. But then again, some adults are just as, if not more, reluctant to let go of other people even if the relationship is extremely painful. |

So I like another girl now. I think I may have a chance with this one since the two of us flirt a lot.
Last night I went to my friend Sasha's house to hang out with her, the girl I like, and a few other people. We were sitting around talking and Sasha and the girl I like wanted to jump in the pool fully clothed. They ran towards the pool but the girl I like didn't jump in, so I picked her up and threw her in. She then got out and gave me a hug and sat on my lap so I would get wet. They later talked me into jumping into the pool fully clothed. I'm pretty sure she likes me, well atleast she acts like she does. |
Go for it. She likes you.

You think so? That's good to hear.:p |
You think so?
That's good to hear.:p
You can almost always count on a girl liking you if you could throw her in a pool fully clothed only to have her sit in your lap. To be honest, even having a girl sitting in your lap is a pretty good indication |

...Me and my ex are about to get back together... :) Any tips people have for a second time around?
...and from previous page... NO RULES NO EXPECTATIONS is the gold plated/pseudo-gold rule. |
So I went on the date and everything went fairly well. We went to dinner first with some other people and hung out and had a good time. Then I met up with this guy I was buying some weed from and had to go talk to him for like say 30 minutes. The girl I was hanging out with went to this coffee shop where she was supposed to meet her friend to see some guy play. She talked to him for a while and when I got back I hung out with her friends then we all went to the park. The girl and I had a pretty good time and it doesn't really bother me that she talked to her guy friend for a while since I did leave to buy drugs, it's not that bad.
When I hung out with her she seemed to enjoy my company and I made her laugh at all the times I intended to etc. Now, I'm not sure what to do. I want to see her again, but I don't know when to ask her. I'm going out of town for a week and I don't know if it would be a good idea to call her while I'm gone or what. Any advice would be helpful. |
Call her before you go, arrange something for when you get back.
|
Call her and ask her if she'd like to go do something when you get back.
:EDIT: God dammit Aidan. |

Ok, a few weeks ago, I was playing a round of mini-golf with my friends and when we were done, we started to walk back to the main building to get some food. I was conversing with them, and joking, and laughing like we always do, and then I saw this girl. Now, I've never liked red-heads. Ever. They just never seemed attractive to me. But this girl, for some reason, stopped me in my tracks. It's not even like she was that great looking, she was just super appealing to me. I'm really unsure as to why this girl who normally I would not even noticed, was this appealing to me.

Alright, so me liking this girl has been pretty secretive and not a whole lot of people know about me liking her. So I decided to tell one of my friends, who happens to be my ex-girlfriend. I told her and she started freaking out at me. She told me I shouldn't do it, because the girl I like supposively does this with guys, flirts with them and leads them on and when they make a move she turns them down. She told me she doesn't want to see me get hurt. We had a pretty big argument and I told her I would be careful, but I still like the girl. So I'm going to tell the girl I like her sometime this week hopefully. I talked to her on MSN tonight and the conversation died, so I asked her if she liked anyone and she said she didn't know.

Oh no Matt! Makes you feel any better, I'm a loser too! :thumb: :p |
Big mistake telling your ex-girlfriend. Well, not BIG, but it's something I wouldn't have done. But, no worries.
My only advice for keeping conversations flowing is to make observations or tell stories. Asking questions like "so whats up and etc." doesn't really bode well because the answers will be somewhere in the one-word-answer category. If you ask questions that require some thought (other than yes/no/maybe/idk/lol), you can always ask follow-up questions. I'm not saying be an interrogator, but if you ask her questions, feel free to answer your own after she's done. Or, answer her questions. Just try to stay away from 'so whats up' or 'how was your day' or something along those lines. |
