hey, i'm looking for a china. Trashy, super quick decay, not really loud. Not too big either but loud enough to slice though heavy music.
|
Wow, hmmm... Maybe the Oriental Classic China. That's a nice one. I've heard the Evolution chinas are nice. Maybe the Avedis Swish Knocker.

Im looking for a ride.
Bright, great ping, not much wash, great bell. Help me lovelies. |
i play mostly rock and medal, some jazz, think that would be a good ride for me?
I would have to go with possibly a hhx studio ride I have heard it in live settings it is sweet for metal cause it has a decent crash sound and it has that warmer sound for jazz. |
22" A Ping Ride!
:p Already have one. Its an older model though. Im not sure if there is a difference between the new and the older model, sound wise. My ping doesnt have much of a ping anymore. It sounds like a medium ride now. |
I'd look at the K Heavy Ride, it fits your description. Also look into the K Special Dry Ride(I think it's called).
|
Like the cereal? :p
Thanks for the suggestion. Ill try to find out and try it out. |
im looking for a splash, somthin like the zil a custum 10 in but, all my other cymbals are sabian,
this isnt a big deal but id like to stick to one brand, im not goning to get an inferior cymbal just because of brand. thanks |
How about the Vault series? I think they're supposed to be identical to the A Customs.
|
apparently sabian dosent make vault splashes just checked the website
|
Nah, only hats, rides and crashes.
I can't wait for splashes and chinas, i hope they rock. |
fishy you should order one...go to your local store, tell em you want a custom order and say you want a china based on the vault series. And give em the sound characteristics you want.
|
Hmm, i could but i'm not exactly in the market for a china right now.
|
Hey, this is cymbal related, so here you are: I'm after a cymbal spring and ebay finally have some! But now I'm unsure what size I need, medium or large. Whats the difference ?Thanks
:) |
The medium spring, which is red, is recommended for crash cymbals 16” and larger. The yellow heavy spring is recommended for China cymbals and Ride cymbals 18” and larger.
ya know, i doing some research(on the sabian web site and at my drum shop) and i compared the a custom(10" splash) to the two i found on the sabian site to be the most alike, the aa and aax 10" splashes(aax is a tad darker but not much) the major difference i noticed was the volume (which really supprised me) i looked at one, hit it, looked at another, hit IT,... and DAMN that zil was loud compared to the sabians, the only differece vissually i noticed was the bell size(the zil bell was about twice as large) im no expert in cybals but does the bell size have much to do with volume? bigger bell translates to more unlathed bronze, which i guess means more mass = more volume? any ideas? btw ant hope this helps
The medium spring, which is red, is recommended for crash cymbals 16” and larger. Ant, IIRC, the large is for rides and chinas and the mediums are for crashes.
